10 Most Effective Ways To Choose A Blog Name
Tumblr media
Looking out for some good blog names? A name that is catchy, short, easy to remember and spell?
You have landed on some good collection of tips. These tips will guide you through some short processes by following which you will end up getting a catchy name for your blog and avoid the headache of naming problem.
A blog name is a name you give to your blog for its identity. Blog names should always be simple and easy to remember so that people can memorize it and spell it well.
In order to choose a good and catchy blog name for your blog and website, I have shared here some most effective tips. Read them on!
1. Find Your Passion
Blogging is all about passion and patience. I always mention this line in my articles.
In order to choose a suitable blog name, you first should find out your field of passion. What you love to do more and do not feel tired is referred to your passion. Whether you are thinking to blog on fashion, travel, gadgets and technology, cooking, etc. you need to choose a name that goes perfect for your niche of blogging.
For example, if your blog is about travel related posts, you won't want a title on cooking, right? Your blog title should be like 'TravelGuide', 'ThirtyTraveller' or somewhat of that kind. Blog title plays a crucial role in defining the niche of your blog to your readers.
2. Try to Include The Main Keyword
The keyword is a word that tells what your blog contents are all about. From the perspective of SEO, the keyword is a word people put on search engines frequently to find a particular topic. They are also known as "search queries".
When choosing a blog name keep in mind that your blog name is made up of at least one keyword.
For example, if your blog teaches about SEO, the title of it should be like 'seolovers', 'seoagents', or maybe like 'seostream'. This will help search engines like Google identify the ideal websites and therefore present them to other people who searched them.

3. Avoid Brand Names and Trademarks
A brand name or trademark is a sign or image that represents a particular company. Like Microsoft, Lamborghini, Apple, Samsung, etc. They each own a different symbol to represent their companies.
When considering a blog name, always avoid these types of trademarks and brand names. Using trademark results in a violation of copyright and can bring about a negative effect on your site.
For example, if you love driving or riding Audi and want to create a blog on it keeping a title like 'ilovemycar' is far better than a title like 'ilovemyaudi'. Believe me, this will make a good sense for your blog.
4. Pelt a Glance at Your Competitors' Sites
While this might seem to be a cakewalk or something like a no-brainer, however, this will help you weave an idea about how your competitors have chosen their blog names and getting along well with them.
Look at some of your favorite bloggers' creation, understand how they gave blog titles and above all come up with a catchy name for your blog. This tip will help you make a jerk within your creative juice!
5. Don't Be Too Specific
You will always want to see your blog evergreen and not outdated, right? Hence you have to decide the title in a very judgmental way. Do not ever go with a title that is bound to lose its importance after some period of time. Especially if you are blogging for making money it becomes a financial matter for you.
Say, you have of late traveled a particular place in India. Let's say the place in Delhi and you want to share your experience with others via a blog. Here lies the trick!
Choosing a title like 'ilovetravel' is far better than a specific title like 'ilovedelhi'. It seems to be narrow, too. Moreover, this type of blog is not going to aid you to publish posts in the future on other places you have traveled.
