Max Thompson Jr - S/O That Has Anxiety

A/N: I’ve really been enjoying writing for the Hillbilly, and he may be one of my favorite characters to write for.  So I wanted to write something that involved him as well as something that I personally struggle with right now, which is anxiety.  Just remember that things get better :)  Reader is gender neutral, and I hope you enjoy!

!!TW!! THIS POST CONTAINS THEMES ABOUT ANXIETY AND ABUSE

- Max has no idea what to do when his S/O is experiencing the symptoms of an anxiety attack.  So when he sees his S/O have an anxiety attack for the first time he is in full on panic mode.  When the anxiety attack is over his S/O is probably going to have to give him some sort of explanation.

- He isn’t going to understand right away, but when he processes it more he realizes that he would have anxiety attacks a lot as a kid because of his abuse.  But now that Max knows what the expect during an anxiety attack, he can help out his S/O better.

- Max keeps a very close eye on his S/O so that he can notice when his S/O is getting close to having an anxiety attack. He requests that his S/O write down a list of symptoms and put them on the fridge so that it’s a bit easier to spot them.  He also needs for them to tell them what he should do when the anxiety attack hits.  Max is not entirely aware of certain things and so his S/O needs to be the one to tell him.

- When his S/O makes it clear what they need of him he is immediately on it.  He’ll probably be running all over the house in order to find things to help them calm down or make them feel comfortable.  If his S/O wants him to cuddle them because it will help them calm down, then he is all over it.  All Max wants is for them to feel safe.

- Max will protect them from EVERYTHING.  If his S/O’s anxiety comes from abuse like his, he will shield them from anything and everything that reminds them of that part of their life (or at least try to).  He will never push his S/O to talk about what happened to them, but his S/O may need to stop him when he goes to try and kill whoever harmed him.  At the end of the day, Max has the best intentions in mind, he just needs some guidance.
