NEW YEARS KISS

Not that Childe doesn't know Kazuha, he's well familiar with the ronin and the feats he'd pulled. The harbingers -- and the fatui had been gossiping about his powermove for some time, and it's part of what drew Childe to Inazuma again. This time, to specifically seek out the ronin.

He's hard to track down, but once Childe does find him, he's... admittedly not sure what his plan is. To get to know him better? To spy on him for the fatui? The second option doesn't sound as much fun, Childe would have more fun fighting him in combat and getting a feel for Kazuha's strength himself rather than through hearsay.

What Childe expects and what reality is are two separate things, as Childe is about to find out. He'd forgotten that it's new years, and that people are going to celebrate in the manner they're accustomed to. On Childe's part, he's not expecting the quick, sudden peck coming from the other man, but it's not entirely unwanted either.

A strange feeling stirs in Childe's stomach. It's that same sense of butterflies he feels whenever the Tsaritsa praises him for a job well done. With Kazuha, it's different. There's no reason for Kazuha to even want anything to do with him, but...

"Oh?" Childe tries to play it cool. "I wasn't aware we were like that, Kaedahara. Maybe I'll have to repay you so we're even."

Childe would still like to spar, but maybe, just maybe. That can come later. For now, he's eager to see if there's more affection where the initial kiss came from.

ayato is truly a simple man. his (giving) love language is very much a mixture of acts of service and physical touch. though he is not the type to utter the words very often, ayato shows his adoration through ensuring his partners want for nothing - whether it be safety, material items, or even the blood of their enemies. what ayato's lovers want, ayato's lovers get.

he is also highly physical, though usually in private. being so pent up all the time, ayato takes particular care to make sure sexual encounters with the person he loves are beyond simple pleasure, but also an experience that can be lived.

basil :   does your muse have a love - hate relationship with anyone or anything ?

yes. his father. thoma has spent years coming to terms with a lot of things, and he's...for the most part, been able to forgive his father for leaving how he did. he understands the man wasn't evil, nor was he abusive or conniving or sinister. he was just a young parent who got scared and didn't want to face a reality he couldn't accept. he actually taught thoma a lot of good skills, like how to fish and tie knots and stand up for himself. his father instilled in him from a young age a sense of loyalty to oneself; to do what you always thought was right. he loves the heritage his father gave him and taught him in pieces over the years. he loves the memories they have.

however, this doesn't negate the fact his father abandoned his 13-year-old son and terminally ill wife because he was afraid of an outcome he couldn't change. what thoma hates the most is the lack of communication regarding the decision to leave. when he left, thoma was under the impression he was coming back. his father even said it would be temporary. but when nearly two years pass with not so much as a letter, thoma realized either something went wrong, or his father had run away. unable to find much of a trace of him when he got to inazuma kind of solidified thoma's assumption, that the man didn't want to be found.

he loves his father for all the lessons he taught him, but he hates him for all the lessons he forgot to say. and he hates him for leaving his mother, who needed him the most.

angelica :   where does your muse draw inspiration in life ?   what motivates them ?

that everything has a purpose. or, everything happens for a reason.

when he was young, a lot of bad seemed to happen all at once. his dad leaving, his mother dying, thoma almost dying himself in his attempt to find new purpose, being homeless for awhile, being an outsider. he lost almost his whole way of life and had to start from the bottom when he was barely 16. the only way any of it made sense to him is if he believed that everything had a reason. it didn't even have to be a happy reason, just one that could teach you something or help someone grow. mistakes weren't mistakes as long as you listened to the lesson. he went through what he went though to be stronger, to form new bonds, and help others. he draws motivation from this all the time, tells himself his actions have meaning and he wants to make all of them count, however large or small they end up being.

he knows it's idealistic and someone more cynical could stab holes in it, but for thoma, it's what kept him going, and still does. everything happens for a reason.

daisy :   did your muse ever feel as though their innocence had been lost ?   what moment in their life could be described as the end of their innocence ?  

it's hard to pinpoint exactly, but if i had to i'd say when his dad actually left. his mother was already sick by then, and her diagnosis was bleak. when he left, thoma was barely 13, and for two years he was the sole caretaker for his mother, whom by the end could barely sit up, much less feed herself. he watched her condition deteriorate and had to work through the emotions that came with it, often in private, as he never wanted to make his mother sad when they were together.

he had help from the church and the knights, i personally hc the raginvindr family helped where they could financially as well, but in essence thoma stopped being a child in order to care for his mom. he cooked, he cleaned, he ran chores, looked after her, while in the background he steadily lost that childlike hope that a miracle would happen, and that someone would save her.

the resemblence isn't striking, but it's enough that he knows.

a kaedehara has stumbled across his path; a family he thought long gone lives on in front of him and for the first time in centuries, hayate feels the urge to reach out to a human being. -- it's a confusing feeling, to want to connect, especially after putting aside thoughts of companionship for so long. he's taken aback by how strongly it hits him. he ducks his head down low enough for the brim of his hat to cover his face and shifts back and forth on the balls of his feet, praying that that's enough to keep this vestige of his past from seeing him.
