a/n: HI!! i feel bad for not writing;; writer’s block is STILL kicking my ass and my life just continues to be chaotic. this, for some reason, took me a long time to write but i hope you like it!! 

      “stay just like that!” you hear someone yell, and look around in an attempt to find the source. you spot a man, a gorgeous man, smiling from ear-to-ear at you from the path in front of the field. he’s tall, and wears a soft beige cardigan. the tight white shirt underneath shows off his figure amazingly, as well as the light-wash jeans that fit loosely around his long legs. an expensive looking camera is held in his right hand, the strap of it is hung comfortably around his neck. you look in shock for a moment, surprised that someone like him would be speaking to you. “wh-what?” you stammer, taken aback. “there’s a breeze coming in a moment,” he announces. you furrow your eyebrows, suddenly aware of the way the clean air is quite still between the two of you. mingyu notices your confusion and chuckles; it’s a simple laugh, bubbling up from deep in his chest, but to you it’s the most beautiful song you’ve ever heard. “you’re standing in the most colorful part of the field, and your outfit matches the colors really well. i’d love to take your picture as it blows through, if you’ll let me.” he smiles when he ends the proposal, sharp canines shining brightly in between his strawberry-colored lips. with warm cheeks, a small grin makes its way onto your face, eyes forming crescents as your nose scrunches slightly. you observe the field, seeing the different shades of orange, yellow, and red stand out greatly against the pale green of their stems and the grass in between them. 

     “but i don’t even know your name!” you remind him, and he laughs in disbelief then looks towards the ground. he’s shocked that he forgot to tell you, even slightly embarrassed. after a shake of his head he looks back up, “sorry for my manners, it’s mingyu.”. mumbling a short “don’t apologize”, you smile again and reach you hand out. he closes the gap between you both, extending his own hand. now that he’s in front of you, you take a short moment to admire him. the way his hair has been rustled a bit from the previous gusts of wind, how his face gleams under the springtime sun, and how he smells a bit like jasmine.

     snapping back to reality, you introduce yourself. “nice to meet you, mingyu. i’m ___.” you say confidently. feelings of shyness slowly wash away as you begin to feel comfortable around him, he’s warm and inviting. he makes you feel at ease — something you internally thank him for. the man, whom you now know to be mingyu, repeats it under his breath, telling himself that he could definitely get used to the way it rolls off his tongue. a large hand hugs yours, warm and soft.

     after a firm shake of your hand, mingyu clears his throat. “the zephyr should be coming soon,” you nod, noting how beautiful the unfamiliar word sounds. “so i’m assuming you’ll let me take your picture?” he teases with a cock of his head. “oh- yeah! absolutely! forgot to say that...”  mingyu takes a few diagonal steps away from you and holds the camera to his eye. feeling the gentle wind rush beside you, a squeal erupts from your throat and you look to mingyu in excitement. smiling widely, he yells “strike a pose!” to which you do.

     you never thought that your supposed-to-be-10-minute stroll in the nearby field would turn into this, but you definitely weren’t complaining.
