what does "Wrath of Balthazar" entail exactly? love your art by the way!

so uhm I feel like it's a term that's been used elsewhere as well but I mostly yoinked it from destiny2 and its (queen's wrath) definition which is like "responsible for hunting down the queen's enemies and traitors", so where the herald's purpose is to draft more people into the forged and balthazar’s army as a whole, the wrath's purpose is to take out any that won't conform or actively work against his will

also, not necessarily tied to the title but, whereas the herald is the champion of the forged, the wrath (nikita) is the champion of the zaishen and likewise her role is to speak for balthazar and to lead his campaign on that front

och thank you 🧘 uhm... I suppose I haven't really talked about nikita and aki a whole lot, nikita being his younger sister

they were elonian nobles whose family was cut down by joko because they were sunspear sympathizers, nikita and aki managed to survive the attack thanks to the help of some guards though they were separated, supposedly for their own safety. aki ended up being raised in a farm in kourma while nikita was raised in a temple of balthazar, where she became a priestess for him

aki would at some point join the order of shadows where he'd quickly raise through the ranks and become a redeemer and during s4 would form a special task force in which they'd utilize the newly discovered skyscales

nikita for her part would've joined the zhaishen order where she met and became friends with zafirah. during the events of path of fire, she'd question balthazar's actions and even renounce him, but she still followed zafirah and even helped her carry out his will, however reluctant

aki and nikita reunited just before pof after years of being raised apart and though their familial bond held still, they didn't really see eye to eye, mostly due to the disdain of nikita towards the order of shadows and their cowardly conduct of keeping the status quo instead of helping people

uhm other lil tidbits, aki's skyscale is named abha, and nikita had a tigris griffon named na'ilah as well as a tiger named raafe. aki is a deadeye thief and nikita is a spellbreaker warrior

I kinda have. just some tidbits that are not fully fleshed out yet like

-in 1331AE (during s4) they find out their father and several of their relatives had actually survived the Mordant Crescent attack back in 1306AE and had been hiding out with the Sunspears, which then brought into question why their bodyguard decided to not only split them up but also not take them to a Sunspear hideout, instead putting them under the care of the Order of Shadows and the Church of Balthazar -Adeoye family members will typically have a small horizontal scar on their right cheek that helps them identify each other, something not so over that just anyone could know what it means but enough for those that are in the know to clue them in -would have the equivelant of a Moroccan heritage, like the Darija/ Moroccan Arabic dialect, ancestral home would follow the Moroccan architecture formulas with the tilework etc etc but I need to do more research on this 🤓

🖊 Nikita's actual first name is Akachi, meaning 'the hand of god', a name her family gave her when she was blessed by Balthazar - Nikita, meaning 'unconquored victor', is the nickname she received after her many victories in the tournaments of the Zaishen Order, where she is a fan favorite. That along with her many successful missions for the Church and the Order as well as felling many great beasts like hydras and giants, spread that nickname and is how most people refer to her now, something she doesn't mind really

🖊 Alexandrine speaks the so called Ephemeral Spirit Language, which was the common of her world. The fact that she's the lord of the Stonemist Castle in the Eternal Battlegrounds makes this tricky since most armies of other worlds that will come through and claim the Castle will more often than not speak what we know as common or any other language, which makes communication difficult. She could try to learn another language but then the fractal loop will hit and she'll forget it all again. There tends to be some Priory personnel or some scholar or other that's not affected by the loop around to study her and her squad-- I mean to decipher and translate at least. Either way certainly doesn't stop her from aggravating a certain Orrian shortie

🖊 Fang Jiahao, haven't mentioned him before, but he's a Jade Brotherhood Miner and a holosmith, he grew up in a village at the edge of Echovald Wilds, near the Jade Sea. He and his older sister got into hot water with some nobles in New Kaineng after they broke into their house and stole a bunch of things, including some ancestral sword. The Brotherhood offered them protection, in exchange for a fee, so his sister joined the Brotherhood to pay with her service instead. Years later she went missing, leading the Brotherhood to conscript him as well, but it works out because it gives him a chance to poke around and figure out what happened to his sister
