New Fic coming vv soon!
If you are looking for a motorcycle/carshow Hyungwon fic- you have came to the right place.
I am not kidding to you guys when I say I wrote a Hyungwon fic from 3pm this evening to 3am almost 4am today. Although I did take a collective of a four break. I am being absolutely honest when I say it is completely self-indulgent. I'll give you some foreground rn. I always go to a car show with my dad in the winter/spring part of the year. It's huge, well sometimes he'll start talking to someone and brain has always imagined what'd be like to be with a s/o. And I always told myself I'd write a fic- and I've been saying that since I was kid. And finally motorcycle Hyungwon has reached levels of brain rot that are unimaginable so I can write them down. If you are reading this Kebbi- you know how bad it is. I am not joking. So, I have one last read over tomorrow with a clear mind and I'll be ready to post it. (I'll prolly cue it for 10:00 Monday Morning est tbh!)
I just wanted to let you know that it has not let me rest. I literally incorporated so many parts/aspects of it that I could, it's insane. Although, I tried not to make it pertain to me and tried to make it like the average person's favorite cars. So, I didn't include any of my favorite cars (I'm not kidding when I say I've been going to this car show since I was in a stroller) (If you are wondering two of my favorites are the Galaxie 500 and the 65' fast back mustangs). So this is vv reader friendly just absolutely self-indulgent if that makes any sense!
And I know some may not be as knowledgeable in cars, so I really tried to make it simple! I will include a foreword. So, like certain things are explained! If any other terms need to be explained, please send me an ask or a message. (Because some things I don't think need an explanation- may need one!)
Lastly, if I'm not careful my brain will make me continue to write this until I'm no longer on brain rot- but on brain dead.

(a BIG mix of non–brainrot asks so i don't spam the timeline <33 some of these are from so long ago i'm so sorry. also lil disclaimer at the end about some specific asks i've been getting recently and why i won't be answering them! x)
1) !!?? you REREAD IT?? my heart wtf that's so sweet??? 😭💗 THANK U SM i will do my best to not let u down with future chapters even if shit gets a little bit angstier SDJKG <33
Tumblr media
2) LMAO backseat gala–ing from the comfort of a couch 😭 judging the outfits as if they don't show up in plain tuxes half the time <3
Tumblr media
3) <3333 thank u omg sjgkdk i'm so happy if my lack of stfu ability brings any bit of joy to anyone LOL
Tumblr media
4) ILY THX LEGEND @air-exec u enable me too much <33
Tumblr media
5) ALWAYS HAPPY TO INDULGE!! thank u for indulging my constantly rotting brain ur so kind 😭 <333
Tumblr media
6) yaurrr i think it's just bc i do Not enjoy being around children LMAO i can't ever get into pregnancy/family dynamic type fics in general, i wish i could tho bc they're so wholesome :') but YEAH exactly ugh. it's like. the action of talking about it, especially when it's unattainable, is so intimate bc it's like an "i love you this much" thing. but it's also so hot bc the possession of it (and possible feminization depending on the pairing) sighhh
also i feel that sooo hard, sometimes you just gotta go where ur writing heart takes u yk? it's hard to write something if ur not fully invested :') and omg stop i WILL cry. 😭💗 wtf. thank YOU!! ofc i would read!! some ideas just /hit/ and urs is one of them <33 but also yes omg it's UP there (if not at the top) on my list of pwps i wanna write once i finish yad(iym) <33 thank you for sharing urs too and sending u good writing vibes regardless of what u write!!
Tumblr media
7) GAHH this ones been on my ao3 read later since u sent this ask in!!! i literally have started a doc with links to moots fics i need to read/general fics i've stumbled across that look good and this one is for sure going in it. i do love reading sooo much, i just have the hell combo of adhd and dyslexia but i did start concerta a couple weeks ago which has def made it a bit easier to read lmfao thank fuck.
i think i just get in this headspace where i'm either a reader or a writer when i'm working on smth, idk if anyone else does this? i have a hard time slipping btwn both mindsets, i'm usually locked in on one at a time LOL but i need to get my shit together bc fuck everyone in this fandom writes so damn good and i want to leave long essays on all the fics and hype people up <33 i think once i finish the dog fic i'll take a few days to just consume my reading list to celebrate SJDGK
also omg i can't believe this ask is from before i even posted it that's crazyyy MY BAD. thank u and also that made me giggle JSKDG if that's my legacy in this fandom i'm honestly so happy ab that okay dog coded bucky is everything to me and i will do whatever i can to do him justice <333 and thank u again for the rec!
Tumblr media
8) [ X ] UGHHH stop mammal RUINED me. he's soososoo pretty i want to die i think about that barry era as curt in the motaverse so often it makes me sick. i love pretty twinks!! xx (i have a whole motaverse au curtbucky where curt looks like 2012–ish barry and he's ken's age and they're cute lil mechanics together and it's so stupidly elaborate and niche and maybe i'll do smth w it one day who knows)
Tumblr media
9) this is very sweet and i do appreciate you respecting my boundaries! thank you <3 i think a lot of people get annoyed at adults asking minors not to interact with nsfw posts on here bc the argument is always "they're gonna look even if you ask them not to" which, yeah, true! i was a teenager growing up online, i sure as hell did not let 18+ warnings stop me ever lmfaoo. i'm not telling minors to stay off my account because ik if people wanna find specific content, they're gonna find it. if teens are learning ab gay sex thru my blog, then at least they're learning ab it from a gay man who tries to keep things realistic in fic and who isn't a creep LOL.
that being said, i more so bar off minors interacting with my nsfw posts/writing bc i personally just feel uncomfortable discussing stuff like that with anyone who isn't an adult, and sometimes i don't have the time to check bios for ages (or sometimes bios don't have ages) before i reply to comments or whatever, so it's just easier to ask that y'all stick to the sfw so i don't accidentally brainrot some cooked shit with a child JSDJKG bc i would feel icky. i hope you understand <3
Tumblr media
10) IT MAKES ME SICKKK. not only that, but when i was rewatching it with my irl last week, i realized that in e5 when bucky's smoking in the plane after gale goes down, he's sitting in the right (gale's) seat, which i'm pretty sure he doesn't do at any other time :((( like he was trying to be close to him in anyway he could </3
Tumblr media
11) omg i've been meaning to watch that just to get a better inside look at stuff for world building purposes lmaooo but that sounds so wholesome :( i read that a lot of the guys would get real sad/touchy around holidays (obviously), so i could see a oneshot where one of them takes it upon themselves to try and cheer everyone up the best they can under their circumstances. a little found family holiday </33
Tumblr media
12) thank u for the rec!! i'm suuuch a slow reader, i'm still working my way thru the actual mota book LOL but i've added this to my reading list <3 i think i might've actually read a couple excerpts from that one in doing research for my fic and it looks really interesting (and heartbreaking) so i'm sure i'll pick up a copy eventually :^)
Tumblr media
13) oh 100% agree!! as someone who already isn't super interested in fashion/pop–culture, i find it very hard to look at the men's outfits and be blown away by any of them LOL but the women?? insane. was losing it over lana and zendaya's fits tonight ngl. hunter had me in a chokehold with last year's <3 tangent alright i always say this to my friends but i'm just jealous in general that women have so many more options in terms of clothes like.
okay listen i know i can leave my house in a skirt or crop top or whatever and a lot more guys are def starting to feel comfortable doing so. but i also enjoy not worrying about getting jumped or looked at funny! it's a lot safer than it used to be to do so, even in my small ass conservative town i'll sometimes put on some dangly earrings or a bit of rodrick–liner SJKDG but that doesn't mean it's normalized yet or whatever. point being that i wish it was because men's outfits would be sm more exciting at these fashion events if they had a wider range of options too!
but that aside, absolutely. until that changes, really it's not that hard for the men who are going with women (who don't want to go crazy with their outfits/who are more lowkey like you said) to just. wear something nice and on theme that compliments their partner's outfit and they'll be FINE. anything is better than something boring with no effort; effort doesn't have to equal crazy and fancy and elaborate. like austin's 2022 look has always been a standout to me because it was still a really nice look (even if it was simple) and it also worked so well because of who he had at his side. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ but i also literally don't know shit ab fashion so i rly shouldn't be speaking on it LOL. i just know some things make me go oh no and some make me go YUM
and that's probs the last i'll post about the met bc i rly don't care thaaaat much, i was just happy to see barry since he wasn't at the panel this weekend <3
OKAY THAT WAS SO MUCH I'M SORRY. i just felt really bad bc some of those have been sitting in my inbox for months bc i was waiting to compile them all into a post like this :-) but also one last thing, idk if it's bc of me stepping out of mota to talk ab the emmy stuff/the met this week, but i've had a couple gossip/drama(?) asks and i just wanna say rn that i won't be posting stuff like that, even though they've been worded kindly! one, because i rly only post about fic/brainrot/mota–fandom related stuff here (aside from rare exceptions like today lol). and two, because as much as i adore our boys and try to keep up with the things they're up to, i personally don't vibe with speculating about them (esp if it's in a way that kinda. forgets they are grown men who probably don't think twice ab some of the stuff that people think they do lolol). i have no issue with people who do like to talk ab that stuff, i follow update blogs and think it's totally fine as long as it's done respectfully! i just don't feel like talking about gossip fits the vibe here and frankly i don't care enough about what goes on behind the scenes half the time; i'm just here to create and support and be insane. <33 that's all, just wanted to say that so ppl aren't waiting to have those asks answered/aren't sending more in! x

I remembered you talking about the “Good Guy Garon” mod for Fates and how stilted the dialogue in the first chapter was, saw some videos of how it changes the story on Youtube, and i'm... not impressed.
To answer your question back on that post, yes, Garon's still possessed by Anankos and does bad things during the story because of him, presumably including kidnapping Corrin, but the mod writer changed how it works in the story so Garon's nice side is his default state at the start of the game, with him pivoting back and forth between “nice guy” and “tyrant” seemingly at random due to Anankos taking direct control. It really doesn't add much to the story other than changing scenes when Garon's being a dick from “oh Garon's being an asshole” to “oh Garon's being an asshole, but then he interrupts himself to tell the audience how sad he is at being forced to do these bad things and that he really likes his children, and then he goes back to being a dick and does the exact same morally fucked-up thing he did in the base game”.
I get that a lot of people don't get/like the reason the Nohrian siblings side with Garon, but the only things these scenes add to me, aside from spelling out the fact that Garon was a good person prior to being possessed repeatedly, is confusion as to how the Nohrian siblings haven't already figured out that there's something seriously wrong with Garon when he keeps constantly 180’ing on his personality; them thinking that Garon's just having a tough time due to poor health and that's why he's been more ruthless for a while is one thing, but blatant and constant psychotic attacks SHOULD be pretty undeniable evidence that there's something more wrong with him than just depression.
I get that the mod writer wanted to keep Conquest's story roughly the same, and that Garon doing morally reprehensible things is an integral part of why half the story even happens, so they realistically couldn't really do much more than adding dialogue of Garon being regretful for the things he does when he's possessed, but maybe that should've been the first red flag that trying to make a villain into a good guy without changing the original story too heavily, when large swathes of the original story are entirely dependent on said villain being ireedemably evil, might just have been a bad idea.
The other changes aren't too noteworthy in comparison, at least from what i've seen; The Hoshidan siblings (especially Ryoma) have their racism and bloodthirst towards Nohrians dialed up to 11, along with doing slightly more shady stuff (e;g they forcefully kidnap the Rainbow Sage from where he was living in a nearby town to take him to the mountain fort to keep him from being used by Nohr, which doesn't make much sense given that the Sage lives in the mountain itself last i checked but w/e); and Corrin agrees to go with Ryoma at first when he threatens Elise only to change their minds less than a minute later when Laslow and Peri show up, which is both nonsensical, because the only things they do is kill some Hoshidan soldiers, say that a Hoshidan never keeps their word, and tell them to keep smiling, meaning that murder, racism and a lame metaphor is enough to convince Corrin to stay and fight even if it means Elise dying in the process, and takes away from a good character moment for Corrin in the actual game, since that's supposed to represent Corrin being willing to stand their ground to fight for their dreams and what they believe in, no matter the risks.
Making Hoshido morally worse is the basic-bitch “fix” that any normie Fates critic always suggests doing, 9 times out of 10, so it doesn't surprise me that that was changed for the mod, but having Corrin surrender to Ryoma is baffling to me; what does this add aside from contradicting their character in the previous chapters by making it so they fold at the slightest bit of resistance or risk of death to themselves or their comrades, when they were perfectly willing to do so before when they put their own troops at more danger by ordering them to incapacitate the enemy soldiers, which still happens in this mod btw, and taking away their agency and character growth?
All in all, bad mod.
This is very vindicating to hear, anon. Cuz that's my major problem with people's issues with Fates' "problems with Gray Morality". People who try to fix the game's plot often just make it worse, because their idea of Gray Morality is either "make them flip flop between good and asshole at the most convenient times" or "make the outright good guys slaughter puppies for some reason". They don't know how to make Garon morally gray in the story and have it make sense, nor do they know how to make Hoshido less spotless other than tune up something that already exists to levels of parody that you'd only see on Gamefaqs threads.
And yeah like wtf, why do they wanna take away more of Corrin's agency, the crux of Conquest's plot is that he already doesn't have much agency with Garon breathing down his neck? I thought most people's issues with Corrin in CQ was that he was "spineless" so why rewrite him to be a little bitch that goes back on his decision when that chapter was one of the more prominent instances of Corrin standing his ground?

In 1995, Tommy Tune, the lovable God of Broadway, broke his foot on a tryout tour of a new musical called Busker Alley.
During his convalescence he managed to write a tell-all personal memoir, Footnotes* (Simon & Schuster), and cut a lushly produced romantic album Slow Dancin' (RCA Victor).
In his candid, humorous and heart-felt book, Mister Tune reveals elements of his life that may surprise some, mostly about his sexuality and the history of his family (one of his grandfathers, after having a bad day on the farm, killed all his hired hands, shot Grandma, and then himself).
Although his sexual identity may be ambiguous, he's been labeled "gay" by publications such as The Advocate.
This label doesn't completely suit the entertainer, he writes of a mysterious, very, very famous female he calls "Jane" who he claims was the great love of his life.
During his publicity tour for both of these projects, the 6'-6" toast of Broadway made a stop to his Texas homeland.
At the Aldolphus Hotel here in Dallas, Tommy Tune stretched his tall alien-esque physique along a deep, comfortable couch to be interrogated by yet another interviewer.
His voice is soothing, soft and gentle — not unlike the way John Ritter sounded in Sling Blade.
He looks you right in the eye when he speaks, and you can't help but fall into his gaze and be entertained, by the innocent, adolescent glee he possessed when he was just a chorus boy arriving in New York City to audition for his first show — Irma LaDouce.
Now 58 years old, the remarkable, award-winning dancer, actor, director, choregrapher, author, singer is still a gentleman first and foremost.
Dallas Voice: So we're from the gay press.
Tommy Tune: Oh wow. Are you hostile or friendly?
DV: Oh, we're vivacious and clever and funny.
TT: I was interviewed for The Advocate, and the writer wrote an article that was very friendly, but he turned it in and The Advocate rejected it. So he had to go back and write it again and make it into something else. The Advocate wanted to write their own story. Many times people want to write their own stories before they've interviewed you. Texas Monthly did an article on me and the writer had already written it before he'd interviewed me. But that's | their story and not my story. But he went right ahead and wrote it anyway, f (Laughs)
DV: I read The Advocate article, and it said you're officially coming out.
TT: What makes for an official com- ing out? I don't get it because I don't consider that I've ever been anything but myself. No one has ever asked, but that was then. When I was moving in to my success and celebrity, nothing was ever said because we were living in this severe double standard where it was "don't ask, don't tell" — we won't ask and you don't tell. Something like that.
DV: Would you consider yourself gay?
TT: Well, that's part of the story, but not all of it.
DV: How would you describe your sexuality?
TT: Pan-sexual.
DV: Because in Footnotes*, you said the only real love relationship you had was with the mysterious "Jane."
TT: Well, that was my great love. There are other women that I didn't talk about. I didn't talk about everything in the book. I sort of did some literary channel-surfing through what I was experiencing as I was working to heal my foot and that's what came out. It's not the full story, I would say it's excerpts from the score.
DV: About "Jane", did you want to name her, but legally couldn't or...
TT: I chose not to. She's happily mar- ried now and I'm a gentleman.
DV: Because I'm dying to know who it is.
TT: The name really isn't important. The heart part is what I experienced and was able to experience. Of course, at the time, I do remember asking her, like I said in the book, is this relation- ship gonna be forever? And it turned out that it wasn't and it ended. I didn't know how good it was until I started taking stock at this point in my life. Then I realized that was the most suc- cessful, intimate relationship I've ever had.
DV: When I got to the part about "Jane," and I realized: Tommy Tune isn't gay. I don't hold a lot of faith in sexual labels, and I don't know if labels are even ideal.
TT: I don't go for labels, sexual or otherwise. I've just added two new labels to my life. I was a song and dance man, a director, a choreographer, an actor, and now I get to add two more: author, and now I have a CD. I keep adding labels. So I think you can be anything.
DV: At your first Tony awards cere- mony, you took your boyfriend (Michel Stuart) with you, and you were seated apart from each other. The television cameras avoided you as a couple, but then you won Best Featured Actor in a Musical. If you were gonna re-do that moment, know- ing that you were being treated that way, would you have demanded better seats? Would you have played that sit- uation with a little more purpose?
TT: Again these are all stairway thoughts — where what you should have said or done occurs to you after you've left the room and it hits you as you're walking down the stairs. The Tony awards was all stuff I put together as I was writing Footnotes*. Michel Stuart and I never discussed it, but as I was writing Footnotes* it came to me and I thought it was important. I was surprised by what I wrote in this book, because I've never taken an intermis- sion in my career. I've always been lucky enough to be working on one show and have two more on the back burners. This accident occurred and it gave me a chance to take stock, and I was obviously harboring this resent- ment, but it had never come to the front until I took the pen in my hand and started to write.
DV: Is The Rosie O'Donnell Show a stop on this publicity tour?
TT: No it's not, and I don't know why.
DV: Well, I'm wondering. Until now you've been very much family- fare entertainment, but now you've become the candid Tommy Tune and been labeled as being publicly out. Has the scope of publicity for Footnotes* changed because you've violated the don't ask, don't tell rule?
TT: I don't know. Footnotes* just came out this past week, so I don't know what the far-reaching effect and rever- berations will be.
DV: Well, you're a Broadway god. I would think that Rosie would be dying to have you on her show.
TT: This is interesting, I saw Rosie at the opening of Titanic. She said, 'How's ontinued from Page 21 your foot?' and I said, 'It's well.' And I said, 'Congratulations on the show, you're such a huge success!' And we were loving Titanic. Then she asked, what I had been doing. I said, 'Rosie, I wrote a book while I was getting my foot back.' She said, 'You'll come on the show, we'll sell it.' So I said, 'Great! Wonderful! Thank you!' Am authors dream. So the publicity woman called The Rosie O'Donnell Show and for about a month they hedged, and then finally it faded out.
DV: Well, Rosie is someone who's sort of sexually correct. And I get the feeling that there's that don't ask/don't tell policy surrounding her. How would you feel if someone told you there was a don't ask/don't tell policy about the publicity of this book?
TT: Well, I answer whatever ques- tions they ask me, and every interview that I've done for this book, including The Today Show with Katie Couric, has talked about sexuality. Which means that even though I think it's a small part of the book, it's not a small part of our lives in America today. It's a big deal. But it's not a big deal to me. I go to sleep at night very peacefully. It's not a big deal to me, but it is to everyone else.
DV: If you were asked not to talk about it, would it be a big deal to you?
TT: I think that whatever is appropri- ate for whatever forum is the right way to go. And there are big secrets that I wrote about in Footnotes* that were very comfortable writing about. But they're not things that I would be comfortable discussing on a television show. This book is a personal memoir, but now the readers have it. Some of it is unspeak- able, but it is writeable.
DV: You've even built a safety net for readers for when you discuss the more sordid parts in Footnotes*, you tell them to skip to the next part if they're going to get offended.
TT: My publishers suggested that I take it out. But I thought it was all right. If you truly don't want to know about that aspect, then move on. I doubt that there's anybody that would read that little warning and not read the dirty parts.
DV: How do you dance with anoth- er man?
TT: I guess it's like having sex with another man — you sort of get into it. Who's going to lead and who's going to follow, and then you switch off, I guess. I've always been the leader because I'm so big, but I'm learning to follow. Dancing is like making love anyway — it's a very intimate act. You just have to be sensitive to the other person.
DV: You're 58 years old and I'm 28. You moved to New York City when you were young and virile. Tell me about being homosexual in the pre- AIDS sexual heyday. Am I missing much?
TT: Well, sure. And I'm sorry. I hope that just because we were so free and wild that we didn't spoil it for everyone else. I think that it must be hard because everyone wants to live life to the fullest.
DV: Well, I don't really know the difference. All I know is that this other history existed, and I don't really know what I'm missing. But you and Andy Warhol did cum facials togeth- er?
TT: (laughing) Oh lord! (more laugh- ing) There was an interview on New York television and the guy interview- ing me was just an in-the-closet-Ivy- Leaguer or a homophobe. And most homophobes, you look past it, and you say — they have a problem with this. Me thinks they doth protest too much. But this interviewer was saying, 'Well, if this memoir ruins your career, you can always write pornography.' And I said, 'Do you think it's pornographic?' And he said, 'Just the part about you and Andy Warhol.’
DV: Are you gonna do a performing tour for your album Slow Dancin’?
TT: None of that music is per- formable. It's much too mellow. That's what was so interesting about doing Slow Dancin'. I've never sung that qui- etly before. I usually belt them out to hit the back row of the balcony. This is what was so interesting about making an album, because I wanted it to sound like I was singing in your ear.
DV: I didn't think I was going to like your album. But then I put it on and it had a really cool, trippy, dreamy quality. There are no big crescendos or surprising climaxes, the whole album has a smooth take-off and nice land- ing. I enjoyed, it. What were you thinking about in the production of Sloiv Dancin’?
TT: We wanted to make an album you could trust. I love to entertain com- pany. My father taught me how to cook, and I'm a really good cook. I like to light the candles, make the food, ice the champagne. And inevitably the door- bell will ring and I've forgotten the music. So I jump into the closet, put on a disc and the first two songs are balla- dy and that will start to set the evening and getting it right. But then the third song is uaually a loud song, and you have to get up and change the CD. So I felt there would be a place in the world for an album that was consistent, and we painted with a narrow pallet. Wally Harper (the producer) kept saying, 'Tommy, I want to give them the feeling without the noise.' He insisted that Slow I guess dancing is like having sex with another man — you sort of get into it. Who’s going to lead and who’s going to follow, and then you switch off , I guess. I’ve always been the leader because I’m so big, but I’m learning to follow Dancin' is for the bedroom, but I said it's for dining. It was the difference between us.
DV: In the book, you give your opinion of a lot of other singers, dancers and entertainers. One person I'd like to know your opinion of is Michael Jackson — both as a per- former and your opinion of his public personality.
TT: I admire him as an artist. I think he's tops! I'd love to work with him. I'd love to make a show with Michael Jackson. All the rest of it is stuff I've read in the newspaper, and I know what's written about me in newspapers and that's not the whole story, and it's not necessarily his either.
DV: You've dealt with a lot of hard times: career disappointments, rejec- tion, deaths of close friends and lovers, and I know suicide is a big part of your family heritage. You say you think about it everyday. Do you think there's a point where you've been accepting of death and ready to die?
TT: Oh yeah, I think I'm there already. I think it's okay. If the plane goes down this evening, on the way to San Francisco — that's okay. It is. But you won't know this until later because I know how I felt at your age.

It's time to see what I can do! To test the limits and break through// no right no wrong no rules for meee// I'm freeeeeeeeee (and i was glad lincoln died)
*silence*
*utter, shocked silence*
Well, Birdie, I only have one thing to say to you --
Why Lincoln Campbell Shouldn't Have Died: A Small Essay By Lily [Redacted]
#1. It’s Lazy. There was all this fuss about how “heart-breaking” Lincoln’s death was, and how it was the most shocking choice, and I’m just like... really? Was it? Because frustrating as it is to me, it’s true that Lincoln didn’t have any significant relationships on the show aside from his with Daisy, and he also didn’t have the time/the writers didn’t invest the time to make him a character the audience could become really close to.
And I don’t see how that’s a shocking choice at all? That’s just taking the easy way out of things. If they had really wanted to make a heart-breaking death, it would have been so much worse to choose literally anyone of the OG team.
Or, heaven forbid, not to make anyone die at all!! (Yes, I hate the Fallen Agent arc. Yes, that’s a conversation for another day.) But think about it: it would have been way more original, way more shocking, to have Lincoln not die, or find a super original/Fitzsimmons-esque way to get past the vision. It could’ve been way more shocking and ultimately satisfying if the whole team had worked together to avoid someone dying, and succeeded in avoiding that. It would have made excellent bonding.
And it wouldn’t have been lazy, because Lincoln staying alive would force him and Daisy to have some tough conversations, i.e. Hive and SHIELD and what’s next. It would also have meant an equal amount of tricky conversations with the rest of the team - especially surrounding the whole Hive debacle and methods used during it (*coughs in murder vests*). It would’ve actually been much harder than just having Lincoln die... and isn’t that what good storytelling is supposed to do? Make the harder choice for an ultimately far more satisfying resolution?
Because choosing Lincoln to die makes it feel like that was his only purpose on the show, and I can’t help but rage against that. I know that’s how a lot of people actually do see Lincoln, and it just makes me so furious, because that’s actually such a disservice to his character?? He was so much more than just Daisy’s doomed boyfriend, and he could have been even more. Which brings me to my next point -
#2. Wasted Opportunities. I’ll always believe that one of the biggest missed opportunities on the show was that we never got to see Lincoln properly bond with anyone on the team - it was like the writers started, but then decided he was going to die, and then went all, oh, RIP that. Which, honestly, is stupid - because they created this amazing character that had so much potential, and then decided to drop it just like that.
And I mean, dammit!! Aside from Daisy, Lincoln had prime opportunities to bond with at least five other characters on the team - May, Coulson, Jemma, Fitz, and Mack, and that’s not even starting on the other Secret Warriors.
He had a little bit of bonding with May when Lash/Andrew was still a thing - but then, whoops-a-daisy, unequivocally dropped. And like... Lincoln and May could’ve been such a good friendship?? Imagine May initially terrifying the living daylights out of Lincoln, but slowly seeing that he’s not actually that different to Daisy, and he makes her happy? And maybe inviting him to t’ai chi with her, to help control her powers? And him in turn helping give her some closure over Katya Belyakov/telling her that she really did make the only choice? They could’ve developed a mother/son bond just as beautiful as Daisy’s, if AoS had only tried.
Then there’s Coulson. Daisy’s (basically) dad. We got to see a little bit of this, especially in the 3x14-15 era, but I would have loved to see even more of Coulson not-so-subtly threatening Lincoln, but grudgingly coming to accept him as a good agent (and, though he’d never admit it, kinda liking the guy.) Ugh, it could have been so funny and GOOD!!
Fitz and Jemma, to do them in a package deal, could also have been a GREAT BroTP with Lincoln if they had only actually developed it. I would have loved to see a) FitzSimmons initially distrusting Lincoln and being like “if you hurt Daisy...” and then eventually growing to bond with him over science and, well, adoring Daisy, b) a Lincoln-and-Simmons-specific friendship starting after Maveth, for example, Jemma can’t really be around her friends because they keep pitying her and trying to help and she doesn’t want that, so here’s someone new who’s nice and can also distract her with a common interest, and finally c) Lincoln and Fitz bonding over, oh, Daisy, and being ridiculously in love. Just. C’mon. It could’ve been WONDERFUL - and, just think about it, the picture of a Fitzsimmons-and-Lincoln triple alliance out-science-ing Daisy. FAB.
And Mack!! Someone who’s basically Daisy’s older brother, and, I do believe, another one for the Don’t-Hurt-Daisy pile. But Mack’s also very just, and an excellent judge of character, plus he was literally listening in on their first kiss, lmfao. So I think he’d be that “ugh AGAIN you two stop *eye roll*” big brother, but secretly be very happy for them. (I would’ve LOVED to see it, ahhhh.)
Then, of course, the Secret Warriors!! If anyone would listen, I could R A G E for days about how we only had one episode with the Secret Warriors, and that only barely before it all blew apart. But what snippets we had in that one episode!! Lincoln comforting Joey when he gets stressed before a mission. That’s canon. Now imagine Lincoln learning Spanish for both him and Elena (and so the three of them can fuck with Daisy.) And him encouraging them to follow Spanish traditions, because he picked up a lot of “traditions are important” culture from Afterlife. And, of course, them all going to Pride together to support Joey...
My point is just, there is so much MORE AoS could have done with Lincoln’s character, but especially his bonds with the other main cast. Instead of highlighting his relationship with Daisy, I would’ve preferred a lot more focus on his bonds with the rest of the gang. Because, most simply put, he’s a nice guy and loves Daisy - but that’s not all he is, and also, that love for Daisy would mean he WOULD go out of his way to bond with her family. (Point made.)
#3. It Conflicts With The S5 Time Paradox. During the Fallen Agent arc, all we’re hearing about is how time is fixed, and a death is inevitable. And then in season 5, we have the same thing with the time loop... except, they manage to break it then. We’re literally told, “there are many different futures.” And, cool. But, uh... that’s exactly what you guys didn’t say in season 3!!
Because someone saw a death, a death had to happen. My question is just: if the loop could have been broken in s5, why couldn’t the death have been avoided in s3?? It wouldn’t even have been that hard to make it still fit with the vision - Daisy can quake the controls to destroy them, then Lincoln pulls her out of the quinjet, but she leaves the jacket behind. Hive dies, but no-one else - and the best part is, that even still fulfils the original vision, because someone did die. Hive. Click boom.
And if I can figure that out, then, come on, surely AoS could have done so much better!! It just... really frustrates me, hrrrg.
#4. It Becomes A Plot Point To Hurt Daisy. We all like to joke about how much AoS hurts Daisy, but... this is extreme?? Like?? She only just went through probably the biggest trauma of her life, being freaking possessed, and now you want to make her lose someone she loves too? Cruel.
The only real reason the Fallen Agent arc ever existed was, let’s be real, to force Daisy into that spiral of hurt and depression. And, like... she already had more than enough trauma just from Hive. Nobody would have blamed her for running away then - in fact, how very Daisy it would have been, leaving before she could hurt anyone else she loved.
And then, of course, we could have had Lincoln and the team working together to find her and bring her back, and, heyo, bonding!! It could also have been such a good point for Staticquake’s relationship, what with Lincoln helping Daisy recover after depression/withdrawal, because who better suited, and Daisy slowly forgiving herself and them becoming that much more of a deeply caring, solid ship.
So in short - though, 🙈🙈🙈, I suppose I should really say in long, because it would seem I am incapable of doing anything in a short fashion - I don't think anyone should be "glad" about Lincoln's death. If anything, we should all be FURIOUS, and super frustrated, because if he had only lived, there could have been so many excellent storylines, both bonding-wise and regarding THE ACTUAL PLOT (his powers could have been SO HELPFUL, just, argh). Lincoln Campbell should not have died, and I will stand by that till the day I die.

Destiel Chronicles
Vol. LXIX
It was a love story from the very beginning.
I Want You Back (Part II)
(11x16b/11x17)
Hello there! Finally finishing the second part of this meta.
It will focus on the parallel between the entity from the 'Safe House' episode and Amara it’s suggesting. Afterwards we will talk about one of the episodes that were discussed more controversially among us Destiel shippers, I'm talking about 'Red Meat',  and I will show you step by step that it is, indeed, a very Destiel one.
Thanks to @destielle for beta-ing this one! She's amazing. Thank you girl! 😘💝
Soul Eater
Let's talk about that haunting parallel I just mentioned.
If you check episode 11x16, there is this entity from that house that ate souls.
RUFUS: A Soul Eater? What the hell is that?
BOBBY: Undead creature that feeds on souls. Hence the name. They exist in a place between our world and… another. Soul Eater moves into a house, and once it does, it makes what the lore refers to as a ‘nest’.
RUFUS: A place that exists outside of time and space.
//
SAM:The nest looks and feels like whatever house the Soul Eater is in.
The creature created a fake house, like a reflection in the mirror. It’s a fake home in which the entity shows people the souls of the ones they love in different and terrible situations (dead) to keep them under it's dominium. From the moment the seal was broken, the creature attacked again.
SAM: Apparently, the nest messes with their victim's head, shows them things they love, parts of their soul in distress, it keeps the victim's soul vulnerable.
So we have a broken seal, a powerful creature eating souls, a fake reality to keep them dominated, right?
And Bobby saying that he could feel the evil in that dimension…
I think we have the perfect description of Amara here, Dean and Sam broke the sigil, Cain's Mark, and she was released, she eats souls, just like the Soul Eater, creating a fake happiness/reality to dominate the victims/Dean.
Again the writers are showing us that Amara is evil, her dominance over Dean is established through fear.
I think it’s vital to mention that between all the books Rufus and Bobby were reading, there was one with the title "Fallen Angel", it make us recall Castiel and Lucifer with the particularity that they're sharing vessels at that moment. Two fallen angels: one fell due to love and the other due to hate.
Another interesting visual narrative that acted as a foreshadowing, was the soul eater placing a hand on Dean's chest in the same way Rowena will place her hand on him in the last episode of the season where he’ll become a soul bomb.
And now, pay close attention to the following scene, because it’s connected to the next episode (Red Meat).
RUFUS: What'd you see, Bobby?
BOBBY: My boys. Both of 'em. Both of 'em dead. And I saw… well I don't know what the hell I saw.
And…
SAM: Hey, you said the Soul Eater made you see things. Plural. So… what else did you see?
DEAN: I saw you. Dead on the floor.
This was a foreshadowing of Sam laying dead on the floor (well he won’t die, but almost) in the next episode. But it’s A BLATANT MIRROR. BOBBY SEEING HIS SONS DEAD ON THE FLOOR. AND IT’S REFLECTING PURELY FAMILIAL LOVE. A father and his two children who are brothers.
FAMILY LOVE, there's no hint of ROMANTIC LOVE in here, no Wincest! Bobby was actively chosen to pose as the mirror. The writers easily could have used a couple with the husband seeing his wife laying dead on the floor, right? But it was BOBBY who saw his boys on the floor, just like Dean saw his brother. It’s about Family!
Sorry I'm a little bossy here, but I need you to understand this point before jumping to the next one.
Using Logic
Let's analyze episode 11x17 with logical facts…
The mentioning of Castiel at the beginning of the episode is there to remind us that Dean is feeling miserable because they couldn't rescue him yet. And he is not sleeping because of that. Sam is trying to comfort him by saying that they’ll get him back.
The episode introduced Corbin and Michelle, a newly-wed couple very much in love.
Corbin would do anything to protect Michelle (Dean mirror) and he is the one becoming a monster (werewolf), so he’s acting as our Castiel's mirror here.
Sam gets shot, and he has a very bad wound. We have Corbin trying to kill him, because he would do anything to save Michelle, even if that implies making a bad decision.
Now, we have Dean thinking his brother is dead. But keep in mind that WHEN HE ENTERS THE ROOM SAM IS ALREADY DEAD (in Dean’s eyes at leat). So DEAN DIDN'T SEE HIS BROTHER DIE. HE FOUND HIM DEAD, LAYING ON THE FLOOR. (First fact).
Then this… he asks Michelle to assist him in his try to contact Death… but … he also says this ..
Dean: Okay. After I do this, go get the doc and tell her to, um... Tell her to bring me back, if she can. If not... no hard feelings, okay?
He is not suicidal here, THIS IS TOTALLY DIFFERENT TO EPISODE 13X05 WHEN HE WANTED TO DIE, NOT WANTING TO LIVE BECAUSE CAS WASN'T ANYMORE. Even knowing Sam was dead, Dean wanted to live. GIVING YOUR LIFE FOR YOUR BROTHER DOESN'T COUNT AS A SUICIDAL THOUGHT, BUT INSTEAD AS SOMETHING ANYONE WOULD DO FOR THEIR BROTHER, especially when that brother is your little brother you raised yourself like a father. (Second Fact).
Dean wants to be alive because he needs to rescue Cas.
Billie: That's what I thought. It's cute, though. You pretending you're trying to save Sam for the greater good, when we both know you're doing it for you. You can't lose him. But even if Sammy could win the title bout... the answer would still be “no.” The answer will always be “no.” Game's over, Dean. No more second chances. No more extra lives. Time to say bye-bye to Luigi, Mario.
This sums up perfectly how Dean feels about Sammy. He raised him, he always took care of him. He can't lose him because all his life revolved around Sam. This is not Wincest, this is solely FAMILY LOVE. Remember what we said about Bobby a little earlier, these were Bobby's feelings too.
I will put here an addition from Destielle, she talked about the well known toxic codependency, and i think is important too:
"Billie basically calls out the toxic codependency between Sam and Dean here. ‘You’re doing it for you’ she deadpans. It’s more about Dean fulfilling the task, or rather duty, John gave him so early on, that it’s part of Dean’s personality. An automatism. He doesn’t want Sam to live because it was Sam’s wish, but because Dean needs Sam to keep things the way they always have been as so not having to deal with himself."
Is interesting because John Winchester heritage to Dean was the GUILT and the FIRST BORN duty, so practically, he keeps reacting and acting like a soldier that needs to protect the little brother and the entire world, I talked so many times in My metas about this toxic heritage and about THE BIG PROTECTOR living inside Dean. Interesting comment my friend! Thank you!
Dean’s spirit [sadness and desperation in his eyes]: I'm asking you... I'm begging you, please. Bring him back. Bring him back and take me instead.
DEAN WINCHESTER WILL ALWAYS GIVE HIS LIFE IN EXCHANGE FOR THE ONES HE LOVES BECAUSE HE IS DEAN WINCHESTER. NOT JUST FOR SAM, BUT FOR THE WORLD, AND CAS.
Billie: I'm not here to bargain with you, kid. I'm here to reap you. And the kicker is... Sam's not dead. [Dean looks stunned] But you are. Or will be, soon enough.
Now… let's go with Michelle and Dean's conversation… the third fact:
Dean: Michelle, this is gonna be very hard. But you will be okay. And, eventually... eventually you'll get back to normal.
Dean is talking from experience. Drawn from every time he lost a friend, a family member (including Sam) which he always affronted in the same way, by hunting, drinking heavily and stuffing bacon in his face. It always was hard at first but got better with time until he got back to normal. He's talking with determination because he lost a lot of beloved people. But … he hasn’t lost the love of his life yet… Michelle did…

Michelle [sighing]: No, I won't. They said I could leave... [she sighs] an hour ago. But... where am I even supposed to go? After everything we survived together... [turning back to Dean] I watched the man I love die. There's no normal after that.
This is a rich piece of text over there. First of all, she's convincing Dean she won't be back to normal. Ever. She's the one talking with authority now, because she's talking from her experience of losing the love of her life… 'where am I even supposed to go?' SHE'S LOST, Just as lost as Dean will be for the first 5 episodes from season 13. 'After everything we survived together…' these words are carving deep into Dean's heart, because the man he loves is in danger in the very moment, and I know he's recalling everything they survived together. 'I watched the man I love die, there's no normal after that', Dean's face is priceless here, full of fear, he doesn't want to go through the same Michelle has and had to. He doesn't want to watch Cas die. And I want you to remember the first fact I pointed out, MICHELLE IS SAYING SHE WATCHED CORBIN DIE, not that she found him dead. Okay? So we are not talking about a reference to the death of Sam here. Dean didn't watch him die, he found him dead. And secondly, Dean knows Sam is okay by now, so why would he display a face full of pain and fear? Who's the one in real danger now, possessed by Lucifer? CASTIEL. DEAN DOESN'T WANT TO SEE CASTIEL DIE. HENCE THE TERRIFIED EXPRESSION.
AND THAT'S WHY IN THE NEXT EPISODE HE WILL FIGHT AGAINST RATIO, AGAINST WHAT’S THE LOGICAL THING TO DO, JUST BECAUSE HE DOESN'T WANT TO SEE THE MAN HE LOVES DIE. Sorry for the yelling. But I needed to make things clear.
To Conclude:
The Soul Eater in episode 11x16 is a blatant mirror of Amara. Another way to show us her dominance over Dean is a forced and dark one.
Episode 11x17 must be analyzed with logic. The clues are in the details and related to the previous episode in which Bobby saw Sam and Dean dead. It was purely about FAMILIAL LOVE and it must not be mistaken for something else because that just would be a twisted interpretation.
Dean giving his life in exchange for the one of EVERYONE shouldn't be mistaken for suicidal tendencies, too.
The fact that he wanted to go on with his life EVEN THOUGH BEING CONVINCED SAM IS DEAD is an important difference to how Dean is behaving in 13x05.
We have the foreshadowing for Castiel's death and Mourning!Dean and a prelude to 11x18 where we’ll have a very desperate Dean trying to save his angel.
Hope you liked this one! See you in the next meta!
