Robin had taken an unplanned swim. The water had been ice cold. Cold enough to shock him for a second as he'd hit the water and that wasn't something that happened often. Thankfully it hadn't lasted long, but despite a warm shower and a clean dry outfit, Tim felt chilled to the bones.
Having curled up on the common room couch, knees pulled up to his chest and his arms wrapped around his legs, he felt the soft fabric of a blanket getting wrapped around him. "Thanks." Tim smiled at Bart, he might be an annoyance at times, but he was a good friend. A good person.
"I don't know why I'm still feeling cold. I don't have hypothermia. It's most likely just my imagination." Look at that, Robin, the Boy Wonder wasn't always facts and logic. Even he could imagine things.

❛ i told them i could fix it, but━ ❜ billy has to shrug, he gets it. there’s only so much weird you can handle in so long ; having a LITERAL ALIEN blast a hole into your wall, your son’s boyfriend’s mother murdered on your living-room carpet, and then having your son claim he can make everything better with magical, unexplained powers━━━ really counts as enough. he doesn’t blame his parents for wanting to have something normal to look forward to, some fancy tenement over in chelsea instead of his childhood house with a wall missing, and ghosts lingering around the entryway. he hasn’t had it in him to complain out loud about missing his bedroom at the top of the stairs.
he peels another poster from his wall, paper captain america proudly watching over his legacies while they do something not life threatening for a change, packing up the last odds and ends in boxes labelled ‘ fragile ’ and ‘ billy’s room ’. his parents had keenly told him about the walk-in wardrobe, the space. discreetly ignored bringing up how much easier it is to walk past the sofa there. billy wombles on his mattress, dropping the poster into one of the containers. ❛ i guess this is easier for them. ❜

Having to deal some penance, albeit it being well deserved, to some unfortunate soul, Kay was left with nothing but troublesome emotions. A drink sounded like the perfect way block out those feelings and thoughts. “Sure. Whatever you got that’s the strongest, I’ll take it.”

Tim sighed. It didn’t exactly demand any detective skills to figure out what Bart had in his mouth. Not when the empty plate stood there on the table. He shook his head a little. “You need to work on your impulse control.” Which was a bit funny since, well his name. Despite the emptied plate, Tim wasn’t actually angry. Bart was his friend and he knew he’d never do something out of spite. “Try to leave some for the rest of us next time.” Thankfully, Tim had stashed away half of the cookies due to situations like this.

This was the first time they had planned to go to the beach since her powers had surfaced. Everybody was so excited, everyone except Rogue. Looking at the plain bathing suit, she couldn’t help but feel repulsed by the sight. She shouldn’t have said yes to join them, knowing there was a possibility that she could hurt them. As hard as she tried, it would never work. She would never be normal. Rogue only took notice of Kitty’s presence when she heard her voice above the noise of her mind, spotting her being half-phased through the wall. ❛ Ah can’t wear this, ❜ she sighed, feeling that she needed something to cover herself with. Picking up the nearest shirt she could find, she pulled it over her head to shield her body. It was too dangerous, for all of them. They would regret bringing her along.
