YES I have finished the film here's my saw thoughts :) can't say I had TOO many of em but regardless

I LIKED IT QUITE A BIT OVERALL I thought it was good :) definitely went in very spoiled for the twists just due to dashboard osmosis but I didn't know any specifics of the plot so I was still rather tense for most of it

the editing truly is the elephant in the room here . I literally couldn't take the scenes of the earlier victims seriously, like the razor wire guy's trap was genuinely rather disturbing 2 hear abt but then it played the video of him in like triple high speed with the camera jumping and spinning around and I actually broke out laughing

also I found it really funny that the first guy's trap was like. "you cut yourself... and now you must... cut yourself" like yeah that tracks that makes sense. contrapasso I get it. and then the next trap was "you faked an illness... so you now must search for a code while walking on broken glass and if you touch this candle... you die" like it was nonsensical by comparison. it had literally nothing to do with the perceived sin. my man jigsaw lost the plot on that one he was just throwin spaghetti at the wall

speaking of jigsaw I have some questions abt his morality. like he's a serial killer so that's beside the point but man what on earth was his deal

I find it kind of funny that I always heard saw touted as an example of 'torture porn' horror movies when I was a kid bc the actual like. graphic violence was pretty light like even the eponymous foot removal happened offscreen. you can tell that no one calling it that had actually seen the film

honestly wrt that last point I might just be a little desensitized but I stand by it, in terms of actual graphic onscreen gore it was pretty tame

AMANDA MY FRIEND AMANDA I know her from the tumblr dashboard I liked her vibes I liked her scary pig mask :) her actress was incredible, her scene was def one of the highlights of the movie for me despite the truly batshit editing

I thought the cloak that john wore in the mannequin factory scene was really funny. like of all the ways to obscure your form and face wearing a spirit halloween wizard cloak is the funniest possible option it made me chuckle

also WHAT was up with cary elwes' weird fancy accent. what was that
