i still think a lot about how technically, it's implied Anubis and Walt started dating each other before they asked out Sadie, and if Sadie had said she wasn't interested they would have gone "Entirely fair have a nice day" and proceed to just go continue to date each other.

Cause like, that was the entire thing. They decided that themselves. That things would work best if they were together (as in both physically sharing a body and also relationship-wise). The "asking Sadie about it" part was secondary. If she had said no, they would have stayed together, because among other things Walt would kind of die if they didn't. Walt and Anubis are technically the first gay couple in the Riordanverse. AND they're in a polyamorous relationship with Sadie. Why does no one talk about them ever.

Yeah the point of the post for me was basically "I'm a queer creator, who, outside of word of god, may not be able to state specifics of identities other than vaguely not straight/cis, and that is one of the reasons word of god can't just be discredited as authors being fake woke" like word of god for ppl like JKR or even teams of writers for shows is VASTLY different than, say, what rick riordan did. He made a character in text mlm, then stated he was gay, not bi/pan/etc, on twitter, thus firming up a queerness already in text implicitly.

A lot of writers WANT to have more queer and generally diverse casts, as well, but many who are straight and cis may not know the ins and outs, thus ending up with characters who are aro or aroace treated or called simply ace such as the example you had given me. But, once more, that's often out of ignorance rather than malice on the creator's part. (Please do go for the throats of fans who erase aromantic characters aro identities tho bc that shit's willful more than half the time.)

Aaaand as for my writing I don't post much actual original works online due to the fact I am in the publishing process (no matter how early on), but i have a blog where I'm trying to be more active for my novel as a promo situation that is @wearethestarsseries as well as my main blog that I often let people DM for stuff like this which is @cipheral
