The next 4-star set has been announced and we’ve got more high school Matsus! This time they’re ready for swim class, simply called the Swimsuit (High School Student) set. 

They attack many enemies at once and have high HP and attack. They also power up the skills of other characters within the same set as well as characters from the original 3-star Swimsuit set.

This set will be available in the gacha on July 00!

As you can see above, Hesokuri Wars was going to add a set of the 18matsus in swimsuits, but for whatever reason, they ended up never seeing the light of day. A bit of an explanation on how these pics were uncovered:

Back then, the news bubble that popped up whenever a player launched the game was sourced from a webpage. Given that the staff would sometimes write the news in advance, they had a full section prepared announcing the release of this set, and so Mod Kara ripped the images from there and drafted this post in anticipation of its release. Needless to say, that never happened, but we couldn’t just post these, so these guys have been stuck in limbo for the past 4+ years. Buuut now that the game’s been shut down for over a year, it’s probably fine to release them, right?

Gotta wonder what happened that caused them to never be put into the game. Cheers to the set that never was!

I'm sure this has been talked about plenty but I'm still awestruck at how well Frieren handles Himmel and Frieren's relationship. I have never seen the 'character haunts the narrative' story beat done to such effectiveness.

Frieren's regret is that she didn't know Himmel before he was gone- but he exists in everything Frieren does without her fully realizing it. Frieren is a fundamentally different person and we *know* it is mostly thanks to Himmel's influence. The constant flashbacks, the way in which Frieren's logic and everyday routines have been altered by his memory. She collect spells because he and the others complimented the mundane, random spells she had found. The way that instead of her master, Himmel is the person who the monsters choose to immitate.

The flashbacks too, are so so potent in characterizing who Himmel was- not only in regards to Frieren, but in regards to Himmel as the hero. The person who lead his group to kill the demon king. The person who did everything in his power to help those around him. The person who was so clearly in love with Frieren but understood intimately that Frieren would not love him in the same regard and even worse, would be walking a very long and lonely path.

Hell, it's at the start of every chapter, in which time is only kept by the years before and after Himmel's death.

It all comes back to him, in the end

Official description of Sebastian from the Hogwarts Legacy Art Book

Sebastian Sallow is a charming and driven student with many secrets. Sebastian and his sister, Anne, were raised by their uncle, Solomon Sallow, a former Auror with the Ministry of Magic. However, before their fourth year at Hogwarts, Anne was cursed during a raid on their home in Feldcroft by the goblin Ranrok and his followers. As a result, she now suffers from a magical malady that leaves her in constant pain and unable to attend school. Sebastian has taken it upon himself to find a cure for his sister and has turned to the Dark Arts to find a solution. While his aims and goals often seem well-intended, he justifies acting questionably to achieve them and uses his sister's illness as an excuse to delve into Dark Magic. She rarely met up with friends (being too exhausted on her time off) and they eventually grew apart. To avoid talking further, Suzume changed topics, "Obaasan...I am interested in the bakery, please teach me your recipes!" She looked into her eyes, which were glistening with tears, "Ahh of course my dear! I will teach you everything in the book!"

I think the funniest Jason Todd and Tim Drake dynamic is when Tim idolizes Jason and Jason hates Tim on principle but AS SOON as they meet in person for the first time, Tim switches to thinking his former hero is just a cringefail loser while Jason switches to thinking this new kid is pretty neat and wants to team up with him.

Like, they have these ideas of who the other person is in their heads that don’t really match reality. And ACTUALLY meeting causes a complete reversal of their earlier dynamic. But also with Jason completely beating the shit out of Tim while Tim still acts like he’s better than him.

Hi, guys! Hope you've had a good, or at least somewhat decent, 2023. I can't believe it's been well over a year since Hesokuri Wars officially shut down. Time really flies, doesn't it?

Despite how long it's been, I've been feeling a little nostalgic for this franchise lately. As much as this blog ended up neglecting its duties during the year leading up to the game's shutdown, I kind of want to make up for that by helping with its preservation. Others have already committed to doing so, but I think it'll help a few people if there was a single post consolidating everyone's efforts, so here we go:

The Osomatsu-san AU Fandom Wiki has a page dedicated to listing the various Hesokuri Wars AUs, all of which have their own wiki pages with images

Tumblr user @/denkimystery has a pretty extensive catalog of information related to the Denki Mystery AU in Hesokuri Wars, including but not limited to a basic run-down of the characters, translations of the character descriptions / event stories / attraction buildings, and a timeline of the overarching story
