“Smoker? What do you want to know about him for?” Oscar replied, his tone becoming slightly concerned as he stared straight at Emil’s face. Why would she ask him about Smoker? He hoped she didn’t have any more bright ideas about getting close to yet another marine, especially the likes of White Hunter. ”I advise that you don’t go anywhere near him at all, ever. Don’t get me wrong, he’s not a justice-obsessed psychopath like somebody up the chain of command but he does take his duty seriously and I can’t emphasize that point enough. Promise me you won’t ever seek him out or antagonize him for fun, Emil.” Oscar sighed, letting out the breath he didn’t even know he’d been holding. He didn’t think Emil would intentionally do something like going after Smoker but in the time they’d known one another, he’d learned there were few things she wouldn’t do when it came to chasing her own unique brand of entertainment. He paused momentarily, deciding that it might be better to explain his own thoughts on the man in greater detail should Emil get too curious for her own good if she ever crossed paths with Smoker some day.

"He looks like a hard-arse but from what I’ve heard from others who’ve worked with Smoker, he’s a lot nicer than he seems. He’ll beat in any pirate’s face while he’s on the clock and off it too, but he’ll do it fairly. He doesn’t like pulling dirty tricks and holds himself to high standards just as much as he’d hold anybody else. Very serious man but he cares about all of his men no matter what their rank is.” There. Hopefully that was enough information to satisfy her curiosity without making him seem too attractive a target. It wasn’t as though nobody had heard about the White Hunter; he was making leaps and bounds through ranks in recent years, especially since Sir Crocodile had been taken down in Alabasta thanks to his actions or at least a great part of them. He was a pretty decent guy in Oscar’s opinion, and exactly the kind of marine he’d love to be if only he wasn’t currently chatting to a pirate and worrying about her as though they were old friends. ”You wouldn’t like being near him anyway. He’s not called Smoker for nothing - he has at least two cigars in his mouth at any given time and a belt with many more. If you like the way I smell after just one cigarette then you’d just love him, Emil!”

Hinata. As everyone knows, Hinata is literal sunshine incarnate. This is the male form of Amaterasu brought to life. While this personality type is not normally my cup of tea, he normally doesn't feel overwhelming. I also have to include the fact he is incredibly beautiful. I'd be lying if I said there weren't times I didn't want to smack him upside the head... but, good luck finding someone I don't want to do that with.

Narumi. I don't know Narumi well. She is a beauty, and she seems to find me interesting, which gives her brownie points. I've yet to want to push her off a building, so that's something.

"Sonia is....complicated. Like I get her country for liking and being obsessed over something harmless but for them to laws that punish people for not liking chocolate or just the concept of hating it in Sonia's case of being in denial of differences is something I dislike about her. Although I'd admit she's doing her best to come around. Hell, she's even told be about her aversion to sour food and drinks, which I also can't imagine anyone disliking that but I get it. Not everyone is going to like the same thing. That's what makes us, us you know?".

Akira sighs, not really liking the next part either to come but he has to say it.

"I just wished she let me wallow in my misery sometimes. Her being too overly positive reminds me on how much I hate it. My mom Maya is the same way. I wished she show some despair once in a while. Not like she should change how she is but you know, it's okay to have your hair down once in awhile. Maybe if she trusted me more or just let her talk about things might help. Then again, I really don't think my actual talent in what I am in this school would go with that concept. Not everyone trusts a thief, especially an ultimate one".

GET TO KNOW THE MUN. respond to the prompts out of character !

what made you pick up the current muse(s) you have? oh, where do i even begin? well, i suppose i should start with how long sw has been in my life. ANH was the first movie my mother ever saw when she visited the USA; she saw it with my grandmother ( and subsequently developed a massive crush on harrison, so indiana jones became a huge part of my childhood too lol ). for this reason, my mother introduced my brother and I to sw when we were actual babies. then, when the prequels came out, it’s all me and my brother consumed. from the movies themselves to the original clone wars cartoon to the PS2 games to the novels/book series. we watched it on a tiny portable player for every trip, and every time my relatives needed us to go away to let the adults talk lol. it also helped our comprehension of english so much. i can’t recall a time in which sw hasn’t been present in my life! before i joined the tumblr swrpc, i kept to myself in the prequels community, wrote fanfic, and rped anakin on skype. he’s always been a character that hit a little too close to home in one too many ways. the main parallel i have with him (that doesn’t relate to his mental issues haha) is his love/devotion/attachment to his mother. it’s difficult for me to explain without getting into the aspects of my culture (孝順 / filial piety), but in short, i am cantonese; if my mother asked me for my thumb tomorrow, i would give her my arm today. anakin’s love for his mother, his determination to free her from slavery at an early age, was very touching. EPII has been memed to oblivion, yes, but the pain i feel when anakin doesn’t get to hear his mother tell him she loves him one last time before she dies, and knowing that it haunts him for the rest of his life (eu), makes me want to throw myself out a window lmao i have an extremely close relationship with my parents; this sort of pain is absolutely gutting for someone like me. anyway, when i joined the tumblr swrpc, writing han solo was never the plan. i originally wanted to write luke but ended up changing my mind at the last second. I’d written well over a dozen fics with han at that point, but was nowhere near confident, so i thought of it as more of an experiment. guess that doesn’t matter in the grand scheme of things, because if you really think about it, since the day i started writing him in fics, he hasn’t stopped butting into my brain. in fact, he’s been harassing me ever since—to the point that i even switched from writing luke to him… lol given my upbringing and my mother’s love for him, han has always been my childhood hero, as well as my brother’s. our dad was our han solo. the nostalgic and familial associations run so deep, it’s difficult to articulate. we share many traits, right down to his universally agreed-upon zodiac sign (sagittarius); i know han solo like the back of my hand—and it’s probably because i wanted to be just like him when i grew up.

is there anything you don’t like to write? character death. if i have to say another, it’s when people conflate harrison with the character he plays and then decides to address that in a thread. harrison was a ladies man back in the 80s, and that’s fine, but that doesn’t mean the same for han. i hate seeing the conflation between the two. not sure if this happens as often anymore, but there was a time when fics/threads/even han rpers would lean into it, by default, thus totally destroying his character in my eyes. i mean, write it as a storyline, that’s cool and fine, but infidelity has never been inherently part of his character. i will die on this fucking hill.

is there anything you really enjoy writing? most unpopular opinion ever: action sequences. critical situations, fast paced action, thriller scenes featuring immediate, life-threatening circumstances. i love writing that which exhibits a sense of urgency and tension, with sprinklings of emotional depth and contemplative introspective moments. scenes with internal conflict combined with aforementioned external events. even evading enemy forces, sustaining minor/major injuries, dressing wounds. dunno why those are always the most fun to me. aside from that? romance/romantic angst. i’ve had many writing partners over the years, and each one thought they could outdo me in writing romantic angst. sometimes, the psychosomatic pain of heartbreak isn’t far from feeling like you’ve lost a limb in battle.

how do you come up with headcanons? by being the most annoying, meticulous person ever. i’m extremely detail oriented; when i see incongruities in my own work, i perish. so, when i come up with headcanons, i have to consider all factors that may affect the outcome of whatever question i’ve posed in my mind and feel the need to justify my choices, for whatever reason, by tying it back to XYZ. my headcanons must align with my muse’s personality, their environment from childhood to adulthood, their current circumstances, and if it’s an AU, how it mirrors canon events. canon/eu is everything imo, because they are their own choices; it’s what shaped them into the character we know them as. ofc, this is my process and opinion, so make of that what you will.

do you write in silence or do you play music? no music, no tv. sometimes people talking is too much for me. i have adhd and my medication only helps so much. i will absolutely start writing down the conversation or lyrics playing in the background lol

do you plan your replies or wing them? plotting vs planning replies is different to me. plotting gives me a foundation, but it can’t be too confining. to plan a reply is to block out each moment. if you trap me, i will always deviate; so i wing everything, even when i have a foundation.

do you enjoy shipping? yes, absolutely! i’m not sure why people tend to assume otherwise, but i’m more open to it than people think. i’ve never cared about who you write, if they’re in the sw franchise, or even what era of sw etc etc never given a shit about what people think; if our muses click, they click. honestly, some of the best ships i’ve had with han, as in the most enjoyable and enlightening of his character, have been ‘crack ships’.

I meant to post something like this several months ago when I started this blog, but I had so much other stuff going on I forgot about this in my drafts, so I am posting it now. I know there will be people who disagree with me, and others who maybe think I am being ridiculous or whatever, but I don't care. This is my blog and I want to share this because it is meaningful to me, and maybe perhaps it will resonate with someone. This is a kind of "about me" but mostly a rambling mess.

Aldhelm means so much to me, more than any other character in any other show or movie I have watched. I have fallen super hard for this man; he has bewitched me body and soul, and just imbedded himself into the core of my being. He is my muse, and has profoundly permeated every creative aspect of myself, from creating this blog, screencaps/edits, gifs, memes, artwork, poetry (don't ask), and fanfics. No one else has managed to do that to me. This show in general, and him specifically, have led me deep into this fandom and made me do things that I have never done before.

My attraction to him goes far beyond just him being a pretty face; my feelings for him are complex and multi-faceted. Of course I think he is exceptionally handsome, and I find everything about him attractive. But I was attracted to his personality long before I was attracted to him physically. The two go hand in hand, and it takes more than just being a hot dude to hold my attention. This show is loaded to the brim with attractive people and yet he is the only one that has captivated me.

I love him for so many reasons. To me he is absolute perfection and I would not change a single thing about his character. He is introverted, quiet, soft-spoken, and dignified. He is highly intelligent, has a calm confident demeanor, and has a great fortitude for dealing with difficult situations. He is elegant and refined, despite sometimes coming off as awkward. I love his quick wit and dry sarcastic sense of humor. I melt whenever he rolls his eyes or sighs with exasperation. He is so pure and wholesome, and loves with his whole entire being. His selfless and unwavering devotion and loyalty to both Mercia and Aethelflaed are unmatched. He sets aside his own needs and desires to serve others, ultimately to his detriment. (He deserved better in so many ways) He has many personality traits that are normally only seen in women characters, while still being very much masculine, and I find that dichotomy incredibly appealing.

Additionally, something about him triggers my nurturing instinct; I want to hold him in my arms and cuddle him for all eternity. He is so unbelievably sweet and gentle, and the way he was so soft around Aethelflaed just melted my heart. In fact. he embodies my idea of a perfect romantic partner. He is so calm, patient, understanding, eager to help out, very devoted and loyal, cares more about his partner's happiness than his own. I feel as a boyfriend or husband he would be very attentive and in tune to his partner's needs. Never arguing, or trying to avoid it as much as possible. Never raising his voice. He would go out of his way to do nice things for them just to make them happy. Acts of service, gift giving, quality time, and humor are his love languages.

But more than that, I see in him a reflection of myself, that I have not seen in any other character or real-life person, ever.

His quiet, contemplative, introverted nature, and preference for solitude matches my own. Like me, he is the kind of person who dislikes bars, parties, or large gatherings of people, and prefers to keep to himself. He comes off as cold and calculating, but inside he is anything but. He is overwhelmed with emotion and allows himself to love wholly and intensely, despite not having his feelings reciprocated. Despite doing his best to hide his feelings, he actually wears his heart on his sleeve and allows others to use him just for the sake of feeling needed. He allows himself to cry, although he does so in private, not because he is ashamed, but because he wants to appear strong for others. He is the kind of person that hides the deeper parts of himself well from others, but I know that if you really got to bond with him, he would show you another side of himself, one that smiles freely and loves openly, laughs and jokes, and allows himself to be comfortable in the presence of others.

He appears to me to be demi/ace coded. I don't know if that was intentional or not, but seeing ace representation on the screen is incredibly rare and refreshing. Especially since his sexuality, or lack thereof, is never really brought up or ridiculed by the other characters (as ace-presenting people so often are in media). As someone who is demi/ace myself, I find his characterization in this way very comforting, especially since I have been ridiculed and downcast over my asexuality. I also find it delightful to see a male character who is not constantly talking about getting laid, making sex jokes, or aggressively pursuing or objectifying women. Much the opposite; he treats Aethelflaed with a level of respect and admiration that women are not often given by men. In fact he treats women in general with a lot of respect.

I feel his pain when he is ignored or his words are brushed off by others time and time again. As someone who has felt simultaneously invisible and freakishly "other" her whole life, I can identify with that strongly. I am always the one who others talk over or ignore in social settings. I have always felt like an outcast, even among my friends and peers. I never feel like I truly belong anywhere or with anyone, and have always felt like an outsider, just drifting along the perimeters of multiple social circles without ever fitting in. It is such a horrible feeling, and I empathize with him when I see him go through the exact same treatment.

I also feel his sense of uniqueness in that, like me, he is neither a leader nor a follower, but marches to the beat of his own drum. He had no desire to be Lord of Mercia even when it was offered to him (which I personally think was a mistake on his part). But I get it; I hate being in charge. I prefer to work behind the scenes and stay out of the spotlight myself. But while I am not a leader, neither am I a follower. I am always doing my own thing regardless of trendiness or popularity.

The biggest difference between him and I is that he is far more patient than I could ever be! He is much more level headed, whereas I tend to be more emotional and have a kind of firecracker reaction, especially when I am in an argument or when something upsets me. I think I would be a better person if I could learn to remain calm and collected during emotionally stressful times.

So, this is much more than me thinking the dude is super hot and wanting him to rail me until I need a wheelchair (I mean, that too, lol! I won't lie....). And it also goes so far beyond me just thinking he is a cool and interesting character (which he is no doubt). He has actually become a permanent part of me, one that will not be replaced by the next hot thing to cross my screen. Even if I run out of things to post here (which will happen at some point), he will still occupy my thoughts, and I will still be drawing him, and writing for his character for a very long time to come.

I admit that I don’t see the appeal of mains and affiliates. I can be picky with who I follow, regardless of whether you write an original character or a canon one, but if I’m mutuals with you, I want to write with you. I don’t want a list of people I’ve mentioned on my pinned to potentially deter people from interacting or feeling like their threads are only second best.

I don’t have a set of people whose interpretations are ‘canon’ to my blog. Any time I’ve mentioned a character, it’s a legally generic version of them. I’d much rather create a unique world than try to shoehorn every single person I’ve interacted with into one world, besides the awkwardness that would come with mentioning Person A in a thread with Person B, but B hates A.

Not only that, but I feel like there is too much drama to be found. I’ve seen people throw fits for being the last person to be mentioned, being mad that someone, god forbid, writes with a duplicate of their muse, etc. Even if I did, I typically don’t do mains or affiliates unless we’re like close friends, personally.

I don’t care if you want to make me your main or affiliate (although I think it defeats the purpose), but you’ll have to understand that I don’t do these, so please don’t get mad if you don’t get an @ in my pinned. Also I don’t think you should base your self-worth on whether or not someone’s @ you in a pinned but that’s just me.

Oscar’s face was usually relaxed, but his lips couldn’t help but tighten in dislike upon hearing that particular name. Trafalgar Law. His penchant for sadism and acts of cruelty were feared alike by marines and even other pirates, despite not racking up nearly as high a bounty as some of his equally notorious peers. "Fortunately I haven’t met Trafalgar Law as of yet, but everything I’ve heard about him so far hasn’t exactly endeared him to me. My opinion regarding his... character might be different if I knew him personally, but I believe any meeting between is isn’t likely to be friendly no matter what ‘side’ he’s supposed to be on.” His brow furrowed, expression changing from dislike to distaste. The Shichibukai - Seven Warlords of the Sea as Oscar had learned early on in his career was a system he’d never much liked the idea of, specific pirates allowed certain privileges and exemptions just because they were useful to the World Government. A pirate was a pirate as far as he was concerned, and few pirates had proven themselves more ruthless than the Surgeon of Death. Eustass Kid may have claimed the highest bounty out of the Worst Generation but it was Trafalgar Law who worried him most. Bloodlust and violence weren’t uncommon when it came to dealing with those wanted by the World Government - Oscar had dealt with many a crew who had performed their own atrocities, but it took a certain mentality to be so ruthlessly calculating and clinical. Stupid and violent was bad enough to deal with. Clever and vicious was much worse. And Trafalgar Law most definitely fit into the second group.

“I’ve never agreed with the World Government in allowing the Shichibukai to exist. Yes, pirates are people and like all individuals are different, but it doesn’t take a genius to figure out some are worse than others. I’ve read the records on what Trafalgar has done - mutilating a living score of marines on Sabaody Archipelago with his Devil Fruit, the Rocky Port incident, even stealing one hundred hearts from other pirates are simple drops in the sea compared to everything he’s done in the last couple of years, and that’s just what we know.” If Oscar hadn’t already been exposed to and became aware of the types of things horrible people could do from an early age, the kind of things he’d read about Trafalgar Law might have actually given him nightmares. Worse still, the World Government was prepared to freeze all charges against the madman so long as he worked with them as a Warlord. How could they? It boggled the mind and Oscar hated thinking about it, that somebody like that could walk around doing as they pleased when nothing short of a Vice Admiral should be chasing his heels at all times.

I don't need you to match my length but give me more than a sentence or two. Tell me what your muse is thinking, what they're feeling, what's happening around them. Give me something to work off of or it gets boring fast. Sorry.

🕷 || EXPERIENCE / HOW MANY YEARS?: I have been roleplaying on tumblr since 2009, I have been roleplaying in general since 2003-2004ish, started with my twin @defiedfate and just kinda ran from there.

🕷 || FLUFF, ANGST, OR SMUT?: I write a mix of all of them. My most popular/successful threads have always contained some balance between the three. And that's usually how it goes because all three are required to make a good story in my opinion.

🕷 || PLOTS OR MEMES?: While I don't mind either as they both can lead to great things, I tend to be faster when it comes to plotted things and that's mostly because I forget my inbox is there. I don't always have the spoons to do asks just because they are a lot of effort on my end to make up a story for both sides of the equation where as with replies I only have to worry about my own character.

🕷 || LONG OR SHORT REPLIES?: While I don't usually do especially short responses because I don't have icons (I have somewhere around 75 muses on this blog and don't have the patience to make icons for all of them), my responses can range anywhere from 2 to 10+ paragraphs depending on what I am feeling for the thread and how wordy I get.

🕷 || TIME TO WRITE?: I currently have nothing going on so I am pretty much here all day. This is actually set to change sometime in the next 2 weeks as I will be starting a new job but as I am expected to work mornings, I will have afternoons to play and will likely be doing some of my best work somewhere between post work clarity and collapsing into bed to sleep.

🕷 || ARE YOU LIKE YOUR MUSE(S)?: I like to think that everyone's muses have aspects of themselves in them, that's why they play them so well. The best muses are the ones that have a piece of the mun embedded in them. So I probably have something in common with all of my muses but as to what exactly those traits might be, your guess is as good as mine. Besides trauma...I got that in spades unfortunately...
