Fic idea that is eating up my brain even though I have 17,000 other wips.

Keeley brings Jamie back to hers after the coffee stalking. Roy strong-arms him into explaining why the fuck he did the show. Which leads to both of them insisting he stays with them because going back to Manchester where his dad can find him is a bad idea.

Because of that emotional turmoil, he hasn’t yet asked Ted about returning. Ted is doing his best to get Roy to come aboard as a coach.

SO THEN:

Roy insists to Ted that the team gets together for a chat. Roy and Jamie both show up, and Roy says that Jamie wants to apologize and make amends. And explain at least a little bit of why he acted the way he did. Some of it was just him being him. But some of it was his dad’s influence.

Putting off Sam trying to become friends because he “doesn’t need friends” according to his dad. Etc.

Jamie is doing it. Says that’s a reason, not an excuse, and he knows the difference. At one point when he’s overwhelmed Roy puts his hand on his shoulder and that bolsters him to get through it all.

Someone finally asks why Roy and Jamie are here, acting like friends, and what the fuck is going on. (Isaac, one captain to another?)

And Roy explains that Ted wants him to coach, and he wants to make sure he puts his name on a team that gets promoted. The best way to do that is to bring Jamie back. Him being gone is what got them relegated.

But Jamie wouldn’t let him suggest coming back until he’d started to repair what he broke. Kind of stuns people that Jamie insisted on letting the team have a say.

Someone asks if taking on Jamie is the condition Roy has to joining. He goes to answer, perhaps even affirmatively, but Jamie answers first. Absolutely not. Just because he and Roy are involved doesn’t mean he’s giving Jamie any slack.

And then his eyes go wide when he realizes what he said. Roy is just looking at him somewhat surprised. Dani fucking gasped. Then demands to know why Roy would ever leave Keeley.

So he haltingly explains that he and Keeley are both dating Jamie. And that he lives with them now. And that he would have disclosed this to management before accepting a position.

Colin “But not to us? We’d just have to wonder why you were giving Jamie special treatment?”

Jamie, after snorting, “Mate, the only special treatment Roy’d give me is doing more laps or drills, not less. You think he’s bad when he doesn’t like you? It’s worse when he does. Expects a lot out of you.”

Roy grunts at that so Jamie smiles just for him and says “Worth it though, innit?”

We desperately need a ship name for Roy x Jamie x Keeley. There's not even a standardized order for their names, which makes them hard to tag.

There's not a great way to combine their first OR last names. Rameeley? Joyley? Koymie? Kamoy? No. Karttones? Tonesent? Jentartt? Nothing sounds good.

I propose something like the ship name for Felicity Smoak x Tommy Merlyn x Oliver Queen (Arrow tv show). Their ship name is Smoaking Billionaires, which combines Felicity's last name (Smoak) with the fact that Tommy and Oliver are both billionaires. And it's punny.

Surely we can do something like Jonesing Footballers, but better. Or maybe something that puns off Tartt? Does anyone have any ideas?

Now that tl s3 is close, people are finding my old posts from last summer and spring again with my insane theories about s3 and it just makes me realize. JUST FINISHED THE TED LASSO FINALE AND AAAAAH. My heart is whole. I loved everything except the beardjane wedding because fuck her and that abusive relationship. Plus we never got Trent and Ted confession but rude I guess

Ok but this is only giving me JamieRoy or JamieKeeleyRoy vibes and I love that for me.

Also roy going to therapy 😭 I’m so proud of him. AND HEADCOACH ROY. Ngl I was nervous they were gonna make Nate coach at the end. And while I love how they handled his redemption I was going to be furious if they gave him a coaching job like that again.

I have so much muse.
