slight exposition teaser of the long beach part of the fix it fic... and that’s on making all three of them sleep on a ghost ship
“...It takes a slightly embarrassing amount of time to travel one-hundred miles. It becomes a rinse, cycle, repeat of Abby shutting down the engine when the boat kicks too hard; they end up floating precariously in varying directions for multiple nights and spending the following days overcorrecting themselves en route. Which eventually shows itself as Long Beach, an abrupt stop to restock on nearly everything. Fuel, most importantly, and it’s convenient they land themselves in an almost entirely boat-populated subsection of Terminal Island. Unfortunately for them, all the tanks have either dried up or been stolen, and they roam aimlessly around the shore until they stumble upon the largest ship Ellie’s ever seen in her life. It’s not entirely a yacht, and she’s pretty sure all three sets of their eyes bug out of their sockets as they drag their dogged-out bodies towards the rusted cruise.”
“The Queen Mary… turns out to be a historical landmark, known famously for being trademarked as one of the most popular paranormal destinations of the western U.S.A. Lev busies himself with the immediate scouring of the innermost section of the ship’s foyer, reading aloud all the informational placards lining the wall.”
“...And he wasn’t far off. The amount of stalkers crawling the various floors marks a record high in Ellie’s pure terror and amount-in-radius level. Even Abby seems to be panicking slightly as the sun drops lower in the sky; the lack of electricity provides them with indelible circumstances to be prowling around a potentially infested cruise ship, especially at night. But as the daylight drips off the hull, Ellie praises whatever above when after splitting up they manage to reform in the center deck, painfully relieved not to be wandering the Queen Mary out of the cover of the sun.”
