Hey so in The Owl House intro there’s a panel that has Lilith, Hunter, and Kikimora lined up between pillars with all the coven heads above them right? And in the left corner, we see the owl house, and in the right, there’s the emperor’s castle.

What’s been drawing my eye is the weird squiggly, almost intestine-like shape that this shows. The real castle kind of has a shape like that going up the turret when we see it in the show, but it’s much thinner and more pipe-like. My first thought was that it looked like Hooty. And now, in King’s Tide, The Collector is turning the castle into an owl house for the game King made up. It makes me wonder if Hooty is going to intervene somehow.

The Collector and Hooty actually strike me as having many similarities. They’re both much more powerful than they look, possessing powers different and larger than either witch or demon. They often do things that disturb the other characters (though with Hooty it’s sometimes because he’s gross, and he knows when to stop being an unhinged monstrosity), and they have fun acting out violence against others, turning it into a game. Hooty has yet to kill anyone on screen, but I have no doubt that he could and would. I have no idea what this means, but I hope The Collector and Hooty at least get to interact, and maybe it will reveal more about what and who Hooty is, because we really have no idea so far.
