Dia is part of the Cristo Bloodline, one of 3! The bloodline shares the electrokinesis, meaning Ziolah and Luxein ALSO have it. But Jodiah is the only one with heart problems!
Why is that? Because the electricity builds as their heart beats, and it’s emotion-based. Electricity can be created but it needs somewhere to GO. Luxein uses his powers all the time- he uses it to supercharge (and ultimately fry) the engines he works with. He has more scars because of it. Luxein, similarly to Dia, experienced a rough life, lost his partner, in a rough place, managing best he can. He has unpacked trauma. But, he uses his electricity OFTEN, meaning it never builds up. Dia never uses it unless he has to- meaning it builds, and builds, and builds, until he dispels it or faints. He has enough of a storage to kill a fuchsia. He doesn’t use it on purpose. His mask is the only thing that he uses it for as a failsafe. He doesn’t necessarily NEED to be hot 24/7, but its a safety thing. If anything happens, the energy is there. It’s like a person keeping their nails long, or having a spare key to hold between their fingers when walking.
Ziolah doesn’t have issues because she had the opposite happen: she used so much of her electric storage in one moment that it caused an explosion. Its how she lost her leg and hand! Now, she practices mindfulness and manages her anxiety. She has healthy coping methods. She finds positive, low-powered uses for her powers. Because she never had an emotionally traumatizing event happen to her, she never developed the secondary sedative lime power.

Jodiah, while raised by Beloved, is biologically part of the Cristo line. Luxein, slightly older than Jodiah, has the SAME problem with showing off his face. Because of such, Luxe wears a helmet.
Ziolah, the youngest of the line, doesnt have that issue. Ziolah doesn't have the same emotional trauma that both men hold. On the flip side, though, Ziolah’s electrokinesis is a lot stronger! She’s the only Cristo thus far who has been able to truly harness that power, at the cost of a hand and leg.

Dia what kind of maintenance work are you most fond of? Taking things apart? Putting them back together? Cleaning them? Etc etc
Tumblr media
"None of the above. I enjoy figuring out how they work."
"Same concept I followed with medicine. if I figured out how a specific part works, then I can figure out how to repair it. A gunshot wound to the left shoulder can be fixed just like a jammed copier."
"I'm lucky, in a way, that my current commanding officer truly does not check the maintenance reports I file. I'm not even on the maintenance team. I just decided to take the printer apart and rebuild it. For like, the fuck of it."

In, and Out.
Google Docs Link
Luxein didn’t often scope out the locations before a hit. To be fair, he was working with Fate, an old buddy. Fate would be the getaway driver. And Luxe was the distraction. He already had everything he needed, his demo car parked in the fire lane with a forged handicap placard for ease. Normally, Luxein would sit there and wait. But, for some reason…today…He felt like going inside.
Maybe he just wanted a cup of water? Banks always had water around. Luxein tried to go in with his helmet on, but security wasn’t having any of it. Being an anon made it difficult to explain the consequences of taking off the helmet. Security was also a big bored purple so Luxe wasn’t playing with that nonsense. Instead, he slipped off the helmet. Rules stated he had to leave it on the security desk. He kept his head low so he could slip on a surgical mask and some sunglasses easy enough. The purple raised a brow but let him through without much other issue. Fucking idiot, all he wanted was some damn water.
The water fountain had just enough water for a single little paper cup full. Luxein looked up as he took a sip, pulling the mask down just enough. This simple action was adamantly against his own rules. He never looked at the targets. That formed attachments, and guilt, and then he wouldn’t be as good at his job.
See, Luxein was the distraction driver, because a robbery was about to take place as cover. In truth, there was a hit placed on one of the trolls here. He didn’t care who, he wasn’t going to get that much into detail. Luxein was just supposed to look suspicious, take the bag of money tossed into his car, and bolt while the murderers got away. Or kidnappers? He didn’t care. But because this was a hit…most trolls in this building were going to get shot. Or blown up, after the drivers were far enough. If Luxein troll-watched long enough he’d get attached. He never, ever, ever, broke his personal rules.
And yet…
There, in the line, was a familiar olive. She wore a warm sweater under olive green overalls. He’d recognize the sunshine she brought anywhere. The second he heard her laugh, he nearly choked on his water. Of course, that's why he came in. That’s why he looked up.
His fucking moirail was here.
A glance to the wall clock told him it was time to get in the car anyways. Panic started to bubble in his chest. He couldn’t leave her here- Messiahs he’d be the worst troll in the universe if he did that to her. Maybe she’d be okay but he didn’t want to risk it. Of course, he couldn’t raise too many red flags either! That’d blow the whole damn mission!
Luxe tossed the paper cup and pulled his mask back into place as he tried to slowly, calmly, make his way towards Luppii. She’d recognize him without his helmet, she was probably the only one who’d seen him without even a mask. Luxe took hold of her hand as he came up to her side. Luppii’s smile was bright as she turned and saw it was him. Hell, she even squeezed his hand.
“Lu!” She didn’t seem too puzzled about the surgical mask replacing his helmet, and frankly he was relieved.
“Hey, tiger!” He squeezed her hand back, “I didn’t think I’d beat ya here! I got the check cashed already.”
Confusion flashed over Luppii’s face, “Huh?”
“Yeah, I got it figured out! Fucker wrote the wrong last name, how dumb was that?” He faked a laugh, “But we gotta get goin’, Kam needs flour remember? I got it in my truck.”
Lup still seemed confused, searching his hidden eyes for answers.
“Lup, honey, we gotta go.” Luxein finally allowed the urgency of the situation to rise in his voice. He begged silently for her to listen.
“...Kam’s out of flour? Then what’re we waiting for? Let’s go!” Lup’s smile returned, and she flashed him a wink. It didn’t matter what she thought was going on, as long as she came with him. Relief washed over him like a wave.
“Can ya go grab my helmet from the counter?” Luxe nodded to encourage her, and she nodded in return. She charmed the security guard with a smile as they exited the building.
Once outside, Luxein grabbed his moirail’s hand and started pulling her along urgently. They made it halfway to the car before the security alarms started blaring inside. The olive glanced over her shoulder to see what the chaos was about, but didn’t fight against her moirail.
“Put the helmet on, Lup.” Luxe tried to keep calm while he ordered her to put on his helmet. She pulled her hand free, giggling as she slipped it over her head. Luxein opened the passenger door, urging her in and seated. He wasted no time getting in. The engine roared to life, louder now with the muffler sawed off. The radio was set up to play a song on repeat, just as planned. He revved the engine once, twice, three times. The signal that he was ready.
“Where’re we going??” Lup turned to him, voice muffled and ripe with giggles.
“Crazy and out for a beer, baby! All set?”
Lup nodded vigorously, checking to ensure she was buckled. The glass doors of the bank exploded open as gunfire tore through it. A masked troll ran up to their parked car and threw open the back seat. An overflowing backpack was tossed haphazardly inside. They flashed Luxein a thumbs up, but froze as they saw his face.
The stupid ichor in his veins made anyone who saw his face delve into a state of calm. Which was exactly what this idiot didn’t need. Luxein bared his fangs at the trolls, causing them to jump from their peaceful staring and slam the door shut with a start.
Luxein waited for the troll to bolt and scramble around the corner. The music was playing. He needed ten more seconds. He turned to look ahead of them, but kept his eyes on the mirror. Luppii tilted her head rather cartoonishly as she watched him. He knew the question that was forming in her head.
Just three more seconds.
The music reached the lowest point, building up slowly.
He looked in the mirror. Two more seconds. Nothing was happening.
He blinked slowly. Deep breath in. Luppii looked towards the mirror too, curious.
He gripped the steering wheel. As if on cue, the rest of the glass was shattered. They didn’t stick around long enough to see how many drones had spawned. Fuck no.
The engine’s roar echoed in the concrete prison that surrounded them. The sounds of sirens, drones wailing, and the engine growling like a pissed off lion were muffled by the way Lup squealed with laughter. She held on tight to the handle above her head as they flew through the streets. The helmet kept her safe from harm, not just from being rattled but from Luxein’s electrokinesis kicking in to get the car moving faster.
He knew she’d be fine. He was a good driver, the best damn driver in Alternia. And he’d be damned before he let another damn quadrant die because of his negligence.
