From Malang to Bromo, you can head east to the Tumpang area. Then continue to the Poncokusumo area, then to Gubukklakah Village – Ngadas Village. • Via Probolinggo (Sukapura Route)

There are plenty of spacious parking lots available for your vehicle as well.
If you are coming from Surabaya, you can take the Surabaya-Probolinggo toll road. After exiting the toll gate, enter the Sukapura area and then head to Ngadisari. Continue driving until you reach Cemoro Lawang. The village of Cemoro Lawang is the gateway to the Bromo area, and this route also allows you to visit the enchanting Madakaripura waterfall.
New Rules for Mount Bromo Tourism After the Pandemic
The Mount Bromo tourist area has been reopened by agreement between East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa and the governments of Probolinggo, Malang, Lumajang, Pasuruan districts, and Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park.
Although it has been reopened, there are nine health practices that must be followed when visiting Mount Bromo during the New Normal period. The Mount Bromo management does not accept on-site ticket purchases to reduce physical contact and density in the tourist area.
All visitors who want to enter the Mount Bromo area must be in good physical condition. To ensure this, visitors must bring a health certificate and not have Upper Respiratory Tract Infection (URTI).
Before entering the Mount Bromo tourist area, the body temperature of each visitor will be measured. If the body temperature is above 37.30, a second temperature check will be performed every 5 minutes. If the temperature is still high, the visitor is not allowed to enter the Mount Bromo tourist area.
To maintain hand hygiene, all visitors are required to bring hand sanitizer or liquid soap.
At the Gunung Bromo tourist attraction, not all visitors are allowed to gather. You must always maintain a distance from others and follow the applicable rules.
Because the elderly and children are vulnerable groups to the spread of the Covid-19 virus, there are age restrictions for visitors. The minimum age for visiting Gunung Bromo is 14 years old and the maximum age is 60 years old.
To prevent the spread of the virus through droplets, all visitors to the Gunung Bromo area must wear masks and gloves.
To make the tourist area safer and more comfortable, visitors must bring their own food, drinks, and worship equipment. These items cannot be shared to avoid exchanging them.
If coughing or sneezing, visitors must observe proper etiquette by covering their nose and mouth with a tissue or inside of the elbow. Visitors are also strictly prohibited from spitting indiscriminately!
To prevent crowds and tourists, the management of Gunung Bromo tourism has limited the number of visitors with a quota. The quota applies to all tourist attractions in the Gunung Bromo area, such as Bukit Cinta which can only be visited by 28 people/day, Pananjakan with 178 people/day, Bukit Keduh with 86 people/day, Savana Teletapit with 347 people/day, and Mentigen with 100 people/day.
You are also urged not to approach the crater of Mount Bromo during the New Normal. The safe radius of the crater is 1 km.
How to Get to Bromo from Malang, Surabaya, Jakarta

• How to Go to Bromo from Jakarta
Traveling to Bromo by train can be cheaper than by car. Economy class trains are more comfortable and cheaper. From Jakarta, you can take the train from Pasar Senen to Malang Kota Baru Station. From Malang, you can also continue your journey directly to Bromo.
Besides Malang, you can also stop at Probolinggo by changing the main route. Then continue your journey by bus. Moreover, if you go to Bromo by plane, it is relatively easier. There are quite a lot of flights to Surabaya, especially Juanda Airport. After that, you can continue your journey to Bromo by public transportation or rental car.
If you are using public transportation, on certain dates there is also a Damri bus available that goes directly to the Jeep parking area, or you can use a taxi/motorcycle taxi to reach Bungurasih Terminal. After that, you can look for buses heading to Banyuwangi or Jember. Note that you need to confirm with the conductor to get off at Probolinggo.

ITINERARY
Departure (11.30 PM)
Starting the tour from meeting point (Pasar Turi Train Station, Gubeng Train Station, and Purabaya Bus Station). Our team will picking up tour participants starting at 11.30 p.m. Please be ready 30mins prior to tour departure.
Bromo (03.00 AM)
After arrived at Jeep point, the group will continue the trip to reach the top of the Penanjakan Hill and with our 4WD vehicle. Enjoy your time seeing the beautiful sunrise of Bromo from Penanjakan sunrise point before continuing the trip to Bromo crater. Starting from the parking lot of Bromo Crater, you can take walk or ride a horse to reach the rim of the crater. You will be surprised with a view of the peak of Mount Batok, Mount Semeru, and the temple of Luhur Poten. You can also visit the Teletubies hill, the slopes of the mountain covered with vast green grass and Widodaren Hill. After Bromo excursion, take a breakfast at nearest restaurant before continuing the journey to Madakaripura Waterfall.
Madakaripura Waterfall (11.00AM)
From Bromo area, it would take 60mins of car ride to reach Madakaripura area. Upon arrival at parking area, you need to take motorbike shuttle to the entrance gate for about 10mins. Start fun trekking to the main waterfall site, It would take 30 mins by walk escorted by local people.
After Visiting Madakaripura. Transfer back to Surabaya / Malang or drop off to Probolinggo train station. Approximately arrived back at Surabaya at 17.00PM, end of tour.

Day 2
Bromo Sunrise (03.00 AM)Hit your alarm before 03:00 AM and be ready to start the next exploration. This day you will ride a 4WD Jeep to Mount Penanjakan. You have to go there on time otherwise you will lose the main attraction. The main attraction is the amazing sunrise and you are about to enjoy it from the sunrise viewpoint. There are 3 spots that you can choose. It takes 1 hour from your hotel to the sunrise viewpoint. You will enjoy the beauty of the sea of sand before arriving at the sunrise viewpoint.
The weather is extremely cold there and sometimes the area is covered by fog. The fog makes you stand above the sea of clouds from Mount Bromo or Mount Batok. This trip offers more than just amazing sunrise and fog. It is also offering the great scenery of Mount Semeru. This is the time to capture the highest volcanic mountain in Java.
Once you get to the crater’s ridge, you will witness the active Bromo volcano from above. It sounds like a jet engine as you hear the volcano roaring as result of fuming gasses from very bottom of the crater surrounded by “pit-hole caldera looks”. At latest 08.00 AM, back to parking area then drive back to hotel to get breakfast. Leaving bromo between 09.00 – 09:30 AM, then proceed to transfer directly to Banyuwangi city. Will takes 6-7 hours drive, including stop on the way to get lunch on local restaurant. Upon arrival around 04.00 PM, proceed to check in and free leisure at 3 stars Hotel. Have rest and be prepared in the following night for Ijen Trekking.
Day 3
Ijen crater (00.30 AM)Just like the day before, you have to hit your early alarm and leave the hotel on time. Our tour guide will pick you up at the lobby at 00:30 AM. The tour guide takes you to Ijen Mountain and it takes 1.5 hours. You are going to the base camp and enjoy a coffee-break before starting the trip. Just prepare your stamina because you are about to go to the rim of Ijen Crater. It is challenging hiking but worth to do. You have to spend about 2 hours and pass 3.5 kilometers before get to the location.
From there, you will enjoy stunning blue fire, burning Sulfur that spews blue light in the dark. Blue fire is a nature phenomenon created by the burning sulphur, which can be seen during the night. Yet, it might be different every night depending on condition around such as humidity, wind’s direction and the heat from the sulphur itself. Thus, there is no 100% guarantee tourists would see it clearly. *This place is not recommended for people with asthma, heart attack or any other health problem at intermediate stage. Wear hiking shoes for more enjoyable trekking. When the sunrises, resting on the edge of the crater at an altitude of 2386 meters and enjoy the best panorama of the world’s largest acidic lake with its magnificent turquoise colored water.
Ending the tour, drop off to BaliAfter enjoyed the natural scenery at Crater of Ijen and then descend the slope of Mount Ijen back to the base camp.Driving back to the hotel, you may enjoy rain forest scenery with unique giant fern trees and several coffee plantations on the way. Takes 2 hours of drive until we arrived at the hotel. Between 10:00 – 10:30 AM, checking out from hotel and go to Ketapang harbor and take ferry to reach Bali island. After one hour at the ferry, you will be picked up at the arrival gate of Gilimanuk harbour by the driver who will take you to drop off location. Day 3

The sunrise appears at 5.15 am, you can see the real beauty of the sunrise on Bromo as well as views of the rows of Mount Batok, Bromo and Semeru.
Once you are satisfied enough and the sun is starting to rise, the journey continues towards the Bromo sea of sand. The Bromo sea of sand is a jeep stop before visitors continue on foot/horseback to the Bromo crater.
The distance from the Jeep parking lot in the sea of sand to the Bromo crater is around 1.5 km. Riding a horse is one quick way to reach Bromo crater.
After finishing from the Bromo crater then return to the jeep parking lot, and the jeep will take you back to your hotel. Arriving at the hotel, have breakfast, shower, pack our luggage and preparations for transfer to Ketapang, Banyuwangi with a travel time of around 5-6 hours driving. Arrive at the port to Bali and the tour is finished.
