|| Y'know the fact Sam knows the most about Bucky in the entire show - he saw Bucky when he was still the Winter Soldier, they fought, Winter almost killed him -, and Sam still offers a place to stay at, he literally looks after Bucky and makes sure he's okay and Bucky is healing when he's at Sam's and makes so much more progress with moving on and he's welcome whenever he crashes in and they all treat him nicely like-
That shit-
I love that shit 👏👏👏
We do not deserve Sam Wilson but we all need a Sam Wilson in our lives.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier - Episode two
Bucky: *looks sad and distraught at the news, that's not what he expected to see*
Bucky: *trots after Sam*
Bucky: *generally dislikes new Captain America and repeatedly tells Sam the shield belongs to him*
Bucky: *jumps after Sam from a moving plane*
Bucky: *hesitantly, but listens to Sam not to attack - he actually accepts his leadership even if he argues*
Bucky: *sasses at but protects Sam during fight*
Bucky: *lands on top of Sam and only gets off when he's told to*
Bucky: *shows Sam secrets nobody is supposed to know*
Bucky: *actually cooperates during session better than he did before, he even spoke so much more*
Bucky: *finally breaks down his walls and tells Sam about giving up Steve's legacy and how he still thinks it's not right*
Sam: Just let's get this job done and we'll go separate ways and never meet again.
Me:

Me:
My heart: *breaks*
Me: SAM YOU DO NOT DO THAT TO HIM
Me: WHY DID YOU SAY THAT
Me: SERIOUSLY WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU
Me: WHY CAN'T YOU SEE HHHNNNNNGGGG

Bucky Musings
Here I’ll collect bits which I loved to write about Bucky - it’s a post to show newcomers how I write him, as well as a personal reminder and a bit of depth and meta. I’ll add as I go.
~*~
Things never were easy - not back in the past either, but now it was even more complicated. He'd tried not to get into fights, to break away from old 'habits', but the more time he'd spent as a 'civilian' the more uncomfortable he felt. People didn't know how to reply to his honesty, and he couldn't lie to them, because he was so sure they'd find out, sooner or later, who he was. So Bucky just tried to accept everything that happened and he tried his best to treat people as he treated them in the past: with honesty and respect.
It didn't really work out always in his favour. His past was constantly haunting him and he was having nightmares, as well as flashbacks during the day. Sometimes he'd sit down to watch telly and not see anything because he zoned out. And the therapist? Hah. That was the worst of all. Being given 'guidelines' and 'rules' how should he behave and act as if he didn't know full well.
But how did people even expect him to function like a civilian when all he did for ninety years was killing upon killing? How did they expect him to move on when he had so much to catch up on... so many names to remember, names of those who were still a threat to the world and names of those he'd killed? Bucky was alone. His burden was too heavy. And he didn't know how to cope.
He knew she liked him, but he wasn't sure she'd like all the skeletons in his closet, too. He was difficult, more difficult than anything else she'd met, and God help her if she wanted to see into the depths of his soul, because it was dark, it was tainted, it was heavy and burdened with so much pain.
"Bucky", he murmured suddenly. A short pause as he stopped beside her, his expression trying it's best to shift into a smile as he glanced in her eyes. "Please, call me Bucky."
James was one of the things that made him slightly uncomfortable. Bucky was the nickname HYDRA didn't know. He was James, Barnes, Sergeant Barnes, солдат, Winter Soldier - they used all sorts of names and titles but Bucky was his old identity they could not reach. He sure let people call him by his real name, but he wouldn't want Kara to keep calling him James when he felt more comfortable around her than around others. He trusted her enough with that.
