I have the Gortash Hireling mod installed and occasionally the game does a really amusing thing. The latest addition to the list being Gortash getting Confused during combat so he was out of my control. He cast Globe of Invulnerability around Durge and then threw a bomb at the last remaining enemies and killed them

I didn't want to put the cloak Sceleritas gives Durge on my Durge bc I like the storm sorc clothes as they are, so I gave it to Gale bc he looks nice with a cloak. And I can just imagine Sceleritas not only having to hear Durge regretting killing innocents and not wanting to do that again, but also witness Durge immediately giving the boon from his father (which he dyed) to the good-aligned ex-chosen of another god that he fancies

In Honour Mode I rarely ask Gale for kisses bc I'm too afraid I'm going to accidentally press the breakup option and not being able to reload

Having Gortash as a hireling makes for some hilarious situations where people are talking about him while he's standing right there and whatnot, but other times it's accidentally amazing like this:

sorc!Durge and wizard!Gale failing an Arcana check only for Gortash to pass it bc he recognizes the ritual circle is infernal in nature

Yesterday I got Withers and got to lv 3 which means I get hirelings now and can finally start the Only Casters part of this Honour Mode playthrough. I was thinking of doing only sorcerers but I decided to leave Gale as a wizard. So it's him + default Durge sorc, Gortash hireling sorc + a hireling sorc (who I wanted to be modeled after my custom Durge Lucas but the Gortash mod replaces the high half-elf who I needed for Lucas so I can't have them both :/ )

Gave Gortash one of the camp clothes that kinda look like his usual outfit but I think I'll look for another mod which gives him the exact outfit (as camp clothes)

I started my Honour Mode playthrough yesterday and made sure to get 4 inspiration points before attempting to get the future husband Gale out of the portal in case I manage to supremely fuck that up. That went great!

The grove, however....

I really should've read the description on the Friends spell better bc I used it on Kagha to persuade her to not kill Arabella, which started a fight, which led to the grove people mascaraing the teiflings... so far, so shit. Here's the moment to mention that I managed to get into a fight with Zevlor (which I escaped, getting 2 companions in jail as a result) using the same spell earlier but didn't realize what has happened.

Then I went into the owlbear cave, looked at the owlbear's hp and decided that yes, I can win this fight. Sike! Owlbear now has a mate so that's 2 bosses. Managed to kill one, as I knew I could. The mate kicked my ass tho. So 1 companion survived to cheese it out of the cave and go beg Withers to resurrect the others. Luckily I had sold all my looted stuff to the grove merchant so I had money bc there isn't another merchant available in the locations I've discovered and the grove got locked up.

The irony of me making a bard with super high charisma so I can talk my way out of situations only for that to get me into way worse situations isn't lost on me...

All in all - if you want a stressful playthrough where you're forced to face the consequences of your own dumbass actions, I highly recommend Honour Mode lmao

Gortash Hireling update from my 3 sorcerers/1 wizard honour mode playthrough that nobody asked for:

Yesterday I accidentally had Gortash Thunderwave Durge off the top floor of the Arcane Tower lmao And since for some reason the Gortash hireling is kinda buggy in my game, he doesn't have the "Help" action so I had to resort to throwing a potion at Durge after flying down to save him but man,, he threw him off the the top floor AND then refused to help him 😂

Also, I gave Gortash a crossbow bc it's fitting and also I thought I might at some point need to use it to try and poison an enemy to sleep. So I fought the Spectator and not only did the poison apply well BUT the Spectator also got Baned as a result of an ability of the crossbow I completely missed:
