Omg okay so you know how Forever asked for mod ideas to add on twitter? Well I can't stop thinking about the one I recommended bc it'd be such a fun server event.
The one I recommended was a double life mod. Which is basically like, two random PLAYERS (not eggs >:( !!!) are matched up and they are "soulmates". Soulmates share all dmg between the two of them which means if one of them dies, the other does as well.
I was thinking its an optional event obviously but theres some sort of prize for the last soulmate pair left standing. Maybe something like being able to ask the federation for ANYTHING (except obvious things like creative mode or leave the island) and its implied u can ask for egg lives too but idk if that'd ACTUALLY be a prize or just bait.
Essentially the participants are trying to make it to the end and be the last pair standing so they can get the prize which could include alliances, desperately trying to protect each other nd making it to the end bc they have the same wish OR betrayals bc they dont :D
I think it'd be a nice incentive for players to interact and be active since I think how active you are will have to be a factor or else a pair can just join the event and never login until everyone else dies lol.
I'm thinking, just like the actual double life series, each pair has like 2 or 3 lives until they're out of the event? I also think it'd create interesting dynamics.
Like how funny would it be if tazercraft participated but they werent paired up since its random, so their soulmates just have to accept that they have to work as a 4 person alliance? Would any soulmates rather go solo then stick around their soulmate? Would there be drama about soulmates going and doing dangerous things alone, risking if not actually accidentally costing them one of their lives?
Idek I just think it'd be fun. Idk who I'd hope Forever is paired w bc it'd be fun no matter what, but I do think he'd absolutely gear up his soulmate and give them everything he can so they can survive since if theyre BOTH downed, they will be completely reliant on the kindness of other players/participants to see if they'll be revived or lose a life which. Isn't ideal. I actually think he'd set up a statis room and want a code for if one of them is in danger and needs a tp yk
Tysm if u read this all, you are my fave Forever blog bc u Understand my cubito which is why u unfortunately got the brunt of this ramble 🙏🙏🙏
Ooh I actually like this idea! Actually I have been excited for Tazercraft's Murder Mystery because one of the roles is "Lovers", and if your partner die you die. So I really want to see the random matchups we could get.
In a way, it'd be like your government assigned partner all over again like it was with the eggs, but this time the French and the Brazilians can participate since they've always been just a big polycule. So it'd be nice for a short event where you can get some good but not game-breaking rewards.
I agree that Forever would become very protective of his partner and instantly set up an enderpearls stasis chamber like he does with his family, but I'd love to see how insufferable he'd get too if he got someone like Philza lol.
Anyways I really like this idea mainly because I'd love to see the unexpected duos that would come from it even if temporarily. I really hope the admins think of some type of event like this, but if not we can get something close to it with Tazercraft's Murder Mystery at least!

i have no real point to this post, but here are my thoughts on why I think The Outer Worlds flopped as much as it did. (Technically the game didn't "flop" but people thought this would be the new Fallout New Vegas and it really disappointed).
Tbh i think almost all of that due to storytelling and worldbuilding reasons and I actually think that TOW had some really cool mechanics and tried to simplify the roleplaying aspects without taking away too much and while I wished that the game would have had a more interesting range of combat scenarios and they could have done more with the idea of "what was your job before you cane here" the gameplay is pretty solid and i won't really touch on it much
anyway my first take is that the exaggerated style of humor the game uses has really gone out of fashion and people are tired of seeing it. I even think it fits TOW to use overexaggerated, blunt and absurd humor, because it underlines how casual people in the world are about late-late-stage-capitalism, but the game came out at a time where everyone had already done a game like this (e.g. Borderlands, We Happy Few, etc.) it and personally I think that Marvel's "So that just happened" schtick started to wear people out made audiences less sympathetic to the tone than they might have been otherwise
this is a topic i talk about a lot but very few characters actually have good *and* bad character traits and this game has like 1000 CEOs who say some variation of "I don't care if all my workers die, save my money", so the game often lacks anything really interesting that there is to say about the story, because you know whos supposed to be good and whos supposed to be bad and there isn't really a "there is no ethical consumption under capitalism" storyline a.k.a. any grey morality in a game about capitalism. I think the game had two or three really memorable moments like the Spacer's Choice vendor or the quest about finding out the Board killed a ton of elderly people so the system didn't have to provide for them anymore but most of the time the interactions all felt pretty flat and not very thought-provoking
the game is very bad at making you care for the characters. like, the game introduces a mechanic in Edgewater where you can talk to Parvati about random stuff she says, like that she broke a vending machine in a store and it fleshed her out as a character SO quickly that I was like "Oh this game is gonna have amazing characters", but after that level the mechanic just gets dropped and that pisses me off because it was SO well done and was actually really immersive and engaging
in all fairness, FNV also isn't that interested in making you care for your companions but there it works a lot better because you can only have one companion at a time and it's overally not a very character-focussed game, while it actually is incredibly easy to notice that the characters in TOW are all lacking a bit of a dynamic with each other
and the plot also isn't super intruigung? the story is very centered on Phineas Welles, who I personally didn't care about and the narrative also doesn't really give you an incentive to care. like, yeah he saved you and he's a bit of an outlaw but imagine if you had woken up in FNV and the game would insist you now have to help Doc Mitchell for 20 questlines because he saved you after you were shot, like no one would care, really
one thing I actually liked about the story was the implication that earth is gone and that nature and resources are working against humanity and that the board can't really sustain the people anymore, but that was really the only thing that stood out in the plot to me and really could have had more of an impact in the plot
and the planets are all so unbelievably boring and while there was some visual distinction between the planets, they all *felt* the same. The Groundbreaker and Byzantium were cool locations simply because they werent the standart combination of plants with unnatural colors + one type of mob + 2 villages + 5 sidequests you don't want to do. also comparing the game to FNV there of course also were quests I didn't like, but FNV was so filled with quests and content that you could just skip 30 sidequests and still have the time of your life and it felt like TOW didn't even have 30 sidequests
so like I said i have no real point with this post I was just thinking about the outer worlds and my take is it could have been a good game, but so much of the game was so *mid* that they would have needed a lot of changes to the narrative to really engage anyone

Also yeah while im on the subject
I really hate fantasy settings where magic is limited by biological sex. Because usually its used to enforce some sort of stupid gender stereotype that the writer believes is "biologically innate" rather than predjudice, by making up a world where it actually is biologically innate. Or its like "oh but women cant do those jobs" but again, a made up excuse for it to be LITERALLY TRUE. And usually they either dont even touch on the subject of trans and gay people (since it often conflates heterosexuality with gender...) or else it actually does bring it up and just creates a cavalcade of even more everything-ism...
Like i mean i love the game Jade Coccoon and considering it came out in the early 2000s i can understand it being more sexist, and its supossed to be a dark game anyway and a lot of the societal structures in Syrus Village are meant to be wrong and evil even if the characters act like its the way the world should be. The villain of the game is basically the toxic atmosphere of your shitty town and their paranoia of things they don't understand. Tho that means the player kinda has no motivation to finish it cos the main conflict is also saving those same villagers from dying and theyre all fucks. Anyway i'm going offtopic! What i mena is that i dont think it was a particularly sexist example of the inexplicable gender segregated magic trope. But just cos its a fave game of mine im gonna pick it to talk about anyway. Hope i dont sound too negative on it, cos seriously i love it loads!
Ok so to use Jade Cocoon as an example, here its a thing that only men can be cocoon masters and only women can be nagi. Tho it also gets a bit complicated because nagi is also an ethnicity as well? Its kinda like being romani, they're a race of displaced people who travel the world giving their magical services to other countries while searching for their lost homeland, which you end up finding at the end of the game. So yeah its extra weird cos male children of the nagi race are born with no powers whatsoever and cant even become cocoon masters, yet they get the ruling position in this homeland place? Like thats a better metaphor for how christian societies work, honestly!
Anyway im going offtopic again!
Basically, cocoon master = adventurer dude who catches monsters, nagi = magician who purifies those monsters so you can use them in battle. So when you catch stuff it becomes an inventory item rather than being able to use it on your team right away. And also nagi women can fuse monsters together to make super badass new ones and basically the gameplay system works really well to make you believe your wife is absolutely necessary to your quest and you would die without her, even if she cant fight. And honestly its actually kinda romantic! I just wish it wasnt presented as this weird sacred heterosexuality arranged marriage nonsense where all women are physically unable to go to a dungeon and all men are physically unable to not fight every day. Or at least thats how the powers work and if you try and step out of that role you fuckin die. Like it would be romantic to have a couple of a battle partner and a supporter magician if they actually chose it, yknow?
And whats annoying is that they actually do bring up the subject of people defying gender roles and canonically state that you not omly die but bring a curse upon everyone and are hated forever. They dont mention trans or gay people, instead the excuse is that a man loved his wife so much that he tried to learn nagi magic to lift the burden from her. Cos oh yeaj women get 'punished' by god for doing this magic?? Cursed tattoos all over their body the more they use it, and everyone hates them and eventually they turn into a fairy and forget they were ever human. And in the japanese version you can actually fight other nagi women who met this fate, theyre just another monster that you can fight and capture. They were censored in english cos they looked like really racist stereotypes of black women! Ugh! So yeah anyway nice straight husband is punished by the magic straightness enforcing rules of the universe for loving his straight wife too much. So what is the even point? If a man tries to use nagi magic it creates the "black cocoon" of cursed doomness and blah. Literal punishment for not conforming to gender. Damned if you do, damned if you don't!
Anyway this setting always made me wonder about all the stuff it just glosses over with this implication that every one of these relationships worked out fine. Like even before we rub lgbtq topics all over a retro videogame, there's a lot of logical holes! Like seriously how many of these arranged marriages ended up loveless or abusive? How many women just didnt want to stay confined to one room forever and not even have anyone look at them because their magic markings are shameful yet its also shameful not to want to do it?? How many men were terrified of going out on this advebture fighting literal demigods sent by heaven to punish humans? How many of them just had no ability to fight and died immediately because of shitty traditions, while perfectly qualified women had to sit there and watch it happen? What if there werent enough straight men and women of the same age and people were forced into gross pedophilic shit or other horror scenarios just cos there has to be this one magical straight couple or the village dies? Whenever theres this stupid gender magic its ALWAYS portrayed as idyllic and never failing ever, unless *gasp* people dont follow the gendrules...
And then SERIOUSLY do no queer people exist in this universe?? Man i'd be so interested in their stories! I actually had an oc idea of a self insert version of me as a travelling merchant. Because maybe what if nonbinary people could do both sides of the magic at once and thus adventure alone without being tied to a village's straight marriage system? So i'd just go around purifying monsters and then be a place you could buy new and rare mons from other villages without having to catch them. Maybe an easier way to get the super rare drop fusion materials for tiger pattern and stuff? And like seriously itd be good to have a character to talk to who agrees that your village is made of assholes. I cant say its bad writing cos it was clearly intentional, but they shoulda at least put a bit more incentive to keep playing even if you didnt care about these people. Also it would help plug the plothole of how a village even survives if it doesnt have the required people to form this magical straight marriage. Have some mysterious enby avengers who travel all across the world and save everyone regardless of country! All we ask is you buy some of our lovely souveniers! Maybe a pet patalchu for your family? Seripusly why dont they ever show anyone using the purified monsters for anything other than fighting the unpurified ones? You'd think they'd be really useful in repairing the village and guarding the walls and like..regular industrial jobs. Help the place actually advance and not have to live day to day on scraps, bickering amoungst themselves as the monsters grow ever closer to breaking through. Hell, you could even have them help spin the cocoons for other monsters! If this magic only depends on having a dick or not, then cant we just dress up some animals in the magic straight marriage outfits? XD
And like aaaa man im getting so emotional just imagining a trans woman who's constabtly told she will literally bring about the apocolypse if she tries to fill the female role in this ritual. And then one day she tries to spin the magic silk and she thinks she's committing the ultimate sin and they were all right. But the magic responds to her touch, and she makes a spell more beautiful than any other woman in the village! It would probably be harder for a trans man cos the magic doesnt have so much of an immediate proof like that. Just going out and winning a fight with a monster can be called "dumb luck", and knowing these assholes they'd probably keep calling it dumb luck even after the thousandth time you save their life!
And man, i wonder how gay relationships would work in such an annoyingly strict system of enforced heterosexuality? Would it be like the magic isnt REALLY gender locked at all, and it can just be any couple with either partner taking either role? Or would it be that it is one magic per gender but the bigoted villagers were wrong about it being impossible to do things without both? Like maybe when you're going into battle alone as a single cocoon master you cant fight without catching other monsters. But when two cocoon masters love each other their magic is amplified and they become able to like.. I dunno.. Imbue each other with elemental strength so they can fight the monsters hand to hand? Cos really the elemental system is the only reason you cant do a no monsters run of the game as it is. Maybe since they cant purify monsters but they can still catch them, they equip the monsters as sort of a power rangers transformation? Or socket them like materia on their weapons? Or just if the world was less segregated into tiny sexist racist villages they could simply buy the purification coccoons from another local nagi, and villages without a coccoon master could buy the services of travelling ones. Oh, and maybe two nagi lesbians could be even more badass! Cos if they can only purify and not fight, maybe their double purification is so strong that they can just straight up walk into the forest and monsters don't attack them. They dont even need to do the full spell, they can calm a beastie's rage just by holding out their hand and patting it on the head. So they coukd be infinately more effective and not have to just tenporarily clear single travelling routes of a few monsters, but actually work towards slowly purifying the entire forest and creating a peaceful land again. Tho i mean the game did have a unique atmosphere with the whole 'no hope of ever beating them' aspect. It was unique to see a society formed around the idea of never going into forests or you Die. But magical lesbians and their family of a million pet dragons is honestly better!
And uhhhh ive gone all offtopic now and i camt stop thinking about how much i love magical lesbians with a million pet dragons
The End

convo with cousins bf again lol. talking about sus government shit
Him: the only thing i learned in financial literacy is that life is unfair (no its not. Its made to be unfair). And EMT who saves lives makes less than a carpenter who makes cabinets (ok. One...almost all those emt cases are preventable but because the oligarchy and all that other bs, and wanting money to insurance and money to healthcare and all that and big pharm...they dont care about the EMT. and also the carpenter is an entrepreneur who MAKES things that benefit people..kinda), and apparently a girl who wanted to be a nurse made more money than both of them combined. It just doesnt make sense. (also because the nurse is the one who gives the meds from big pharm. But some are good. some…)
Me: there has to be a reason and explanation behind this tho
Him: i was a biologist and needed a bachelors and i STILL made less than her. She needed an associate's or something. I guess life isnt fair
Me: a nurse requires a BS in nursing school lol
Him: i was a dang biologist but the EMT and carpenter combined were like 70% of what the nurse made.
Me: because a biologist works for big companies and/or the government (with the best beneifts possible, that they dont even need $ bc it is all provided) and create and discover things for the advancement of health and science and all that. They dont do it for the money or the incentive. But it can also go the other way, where it is just the government and the big corp, insurance, big pharm are the ones who hate the advancements and will start war, will make a huge PR and media stunt. Create tensions in areas, etc….because they want to keep the power to themselves. Those in the healthcare sector like that feed all the meds to the already sick people and they help out with the cycle. So ofc they will be paid higher salaries (but there are also good sides to this...just got to know all your info…what you are consuming and why….) they keep the big pharm and insurance and real estate sector booming. Like?? Keep the richest ones allowed because money (idk what i meant). Its funny. How america also loves to invade all these countries to spread democracy (aka business) (aka steal their resources, kill the planet, kill their people, have a “shortage”, get people to fight, raise food prices and water prices and health prices)...but hey...money! But now what lol. When we all are suffering and all those people who created the world around us will go into hiding and we all fight to the finish because of hunger games? Like tf…”spread democracy” my fucking ass. Also its a “religious” thing? No its not. Its a greed and growing culture of that and the 7 sins.
Him: oh not to mention we “coincidentally” only have beef with countries without centralized banks. Anyone with a truly independent economy is the enemy. (that is the goal….be the enemy of these powerful people. But be the one to give light and empower those under them, and free them). Because they still have the freedom and power and arent manipulated by media and can revolt easily. And they can come into power because they are incorrupt and not fearful (but ISIS and all those groups--shit...even NK...all to scare tbh...but it scares us so much that is brings us together...and we improve on things that needed to improve and everything on media was fake)
Me: Kind of like 9/11 lol
Him: i just wish people werent so damn greedy. If i were to have like 500 million i would not try to get any richer (what i would do is make things to then make it spread to more people and to give life to more generations to come) like shit that would last my bloodline to be rich for at least 3 generations. Theres a point where there is too much (like in hamlet...when the king has too much good and too much power and then kills for more….then he gets killed….and that person and the other person….and they all end up dying together in vain and greed and all that and never go to heaven)
Me: but we arent just talking individuals. We're talking whole nations, as if a whole nation isnt rich no one will be able to get rich (its the other way, young g). However, just because a country isnt rich doesnt mean their people arent rich (like they might just be working ode and milking off of it but not sending their money back--bad economy--no spending--raise taxes--get them internally). Saudi is an example. Seem “super rich” but most of their people are dirt poor and suffering and thats exactly like america. A lot of americas unknown side is like that.
Him: america itself isnt a first world country. Theres spots in the world that are objectively worse than third world countries.
Me: exactly. And a lot has to do with the fact of pop control, power and control control. And we abandon them and not let them advance and be the future of creating a better world, but then again, when there is too much advancement and too much competition, it would halt because we just can't keep up--and then we would need to have to bring things down again somehow. And i mean like the people and the competition and the euphoria. So rn we just waste a lot of money on war because it is the scaring time to advance more and we are going to start having a competition with those rich conservative greedy people and we get richer by hurting the vulnerable. And if we stop….we’re just going to go back to an outside war, because we are constantly at war--media, consumption, work, buying, etc….
Me: lol. Trump is only banning muslims from poor islamic countries that dont have business with us lol. But you know...politics is business….business is life….(more on this later on)
Him: trump apparently knows what hes doing, but only to further his business ventures. Thats why he didnt put his business in a blind trust nor release his tax returns. Hes gonna be like bush a lot. During the bush admin the price of gas went up double digit % (more on this later on tesla and more deeper stuff) claiming it was cause of the war in the middle east when alaska had massive oil supplies. He just boosted the price to get rich on purpose and set the “war on terrorism” as a blame war. From a moral less pov, its genuis
