hi im zi im just here to blog about my christian stuff so i dont clog my main blog (im about to reread the bible and you best believe i need to liveblog it somewhere-)

christianity has been really scary for me because of some past experiences (because of me being queer and stuff) but i am back with a vengeance now that i realised i can be both christian and part of the lgbt community. on that note i hope everyone can feel welcome on this blog.

btw if u ever feel insecure abt what ur writing bc maybe its too dark or too weird and maybe ur too mean to the nonexistent fictional characters in ur docs, just imagine theyre literal dolls ur playing with. i know we joke a lot abt how ocs are just dolls we play with but imagining it literally puts a lot of things into perspective. no one gets mad at a guy for dismembering dolls we all understand its just. a doll

im listening to someones commentary on an "alpha male's advice for women" type book AND THIS MAN SAID. AHEM. "a woman can never be strong in the same way a man can, who would ultimately kill to keep his family safe." OKAY. EVERYTHING IS WRONG WITH THIS BOOK. BUT HAVE YOU MET A MOTHER? AND ESPECIALLY IF U BASE UR ENTIRE BOOK ON "NATURE" AND ANIMALS, HAVE U SEEN MOTHERS IN NATURE? UR SO WRONG. UR SO WRONG IF U THINK A MOTHER PROTECTING HER FAMILY ISNT THE MOST VICIOUS THING.

i know its not all mothers. i know in nature too its sometimes an animal's own mother that kills them. but fuck, if u think a mother wouldnt kill for her family, youre a silly person, and also i need to write more women going apeshit to protect others

my favourite unrealistic comfort trope is that if you prod at a character long enough despite them saying they dont want to talk eventually they will have a cathartic breakdown and tell all their problems and then feel better

the "stop writing your characters' dialogue like they're trying to get a good grade in therapy" is so powerful. i edit all my dialogue while keeping that in mind lol i take out a lot of therapy words and think "ok how would i explain this concept if i didnt have a word for it". also sometimes i'm like. ok there's clearly a right thing to say. but is the character in a good mental space to realise that, or are they going to make it worse. and then i make it worse 90% of the time. it's awesome.
