Y’all need to look up the meaning of satire and trope cuz this is ridiculous 😭. The American Society of Magical Negroes is a satirical film about the magical negro trope often used in media. Satire means that it will be making fun of the trope and even criticizing it. These types of movies/books usually only have one Black character and it often requires said Black character to do heavy lifting for the white character(s). It’s literally what happened in Ghost with Whoopi Goldberg. As much as we might like the movie it’s true. I also have a post about Rhapsodic by Laura Thalassa and that trope goes crazy in that book. The Black character most likely will be portrayed to be stereotypical or 50/50 wind up dying, teaching the white character some sort of lesson, and then being forgotten until it’s convenient or completely while the white MC gets some sort of power up and their arc is completed. I promise it’s not gonna hurt you to laugh at how stupid it is. I’m also pretty sure Key & Peele had a skit about this.

I get being mad that you want better for black women and who they are with. But am I the only one that doesn't like that people make this a big deal. Like Keke and Darius and Halle and DDG. Cause now people have them both trending where if people would have just ignored those men's tweets people wouldn't be shading Keke and Halle. Cause it just seems fake that people say they love them but yet are not afraid to talk about them in a shady way. Where they trend and become a headline now for negative stuff. Like at the end of the day we don't know these people and how many of them act behind the scenes. But I will say this is why a lot of celebs especially black women keep their relationship private cause people will judge them for who they CHOOSE to date and that will be the story and not their talent.
Tumblr media
I mean....honestly, when you're a celebrity and are in the public eye, unfortunately, people ARE going to talk about you and your relationships. That's just part of the territory? 🤷🏾‍♀️
It doesn't matter if you're black OR white, we all talk about all kinds of celebrities here on my blog, and just in general online lol. 😅 Most of it is just harmless fun/gossip/discussion.
I'm not really seeing people hating on Keke as much as I've been seeing people hating on her bf...calling him "unemployed" and not liking his comments/tweets lol.
Of course Keke's name is gonna trend because she's the bigger star. Same with Halle. 🤷🏾‍♀️
These women chose those men (so true), but so far, (at least for ME), my thought about Halle has been that she can do so much better. Many others agree. It hasn't been any hate/dislike towards HER. Idk much about Darius, so I honestly can't speak for him. 🤷🏾‍♀️ But even if he turns out to be a turd, my thought wouldn't be to hate on Keke... It would be: "Get away from that turd of a man!" LOL. 😅
With this recent thing regarding Keke/Darius, I'm not even making any judgements about him really...I'm just chuckling at the fact that he tweeted that stuff cuz obviously he was in his feels about that Usher serenade lol. It's kind of embarrassing that he just called her OUT like that on Twitter instead of just talking things over with her PRIVATELY, but hey... it is what it is lol. That's HER man, not mine lol 😅 So.... If she doesn't mind, why should I??
Instead of blaming fans for "making a big deal" about this stuff, why not blame these men who are out here embarrassing their gfs on worldwide social media and twitter?? 👀👀
Fans are only responding to what these MEN are posting.... 👀
