Here is my submission for the @fmasecretsanta2023 !!! @infestedguest I hope you like it! (Sorry it's late 😖)

Al took a deep breath and opened the door. He was still getting used to moving around on his own, but he was getting stronger every day. Besides, he thought, the occasion demanded he at least try to walk into town. It was the annual Sheep Festival, after all! He had thought of this day for years now, what the Sheep Festival would be like when he finally had his body back. He had a few hazy memories of the treats and attractions from his childhood, but it had been so long since he could actually feel or taste that the sensations were lost to time. It was finally time to actually feel a celebration, and he couldn’t be more excited!

The air was crisp with the last grasp of winter’s cold hand as he walked down the narrow path to the train station. He took his time, not wanting to over-exert himself, and noticed the small signs of spring cropping up along the countryside. Berry bushes bearing fruit, trees with small buds forming on their limbs, the sheep out to pasture a little less huddled than they had been lately. He paused there by the small herd of sheep, and held out his hand to them. A couple of the more curious sort trotted up to the fence and nuzzled his hand through the slats. He was amazed at the sensation, wondering at how soft their muzzles felt. And how ticklish he had become! He chuckled happily with the sheep before slowly moving on. The two he had pet followed for a short while, most likely hoping for a handout, but when they realized he carried no food they wandered back to the herd.

Al had felt that way plenty over the last few years, wandering this way or that to find a way to return to his body. He could still hardly believe Ed had given up alchemy altogether for him. He couldn’t fathom how he could ever repay his brother, but he knew he’d find a way someday. As Al’s thoughts turned inward, his outward perception suffered. So much so that he ran straight into what felt like a remarkably soft wall headfirst.

“Easy there, Alphonse Elric! It will be some time before you are strong enough to move this mountain!” the booming voice of Lieutenant Colonel Alex Louis Armstrong playfully admonished.

“Maj- er, Colonel!” Al quickly corrected, “What are you doing here? How have you been?”

“Why, I’m here for the Resembool Sheep Festival, of course! I was told of this quaint little soiree a while ago by your brother, and I promised that I’d come see it for myself one day. As for my well-being, you can see I’m as strong as ever!” Alex could not resist flexing a bit as he said this, leading Al to realize this was one of the few times he had seen Alex out of uniform, and in a Sheep themed sweater of all things!

“Well I’m glad to hear that, was the train ride long?” Al asked, laughing.

The Lieutenant Colonel’s response was cut short, however, by none other than Winry Rockbell.

“Al! Armstrong?” Winry seemed confused for a moment, but beckoned them both regardless. “Come on in, we’re just about to leave for the festival.”

In his musings, Al had in fact wandered all the way to Winry’s, and of course Alex had stopped here to say hello. Exchanging a look, they both made their way up the steps and into the Rockbell’s shop. The little house was decorated for the occasion, with small strings of sheep cut out from paper strung along the walls and twinkling lights hung around doorways. Winry told them both to sit and brought them steaming mugs of hot chocolate.

“So,” she asked, “I know why Al’s here, but what brings you all the way to Resembool, Colonel?”

“I am here to delight in the famed Sheep Festival!” Alex said with much enthusiasm, quickly burning his tongue on the hot beverage but remaining very stoic about it. Al and Winry chuckled at this, and the old friends caught up a while before Pinako emerged from the back room ready to depart.

After the obligatory pleasantries and explanations, the group made their way (slowly, for Al’s benefit) into town for the festival. And what a festival it was! One of the large pastures near the train station had been decorated wall-to-wall with strings of lights, sheep themed decorations, and market stalls. Vendors sold candies, trinkets, and delicacies from all over Amestris, and of course there were plenty of locals selling various delights from right here in Resembool.

The smells made Al’s eyes water with euphoria, as he was transported back to his childhood in the best way. He was here! He could finally smell, feel, taste his way through his hometown celebration. Soon after the group arrived, Edward found them and joined in the revelry. This was truly a day to remember.

As the night wore on, people began filtering out of the festival grounds. The last train out of Resembool would soon be leaving, and this usually marked the end of the occasion. Alphonse was exhausted, the most exhausted he’d been in a long time, but he was happy. Alex offered to carry him home on his back, and Al was simply too tired to refuse. They made their way slowly up the lane toward home, bidding Winry and Pinako farewell as they passed their house. After arriving home and getting Alex set up on the couch, Alphonse and Edward sat on the roof like they did when they were kids.

“Look at it, Al. It’s still here. No matter what’s happened to us, Resembool is the same as ever. Kind of insulting, isn’t it? How everyone can just… go on after all of that.” Ed mused, staring at the faint lights still twinkling in the distance.

“I don’t know, brother,” Al said, turning to look at him. “ I think this is exactly how it was supposed to be. I like that people can go on like nothing happened, it makes me feel like I have a chance to be normal too. And thanks to you,” he held his hand up before his face, examining the skin and bone he found there, “I can really be a part of it again.”

Al smiled that familiar smile that Ed had missed for years, and both brothers felt their hearts healing at long last.

Sielu is my highest priority/highest muse period, across any of my blogs. He's very special to me.

Knave and Fungo from Final Fantasy: Unlimited. They live on @restoringorder and are currently receiving the overhaul treatment.

Allister from Pokémon Shield, on @spectralalignment . He's the longest-held muse I have that has a blog, but I don't get to write him very often. He is ALSO receiving the overhaul treatment at the moment so that he can hopefully get some threads going for him.

I really can't wait to launch Aura's blog. Alas, gotta finish a few things first!

I am contemplating more Pokémon muses, like N Harmonia and possibly someone from Violet. I've not settled on it.

I almost want to write Clear from Final Fantasy: Unlimited, but I don't know if he'd take off or if anyone would like him. Also, I adore the way @musesofthesun writes him already. I dunno. I've gone back and forth on him for about a year now.

Part of me wants to do an askblog for Team Mustang from Fullmetal Alchemist, @sketchmog style. I love comedic relief, but I know I'd feel weird about posting unfinished pieces.

I have D&D characters I would love to bring here!

I miss my Soul Eater muses but I'm almost sure they would flop.

I would love to pick up Vivi from FFIX when I actually beat this nightmare of a game.

near death experience…

It was all meant to be a bit of fun. If she listened to her mama though she would not be working towards her dream of being one of the number one heroes. How she came to her powers was nothing all that thrilling like the legends you greek tragedies or ones adorn on comic pages. Her near death experience was a moment of stupidity really, she knew better not to go skating on frozen lakes. Even though she had done it a thousand times before! When the ice started to crack, she thought she would have enough time one more spin before taken to a frozen watery grave, as the shards of ice broke beneath her feet. She remembers the cold, her temperature dropping. Then seeing this mysterious blue light...it was strange. But sometime strange can be good, leading to the weird and wonderful world of her powers. Not giving up, with her body temperature dropping, as she looked up with the hint of light she saw, swimming up. She knew the struggle would come, slipping as she pulled herself up with ease. Yet that didn't happen, her hands touched the ice and instead of a slippery grasp, her hold was firm and tight like grasping tightly from the rope. It was strange and unusual little did she know...that was her first time using her powers.

Friction Manipulation: Allows Sabryna the ability to control and manipulate friction. With her power, she is able to alter the level of friction between objects and surfaces in a wide range of possibilities that alter some basic laws of physics. In order to activate the power, she must physically touch the surface she wishes to alter. She does not need to touch every individual surface, such as if she touched a wall, her alternation will apply to all walls in the area not just the single wall she has made contact with.

LEVEL ONE: BASIC FRICTION MANIPULATION

During this stage of her power development, she is only able to apply her power to small surface areas, as she progresses through her power leveling, the surface area will also increase. For now, she is only able to manipulate any surface that is the size of both her hands and feet. During this stage, she is only able to alter the friction of herself and surfaces, she is not yet able to affect other people’s own friction.

Friction Glide: allows to increase speed and movement by reducing the friction between her feet and the chosen surface. A way that she tends to travel in order to arrive at the scene swiftly and quickly. However, lacks very much control and coordination. Her speed and coordination will increase the better she gains her power. When Friction glide is activated, a soft glow will shine from behind the activated contacted surfaces.

Friction Reduction: this move allows the user to decrease the amount of friction between surfaces and objects resulting in smoother movement and reduced resistance. This allows Sabryna to make slippery surfaces, minimising the friction that hinders motion. When a surface is selected to be reduced it will glow a light shade of blue until engaged with another surface. This effect is only temporary and will fade in time.

Friction Increase: this allows her to increase the friction between objects or surfaces, providing a stronger grip or enhancing stability. She can create a rougher surface or increase the coefficient of friction, making it harder for objects to slide. When a surface is selected to be increased it will glow a dark shade of blue until engaged with another surface. This is only temporary and will fade in time.

Friction Awareness: gives her the ability to sense and perceive the level of friction in her environment, allowing her to make informed decision-making. She is able to detect the amount of friction present, her eyes glaze a soft tinted blue as she is scanning her surroundings looking at the gauge to if it is high or low and is able to adjust it accordingly through her touch. The range that she is able to detect will increase the stronger she gets with her power.

Looking at the levels of friction she has the capacity to control is playing around with Dry Friction, however, she is is experimenting around with fluid friction, skin friction, Lubricated fiction and Internal friction.

drawbacks / vulnerabilities…

Balance and Coordination Challenges: she is clumsy without her powers, when she is constantly altering the interactions between the body and environment she is disrupting her limited balance and coordination. She is always falling over, the more she uses her power the more likely she is to misstep and fall over due to her unbalanced center of gravity. For her, she is finding it far more difficult to ice skate, due to the the change of center of gravity.

Joint Stress: when constantly altering friction levels she is adding extra stress on her joints, especially when performing high-speed movement or sudden changes in direction. This can lead to joint pain, inflammation or even long-term joint damage if she does not look after herself properly.

Tendon and Ligament Strain: The sudden acceleration or deceleration caused by friction manipulation can put a strain on tendons and ligaments. This can result in sprains, strains, or even tears if the forces applied exceed the body's limits. Motion Sickness and fainting: the movement is not something that she is used to. When she overuses her control she tends to get spouts of motion sickness, that tend to make her vomit a sparkling array similar to how her powers seem to be active.

She auditioned, it was no easy fate but she will filled with determination. There was one hero who saved her, one who showed her kindness and a smile she will never forget. Something about that encounter always stuck with her. It was her drive, a motivation something that drove her more to pushing her dream into being a reality. She wants to be a part of the change of the world, do something that is greater than herself. Cerberus Corp is a place that can offer that...so she was going to do everything that she can. It might have taken a few tries but...there is something about her powers that has the potential to be more than just a simple slip and slide.

Amontons as in famous french scientist, inventor and physicist, Guillamue Amontons who pioneered the laws of friction! Please just tell Sabryna that you know before she gets out her powerpoint to start explaining it all to you.

003. EXTRA

⛸️ She is always utterly messy, it has just been the way that she always has been. Some people might even call her a hoarder but that is not the case, Sabryna just does not like being wasteful with her stuff. Her family grew up being pretty tight with money, so judge her if you want or don't.

⛸️Family situation, basically a tight knit small family with a little sister, a supportive mother and strained relationship with her father, who is a cop, he is someone who doesn't believe the world needs saving my fancy heroes in costumes that the law should stay in the hands of the law. Does not support his daughter at her, still communicate but they don't really talk about work otherwise a lot of arguments would occur.

⛸️Misses the closeness of her family. Like board game nights. As much as an introvert she can be at times, she loves the company of her friends...maybe her found family in New York.

⛸️Use to compete as a Figure Skater, helped her with her scholarship, she was a women in Stem and studied Engineering, something that her father encouraged her with since she was a little girl.

FMA Muses Wanted!

ELYSIUM is a small, closed Discord MFRP community with an emphasis on comunity worldbuilding and storytelling. Taking place on a recently discovered (and untamed) island getaway, your muse can stop by to experience a vacation from all things they might need to get away from! Summary:

There was a legend as old as the Avatar itself that the face you wore in this life reflected the face of the person you loved the most in your previous life. It was something Ta Min had heard in her youth, something like an old wives’ tale that brought upon notions of splendor and fate. When she was a little girl, she often wondered if her face was of someone she had cared for that deeply so long ago.

They didn’t eat steak on his last night on her boat. They ate pizza, simply because they already had all of the ingredients and it sounded good to him, and they sliced the tomatoes together, and Riza picked the first of the basil from the small herb garden she had started in the kitchen window, and Roy tossed flour in her hair as she rolled out the dough, and Roy ran as she swung the rolling pin at him, and he had never realized that cheese and tomato and crust could taste like everything he had ever worked for.

My #1 post of 2022

I always need more Iroh in my life, and @terra-arts just blew me away with this quiet moment between a grandfather and his granddaughter. Every part of this, from the warm colors to the soft lines, just radiates the love and peace that this family has finally found. It’s the breaking of cycles of violence and trauma for meeeee 😭
