Someone You Can Trust
Fandom: Diary of a Future President
Ship: SIblings!Bobby x Elena
Word Count: 930
Request: anonymous- sibling chat with Bobby and Elena (for the fic ideas)
Synopsis:  Bobby's comfortable with himself, but at the moment, he only wants to tell people he knows he can trust. Who would've thought it would be his annoying little sister?
Doafp Taglist:  @vi-the-best-you-can @miracufan @magicmapleleaf @head-of-family-t @abg-blah @ashisstrongerthanfire @tsunicos @disknee-riprider @emo-girl10 @proudgarbage

Bobby has things figured out now. Well, as far as he knew. He was just going into high school, life is surely going to throw some curveballs at some point, but at this point, Bobby was content with himself and his identity. He was not lying to himself anymore, and he was not ashamed of who he was.
But even though that was true, it was still hard to tell his family.
He knows his mom is a great woman who wouldn’t think of him any differently, but even so, it was hard to tell her. And he knew Sam would be perfectly fine with it, but he would feel weird if he knew and his mom didn’t. And Elena…Elena was a mystery to Bobby.
He loved his sister, he did, but he was never too close to her. Especially after their dad died. Bobby always felt a little bad that he let them drift apart, but he never said anything. So because of that, he had no idea how his little sister would react. So he wasn’t going to let her know, at least not yet.
He saw Elena writing in a big notebook on the dining table that morning, along with that look on her face she got when she set her mind on something. He could only imagine what she was planning to do, but he could tell it was probably big, at least in Elena’s eyes.
“What are you writing?” Bobby asked as he got some cereal. Usually, he’d have a bigger breakfast, but his mom and Sam went away for a romantic weekend getaway. It was nice being in charge. Well, at least when Camila or Danielle didn’t come by to check on them.
“I’m writing a speech to present to the student council. If all goes well, I’ll be a shoo-in for a spot in the council next year.”  Excitement coated Elena’s voice as she continued to scribble words down.
Curiosity got the best of Bobby as he sat down across from his sister. “What’s the speech about?”
“I’m fighting to start a GSA club at school. I already have Ms. Gregory as a club sponsor, and I have the required number of signatures, but to solidify my success, I’m writing the best speech ever presented in the history of Orange Bay Middle School.”
“What does GSA stand for?”
“Gay-Straight Alliance.”
“Oh.” Bobby was caught off guard. While he was comfortable with himself now, he was scared people would find out before he was ready to tell them. So the slight mention of the word gay put him on edge. “Cool.”
Bobby sat there and ate his cereal quietly while Elena continued writing.
Elena, noting Bobby’s unusual silence, looked up from the notebook in front of her to see her brother with light pink on his face.
“Bobby? Are you okay? Are you sick?” Her eyes widened and she was about to stand up from her seat. “Do you need me to call mom?!”
“What? No! I just…” Bobby tried coming up with an explanation of his awkwardness. “I think the club is a good idea.”
Elena calmed down and relaxed in her seat again. “Really? I do too. We need a place for people to feel accepted, no matter what they like or who they identify as.”
Bobby nodded, relieved Elena didn’t further question his oddness. Elena continued talking about the new club.
“I’m honestly surprised a GSA hasn’t been formed until now. There is plenty of gay youth and allies at Orange Bay Middle. I’m just glad I can start helping further progress and inclusivity.”
Bobby nodded again, eyes staring off into the now-empty bowl in front of him, taking in his sister’s words. The fact his sister was so accepting wasn’t much of a surprise, but the fact that she was so adamant about being inclusive and not shutting people out, just because they’re different, helped reassure his thoughts about her views.
“Elena?”
Elena looked up at her older brother. “Yeah?”
Bobby heard that if you don’t know when to say something, do it when the moment feels right. And say it to someone you can trust. And his little sister’s words helped him decide who that person was.
“Can I tell you something? It’s not that big of a deal, I just wanted you to know.”
Elena closed her notebook and gave Bobby her undivided attention. Bobby looked into her eyes and knew he was ready to let somebody know his truth. He rubbed his hands nervously on his shorts under the table, subtly trying to make his hands less clammy.
“I’m kind of…gay.”
Elena’s eyes widened just a fraction, and her mouth made a small “O” shape. But she quickly overcame the shock.
“Oh…okay. How long have you known?”
Bobby thought back. “About, like, five months? I’m not sure, exactly.”
Elena nodded, fiddling with her fingers on the table.
“Who else knows?”
“Just you. But I have a feeling Camila knows, but she hasn’t said anything.”
Elena nodded to herself but didn’t say anything else. For a split second, Bobby thought the silence was a bad sign and that he shouldn’t have said anything. But then Elena walked over to his seat and wrapped her arms around his neck, sitting across his lap.
Bobby tensed at the sudden contact but quickly relaxed as he felt his sister smile in his shoulder.
“Thanks for telling me, Bobby.”
Bobby smiled to himself as he hugged his sister back.
He should’ve known his sister was someone he could trust.

hsfjdlshfks actually that's a really good freaking question!! And no, I've genuinely never thought about it! The idea that it was the porno rag is truly hilarious though XD who knows, I've heard that playboy has historically had some really actually good articles in it lmao.
I'm not planning on reviewing that chapter today to get ideas so instead I'll throw it to the audience.
What made the friendly Saiki timeline real?

Haha no worries! It's downplayed a lot in the series because it's supposed to be a comedy, but when you start looking more closely at the stuff Kuniharu does, it paints a picture of a terrible father and a bad husband too.
It's been a topic on the blog several times, so I'm sure people can chime in with more evidence, but here's what's off the top of my head...
Raised Kusuke. Nuff said tbh lol.
Kuniharu calls Kusuo a monster multiple times and is almost certainly the reason why Kusuke and Kusuo himself believe that Kusuo is an inhuman freak. This attitude is certainly not coming from Kurumi, and nobody else knew about Kusuo's power. From the beginning of the series, Kusuo genuinely believes he's unable to connect with other human beings, and it's mostly because of this attitude inherited from his father.
Kuniharu is never seen attempting to prevent Kusuke from constantly picking fights with his brother, and only attempting to discipline Kusuo for behavior that Kuniharu considers disrespectful to him. This is mostly a fact by omission, but we do see him belittling Kusuke when the kid obviously already has an inferiority problem.
Kuniharu is one of the worst performers at his job and the first to be let go in the case of a crisis. When he loses his job, he's unable to find any others because his only real skill is shoe-licking. This was a parody chapter though so questionably canon. He's always running late for his job though and we see him trying to make a manga artist rip off Naruto, so honestly it makes sense that he's that bad at his job. The only time he's shown as slightly competent at his job was during a parody chapter too hsfjdlshfks.
However what's definitely canon is that he either doesn't make much money or mis-spends most of it. In an area where Nendo's mom, a single woman, and Satou's family, the exact average family, can afford to live, Kuniharu had to take out an 80 year mortgage to pay for a similarly sized home. For context, most mortgages are for 30 years, 15 if you git gud. Btw, the house was literally a gift from Kusuke, Kuniharu insisted on paying out of manly pride or something. Sir, Kusuke is a freaking billionaire and this is like the only single no-strings-attached genuinely kind thing he's ever done hsfjdlshfks
Completely irresponsible with money: has a huge Valentine's day budget for his wife's gift ($3,000 iirc?) and then spends it all at the bar paying for his coworkers' drinks (the same guys who abuse him at his job and think he's garbage). He also spends huge amounts of money on his model figure collection, and has a whole room of gym equipment he never uses. As a result, Kusuo has a very small allowance and for some reason, his one favorite food (coffee jelly) is not included in the grocery list. Even though Kusuo canonically gets insane rock bottom prices for literally everything that gets bought in the household. How do you fuck up so badly financially that you can't buy your clinically depressed son the one (inexpensive!) thing that brings him joy??
By the way, Kuniharu started dating Kurumi when he was a college student and she was in high school. Kusuke was born like a year after they met, so you can do the math about how little time he spent before knocking her up 😬 They basically had a shotgun wedding. No wonder Kurumi's dad is NOT a fan of Kuniharu...
Literally one of the first chapters is Kuniharu and Kurumi domestic violence but make it funny. They're throwing furniture, Kuniharu is breaking the windows, Kurumi is yeeting her husband, and all this shit is over a single coffee jelly, which again, should be a normal part of the groceries for their household. They constantly bring their son into this drama too, which I'm sure is fantastic for his mental and emotional development btw.
There's a manga exclusive chapter that's a parody, so questionably canon, but in it Kuniharu physically attacks Kusuo multiple times over differences in opinion.
However, it IS canon that Kuniharu takes any opportunity to try to physically harm Kusuo. Ex. Hitting him in the massage episode and trying to step on him when he turns tiny.
Canon tries to redeem him a bit by showing moments where Kusuo is a baby and Kuniharu is trying really hard to make him smile because he wants his baby boy to be happy. Unfortunately that just makes it seem like he tried to be a good father for a bit when Kusuo was a baby, and then as soon as Kusuo's powers developed enough to make him miserable (the time when he needs the MOST familial support!), Kuniharu just gives up, and starts using Kusuo as his personal genie in a bottle. While also trying to fix his own fragile ego by attempting to establish dominance over his son. ????? Get therapy bro.
Canon also shows that Kuniharu's love points for Kusuo are the same as for his wife, however, not even Kuniharu believes that, as he tries to run away to evade it hsfjdlshfks. And even if he does love his son that much, he certainly doesn't show it in any meaningful way, because his literal MIND-READING SON doesn't know that. There are plenty of parents who truly love their kids and still abuse them like hell because they think that's the right thing to do (see Kaido's mom being overly strict because she wants to see him succeed in life), so the love points don't mean much imo.
Kuniharu does dole out a couple of pieces of wisdom (at Kusuo's wrong date birthday party and in the volcano arc) but that really doesn't make up for anything and even his wife thinks he's childish so... 🇫
Kuniharu is definitely funny as a character, and like I said, most of this requires digging into canon a little more, but once you start looking, it becomes clear that Kuniharu is just not a good person, father, or husband.
Like, I totally get that having a genius and a god as your kids would not be easy for any parent, but Kuniharu really doesn't try to make life better for either of his sons, preferring to get into petty squabbles with his wife and play video games/build models the rest of the time. I'm not saying dads can't have hobbies, but the only times we see him spending time with Kusuo is usually when he's begging for a favor, and he also clearly does zero housework whatsoever, so...
Anyways, I think Kurumi deserves a better husband and Kusuo deserves a better parent (or at least a break from being used as a magical favor vending machine lol) so I often joke on here that Kurumi should get a divorce and run polls about who she should marry instead and such!
Hope this helps! 👍🏾 Thanks for the question!

Great question, @ihavenoidea427!
I've considered this myself for the same reason, but ultimately decided that he probably doesn't have ADHD. I'm no psychologist, but based on what I understand, Akechi seems to show way more autistic traits.
It's hard to say since there's a pretty big overlap between ADHD and autism, and he's extremely autistic-coded, butttt I feel like the fact that he was able to stand motionless for 8 hours waiting for Saiki to exit his house kinda rules out ADHD lol.
Sure, hyperfocus exists but that's for when you're doing something enriching, and I'm pretty sure time blindness wouldn't account for that either. I guess he could theoretically be day-dreaming or something (more inattentive type), but he sure doesn't seem like he's easily distracted or has trouble focusing in general. 🤔
So yeah, I think he's just autistic in canon but I could be wrong tbh!

I don't think it's a dumb question at all! Realistically, why would you feel grateful that someone slightly helped in cleaning up the mess THEY made, right?
I think the context you might be missing are 2 things:
Toritsuka was a cog in Kusuke's plan, yes, but ultimately Kusuke was going to enact this ultimate revenge one way or another. Toritsuka just happened to be a convenient and entertaining tool that cropped up. Otherwise Kusuke could've used Saiki's other friends that he already knows about (Nendo and Kaido) or even family as bait. So even if Toritsuka had refused joining in on Kusuke's plot, it ultimately would not have mattered. But also Toritsuka is really truly very stupid, can you blame him too much for getting fooled by a super genius?
Toritsuka is the first and only person who has ever stood up to Kusuke to protect Kusuo. As far as we see, Kurumi and Kuniharu just let them battle it out, and no one outside the family would've known about the tension between them. And yet Toritsuka, Toritsuka whose jealously got him in this mess in the first place, Toritsuka risks his own life fearlessly in an attempt to help Kusuo. Considering that Kusuo is always jumping through hoops to help everyone around him and yet no one ever thinks to help him, or even wonder if he could need or want any help, this is a big fucking deal!!
So yeah, those are the two key elements for me that Iead to Saiki being grateful to Toritsuka despite the betrayal lol. Hopefully that makes it more understandable for you, and thanks for the ask!

Actually there are quite a few beach episodes so not a whole lot of speculation needed on my part.
Kaido drowns in 2 inches of water, which is hilarious.
Nendo is a beast at swimming bless
Kuboyasu and Hairo are good swimmers
Saiki seems to prefer just walking into the sea
We didn't see Teruhashi swimming iirc but she's good at everything including sports so she's definitely a good swimmer.
I don't think Chiyo swam either but I bet she can swim okay. It's just not her thing, she's not athletic.
Mera can definitely swim, she's an all-terrain hunter
Saiko can definitely swim, he has to show off all his fancy pools and hot tubs and private islands etc
No Aiura beach episode (though she's sporting the teeniest bikini in the mobile game... Girl...) but I can definitely see her being a competent swimmer. She's pretty strong and definitely has a strong core too from all the yoga.
Akechi is not athletic at all but I think he's an ok swimmer. I think he'd have fun snorkeling and diving, activities where you go slow to look. He's never going to be a fast swimmer and if he HAS to go fast, he's not going to make it very far. He's just a little guy!
Hii can swim, which is good, because I'm sure she's gotten knocked into every single body of water in the tri-state area.

9) worst part of canon
The incest...
10) worst part of fanon
Uhh... hmmm I don't think I know of any unified fanon. There are themes that pop up often (Kuriko as a separate character, real Dark Reunion, etc) but they're more like common AUs than fanon. 🤔 Then again whenever I see bad takes I just go "lalala I do not see it" so perhaps I've just been missing it hsfjdlshfks
Thanks for the asks anon! <3

🤔 Well Saiki's powers manifested literally in the womb and it's heavily implied that Toritsuka's been seeing ghosts from at least a very young age, so probably Aiura's powers kicked in early too.
The first thing must definitely have been her aura vision. It's automatic and she doesn't need to put in any special effort to use this power, just like Saiki's telepathy.
I feel like her future-seeing came in more slowly, and she would just randomly have hunches that turned out to be correct. Maybe like in middle school she'd figured out the random ritual trick.
Since she got run over not that long ago (lol 💜) and that's when she discovered the karma balancing issue, she probably didn't learn her perfect fortune-telling until fairly recently.
I like to think that her group of girlfriends messing around with "witchy" stuff to be edgy teens is what made her discover the usefulness of crystal balls for focusing her powers, and she quickly became more advanced as they encouraged her and experimented together!
Hopefully the death marks didn't kick in too early though... 😬 Let's say middle school-ish at earliest. 🤞🏾
Thanks for the ask, @hillbilly---man! 💜💜💜

[Context]
Ok @fluffydice, sorry for the lateness on this one but as anyone following this blog for over 5 minutes probably knows, I think Aiura x Saiki x Akechi makes so much sense and it is insanely compelling to me. I've posted so much fanfic about it already and that's only like 20% of the Thoughts™ I've had about them tbh.
But when you're doing an analysis of a triad, you have to breakdown 3 different ships and also how they would work simultaneously, so I needed time to write it all up. Buckle in!
Let's talk about Saiki x Aiura first since they had the most screen time together and they're the most "canon". I was genuinely shocked to see how rare this pairing is in fandom when they're literally canonically soulmates and also actually prove it on their every interaction.
Tumblr media
From their very first meeting, Aiura and Saiki work together flawlessly to save Yumehara's life many times in a row + the life of the truck driver. Aiura then figures out how to hang out with Saiki without having to deal with his tsundere rejection, which he can leave at any time (unlike with Teruhashi) because she knows about his powers and won't stir up trouble if he leaves. Saiki keeps allowing her to schedule 1:1 dates and is basically like "don't bother asking me, you know I'll go" about the dessert buffet date lol.
Even when they disagree and neither of them will back down, they still work wonderfully together and they both end up learning and growing from it. Saiki trusts Aiura to help him, and Aiura always agrees to help him just because she cares. That's HUGE considering how hard it is for Saiki to ask for literally anything!!
Aiura also respects Saiki's boundaries more than anyone else imo. She only joins him when he's out in public, she tries her usual heavy-handed flirting at first but quickly adjusts when she realizes he's not into it, she puts her clothes back on immediately after realizing that she misunderstood the situation, she starts asking him out instead of just joining him, she asks for a kiss and respects his "no", and she hugs him anyways because they both really need it after the stress of the day.
And Saiki responds to that, opening up more with Aiura than he has with anyone else in way less time. Aiura had under 2 years with Saiki while Saiki's core friend group had like 6 years, and yeah, she benefited some from his character growth over the past 4 years. But still, the way he banters with her shows how comfortable he is– he's more open with her than with anybody else, and not just with his annoyance like he is with Toritsuka lmao.
Also, come ON, there's just no one more deserving of an epic husband/wife local god with transformation powers than Aiura. She works so hard with her powers to help everyone and convinces Saiki to help others more and she helps him get the best outcomes for everyone. Let her get her hands on her soulmate who can make her bi dreams come true, who can give her third eye a break from constantly seeing auras and death marks, who can grow big fluffy wings to hug her with, etc etc etc!!!!! LET HER HAVE SOME FUN FFS!!
There's wayyyy more people forcing Aiura into the platonic bucket with Saiki than I've seen with Teruhashi (even though Aiura has way better chemistry with Saiki), which forces me to wonder whether it's because Aiura is more overtly sexual and "lowbrow" than Teruhashi, showing more cleavage, getting bad grades, putting stickers on her face because they're cute, showing pride in her sexual escapades. None of those make her a bad person, but a lot of people seem to think it does.
Some people more reasonably point out that if Saiki is very asexual and Aiura has a high libido then that could cause trouble for them. Well, first of all, while Saiki is pretty much obviously somewhere in the asexual and aromantic spectrum, his belief that boyfriend is the next level after best friend shows that demiromantic / demisexual is a strong possibility for him. And honestly I'd argue that whatever he has going on with Satou is at least partially sexual, though I'm not going to get into that in this already long-ass post lol.
But basically, I think there's a lot of room for a demiromantic and graysexual interpretation of Saiki and considering that Aiura has apparently stopped going out with other men for at least 2 years with no ill effects that we can see, it's quite possible that they'll be very compatible in bed after all. And if not, that's where consensual non-monogamy comes in lol. But genuinely I think that the fact that they're soulmates means that there probably aren't any major incompatibilities between them, otherwise the term would be meaningless.
So yeah, makes sense and really compelling because there's so much room for stories on how they actually got together, how they work together as their powers continue growing, and what their future looks like!
OKAY, now it's time for the Saikechi essay lol.
Tumblr media
Actually, I don't think Saikechi needs a ton of justification, because it's kinda standard extrovert x introvert childhood friends to lovers lol. Saikechi only isn't more popular because Akechi appears for like 5 whole minutes in the undubbed second season of the anime and he was annoying for 90% of that time hsfjdlshfks rip.
But yeah, Akechi and Saiki are quite perfect together, as shown by the horse gambling episode. Akechi can see right through Saiki's tsundere facade and Akechi is extremely open about his wants and needs, which is important since Saiki can't properly understand his thoughts most of the time and is very bad at figuring that stuff out even with telepathy.
They're both some flavor of ace. Akechi offu's at Teruhashi and comments that she's the most beautiful women he's ever seen, but does not express wanting to date her, which is big ace vibes, plus he's one of the few characters that doesn't have anything to say about Aiura's boobs lol (even Teruhashi can't shut up about them). They're also similar flavors of highly intelligent + neurodivergent. Consider Akechi's analysis skills vs Saiki's ability to come up with dozens, if not hundreds of plans in extremely short notice.
Akechi is also great at making accommodations for Saiki's powers, even without knowing about all of them, and coming up with activities they can do together that will be equally fun and challenging for both of them! And I still love that it was Akechi showing Saiki what a fun low-stakes game can be like that basically repaired Kusuo's relationship with his brother (see: manga, as this was cut from the anime 😩).
It's a very nice and straightforward ship that still leaves a lot of room for fun stories. I've been dying to write a Saikechi frogboil (plotted but needs writing) just because Akechi would be so perfect at it and he would be very likely to approach Saiki that way to get around all the tsundere bullshit lol.
OKAY, now for the third leg of the triangle lol, Aiura and Akechi!!
Tumblr media
(couldn't find an anime gif of this moment which is SO SAD)
Let's be real, Akechi and Aiura only share 5 moments on screen: the intro with all the chibis, when Aiura checks out his aura, when Aiura & Toritsuka kidnap him, the competition to find Saiki's hanky, and Akechi pestering Aiura about dress code violations in the every-character-appears episode. And 3 of those scenes are from the same chapter lmao.
Tumblr media
Actually I think this ⬆️ scene is kinda cute because Akechi's teasing Aiura lol, I think he's being friendly in his little freak way <3
HOWEVER, if shipping was only about what we saw on screen, then it would be way more boring. So let's think about it!
Aiura and Akechi actually share a lot of similarities: they're both extroverts, they're both incomprehensible, they are both almost immune to lies, they have both have a drive to help other people including strangers, and they're both seeking someone who will love and understand them as they are.
They would just make a really great fit! Akechi could help with Aiura's fortune-telling by prompting better questions for her to ask, and Aiura might actually make Akechi's mystery-solving TOO easy, so she probably holds back on that one lol. Akechi would throw himself wholeheartedly into working against a death mark on a stranger.
They're so fun to think about too because neither of them is embarrassed easily at all and they're both completely in touch with their own feelings so they are going to be SO lovey-dovey, no matter how cringe it seems on the outside lmao.
Akechi seems like he'd love doing traditional courtship if given half the chance, and Aiura seems like she's mostly had one-night-stand kind of situations until now, so what a perfect opportunity to indulge! What a change for Aiura to date someone who respects her and isn't just after her body! What a change for Akechi to date someone who actually wants to hear what he has to say and isn't put off by his frankness around taboo topics!
They'd pick up phrases from each other and develop so many ridiculous in-jokes that become their own sort of language, which makes them both even more incomprehensible.
We do also run into the allosexual x asexual problem here but Akechi is so unbothered by bodily functions and so quick to find compromises and enrichment that I genuinely think he'd kind of turn that into a game lmao.
And I think Akechi would be down to start a family and give his kid(s) the kind of loving home he never really got to enjoy with his parents' ongoing domestic turmoil. And their kid(s) would be sooooooooo incomprehensible, bless. 🙏🏾 Raised by 1.5 psychic parents and sprinkling both terminally online lingo and academia-level terminology into their speech from day 1. Imagine...
So Aikechi definitely gets the A+ on making sense and being compelling here!
Which FINALLY brings us back around to the main question... Does Aiura x Saiki x Akechi make sense, and is it compelling?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Well, obviously I think so, since I've posted so much about it lol.
I think the main question for the viability of this ship is whether Saiki would be comfortable with polyamory, since Aiura and Akechi are unconcerned enough with social norms that they'd probably have no problem with it.
After some time getting used to the thought that he will never have the veneer of normal he's always wanted to project and that the pleasures of living authentically far outweigh the pains of being different, I think Saiki would actually love having his best friends as lovers and not having to choose only one person.
After all, most of his struggle is about lack of connection and his alienation from humanity. Well, here are Akechi and Aiura, who respectively mirror his lonely childhood and growing up with uncontrollable powers. They're both clever enough to see through his tsundere bullshit, they're both happy and able to help him with his powers & duties to save others, and they will both stand up to him if he's wrong or letting something slide to avoid conflict.
They're both perfect for him! And Akechi and Aiura would be much happier sharing him than trying to make him choose between them since they also get along so well. And let's be real, Saiki definitely deserves to be loved by the two people who know him the best. 💜
There's also a lot of story potential for how this ends up happening. In Extra Love Stories of Psychics, Saikechi and Saiura are basically happening in parallel and the Aikechi will close in the loop in a few chapters. But in Didn't see this one coming, I wanted to focus on Aikechi, so they get together and are basically ready for Saiki to finish his character growth and join whenever lmao.
You could also have them as like a hero team of lovers if you want more action-y plots, though tbh it's really hard to come up with situations they wouldn't immediately solve lol rip.
Another nice thing about Aiura, Akechi and Saiki being together is that Aiura and Akechi get a chance to help each other overcome some of Saiki's limitations, and the stuff they can't work around, Akechi and Aiura can do together.
An easy example is hand-holding. Changing Saiki's gloves to another texture is all well and good but sometimes you want to touch skin to skin, and it's much more overwhelming than calming for Saiki to do that. Akechi and Aiura can hold each other's hands without gloves though, and while it's not the same as holding Saiki's, it helps a lot to fulfill that desire.
Also, it's almost impossible for Aiura to surprise Saiki because he can read her thoughts, but while Akechi can probably figure out that she's planning something in general, she would have a much easier time surprising him. And similarly, since Saiki can't properly read Akechi's mind and doesn't have too much emotional intelligence, Akechi has to openly communicate his needs with Saiki all the time, which isn't a problem for him. But it's really nice when Aiura can tell from his aura or from her own emotional intelligence what Akechi wants/needs without having to explain himself. And even if Saiki can literally hear Aiura's thoughts, Akechi is still better at responding to her feelings because he's not tsundere and he actually understands feelings and what to do about them.
Additionally, Aiura has said she wants to be a mother, and while Saiki's affection for kids indicates to me that he wouldn't mind having kids, I think that he would be VERY opposed to passing on his genes due to how much trouble his powers have caused him. And Aiura's genes also are probably loaded with psychic powers! But if Akechi is there, then he can knock up Aiura no problem since he doesn't seem to have any psychic powers, and then the three of them can have their own family <3 Plus all the shenanigans that comes with having 2.5 psychics (and maybe more!) under one roof!

In conclusion, they're perfect, your honor!!
Also I probably should've been writing more fic of them instead of writing this novel XD XD
Thanks for the ask!!

@makototeruhashihater That's a good question! I don't think there are really any answers in canon.
Toritsuka says that killing the human doesn't affect the guardian spirit, but he's also trying to convince Saiki to not kill him at the time.
There are a lot of open questions about ghosts in general, like what's the criteria for making ghosts, and what's the criteria for making guardian spirits?
It seems that most guardian spirits are elderly folk, so you'd maybe think they're people who passed of old age, but we also see a relatively young athlete, a youngish detective, a dog, etc. But we never see a child guardian spirit, so maybe age does have something to do with it.
Normal ghosts seem to come in all ages, and we know they can pass on under certain circumstances like the piano ghost girl. So if guardian spirits are a subclass of ghost, then it would make sense if they could move on under certain conditions too, and the death of their charge makes sense as a condition.
This is one of those things where you can basically pick and choose whatever makes for an interesting story for you.
But a fun theory I just came up with is that maybe guardian spirits can only move on if their charge dies of old age. If they fuck up and their human is killed or falls to their death or gets run over, they have to do the whole gig again.
And that could be a good reason why Hii's guardian spirit is so depressed and alcoholic, because he's kept fucking up and getting his charges killed and has just given up on ever moving on. Though you could just as easily say that killing the person lets the guardian spirit move on and Hii's guardian wanted to finally leave this wretched earth.
🫵🏾 You decide! 🫵🏾

[Context] <- still open for these!
2. Favorite canon thing about this character?
I love that she is so comfortable and competent with her powers, especially considering that she's stronger than Saiki in some ways. She's still a cheerful optimist despite literally seeing death marks, she keeps trying to help other people with her powers, and she's committed to being herself no matter what! She's the perfect foil to Saiki and she's also kind of a role model showing that it IS possible to make peace with ESP. I love that she pushes Saiki to be better and doesn't give in on her principles even though he's her soulmate and essentially a god. And I love that she's so friendly and warm, immediately becoming friends with Yumehara and jumping to Kumi's defense <3333
6. What's something you have in common with this character?
We're both terminally online hsfjdlshfks
7. What's something the fandom does when it comes to this character that you like?
Love it when people draw her in fun+ funky new fashion fits!! It's what she deserves <3
21. If you're a fic writer and have written for this character, what's your favorite thing to do when you're writing for this character? What's something you don't like?
I really love writing Aiura's character, she's so much fun! Her dialogue comes naturally to me, being also terminally online lmao. I do like to lean into her witchy competence a lot, it's not explored enough in canon and extremely rare in fanwork from what I've seen. She's literally a professional witch in canon, let's explore her honing and developing her skills and how her powers affect her worldview! There's nothing I don't love about her, she's a perfect character imo <3
24. What other character from another fandom of yours that reminds you of them?
Let's be real.... There's no one out there doing it like Aiura. She's one of a kind!!
Most future-seeing characters are glum and burdened by their powers and/or have developed learned helplessness from it, genuinely can't think of any that are chill about it while still working to help other people.
25. What was your first impression of this character? How about now?
Then -> Omg she's hilarious, I love her!!
Now -> Omg she's hilarious, I love her!! Wait how come she's not in the top 3 popular Saiki characters when she's so damn funny and interesting??
