Frannie, you are in over your head. Meaning? Meaning, guys like him don't marry girls like you. That's fairy tale. And girls like you get hurt, and guys like him don't even know it, and that's life.

Rock Bottom

Pairing: Mona X MC (Alexis Jennings)
Masterlist
Word count: 1.8 K (I really tried🤧)
Warnings: None, there is swearing, also there is a crossover 👀
Author's note: I'm taking part in @rodappreciationweek and this is my entry for day 3 (mona)
The hosts of RoDaw @client-327 @brightpinkpeppercorn and @choicesarehard are donating $5 usd to the Lebanese red cross, up to $500 for every piece of Mona content today! Please consider making/posting something for Mona today if you haven't already❤️
I'm also taking part in @wackydrabbles so you will find the prompt in bold
Forgive me if I make any mistakes
"Prisoners move back to your respective cells." The loudspeaker blared, cutting sharply through the air, giving Mona a cold splash of reality.
Until that godforsaken announcement, Mona had been sitting on the steps, her eyes closed as she enjoyed the cool breeze threading through her hair. The sun rays poured over her and she enjoyed the warmth emanating from them. She could smell the ocean and with her eyes closed, she could almost imagine standing on the shores of Santa Monica, the sound of the waves washing over her.
But there is only so much imagination one can use to forget that she was in jail.
To her darn luck, she had been transferred to Trask Island, a maximum security prison off the coast of Florida. It was one of those dreary prison where you were completely cut off from the world.
No call, no letters, no communication.
Whatever fucked up environment they created here, that was her world and Mona hated every second of it.
It was also called the 'rock' because one, it was on a island and two, it would drown all your hopes and wishes of a future, just like how a rock sinks in water.
No one has ever escaped Trask Island and no one ever will. The words of the warden echoed through her head making her scoff.
It's cute that he thinks I will be sticking around in this shit hole.
Mona was super determined to get the fuck out of here even though there were moments when she was completely and utterly lost.
She hated the orange tracksuits she had to wear. She hated the way these spiteful men dictated her life and tried to break her spirit. She hated being stuck in a tiny cell.
She longed to feel the adrenaline rush in her veins when she raced.
She longed to feel her hands gripping her steering wheel, as she drove at speeds defying gravity.
But most of all she longed for Alexis... The girl she left behind.
Mona found it ironic. After her ex ratted her to the police she swore that she would never let anyone have that power over her. That she would never wear her heart on her sleeve again. She built this impenetrable fortress around herself so that no one could enter and know the real her.
But Alexis managed to do that by just smiling at her.
The way their hands fit perfectly into each other's... The way that all her worries would go away when Alex was in her arms... The way that they both pushed each other, looked out for each other and challenged each other...
Mona had never witnessed such a feeling of companionship and she couldn't help but fall for her.
I love you Mona... Those words haunted her but at the same time motivated her to keep going through the motions of the day.
Her fantasies were abruptly interrupted by the guard kicking her combat boots. "Up and going, or do you want a month in solitary?"
And the thing she hated the most about this prison are the guards. I mean it was normal to hate them but this was some next level shit. She absolutely abhorred them to such a extent that she wanted to strangle them with her bare hands.
The number of times she was thrown into solitary was not even funny. And all of them were for the dumbest of the dumbest reasons.
Hell she was thrown in the hole for a fight she wasn't even part of.
All men are the same... Power hungry and drunk on greed. That's why girls are better.
So not wanting to risk living in the darkness for a month, she bit her tongue and got up before joining the other cellmates.
"What a dick." Eris Huang, an expert demolition muttered under her breath, so low that only Mona could hear it, causing her to snort.
In the six months she was here, she was low-key glad that she met Eris. They two met when Mona was moved into Eris' cell. Both were strong willed, hard headed and sarcastic woman so it wasn't really surprising that they became fast friends.
"Tell me about it. One of these days he is gonna piss me off so bad that I will end up castrating him with a blunt knife."
"Oof. I will hold him down and break his legs." Eris offered causing Mona to smirk. I like this girl.
"Anyways, I have a shift at the library so meet you later." Eris spoke.
"Get me another notebook if possible."
"What are you writing? A love letter?" Eris teased which made Mona roll her eyes but she wasn't very far off from the truth.
"A lady never tells." Mona answered causing Eris to chuckle as she took a left to go to the basement.
Mona reached her cell and she felt the the cell gate close behind her with a loud clang, which resonated in her ribcage.
Sure, hanging out in the yard and working in the workshop was a welcome distraction but staying in her small cell for more than 17 hours would make a girl lonely.
So, in all these hours of loneliness, sadness and hopelessness Mona found some sort of solace in writing about her dreams, list of things she was going to do once she was out, her aspirations... But most importantly, how much she missed Alex and how she wished to be by her side.
So settling into the corner of her bunk, she opened the notebook with tattered pages so that she could write.
Dear Alex, I know I told you to not let me imprison you but that's not applicable to me because you are always on my mind. It's hard to forget you. I miss you so much....
Do you know what day it is today? It's the fifth... Or I assume so because there is no calendar here. We aren't told what date, month, year it is. It's just days which sinks into the lonely nights and the cycle continues.
It's been six months since I last saw you... And I guess it just hit me hard.
It's just cruel how little time we had together.
I still remember that night. How happy we were in that cute little prom of yours. I still remember how heartbroken you were when I betrayed you.
But you didn't let it break you.
I still remember the way you took down those bastards. I still remember how fucking proud I felt on that moment. I still remember how I took a bullet for you and the shock that coloured your face.
And I know the thoughts which ran at your head in that moment. "Someone actually cares enough for me to take a bullet for me."
I'm here to tell you that yes, I took a bullet for you and I would do it a thousand times over just to prove that I love you and I care about you. I'm here to tell you that you are worth it and you deserve all the love in the world.
I wish I could hold you in my arms and tell you all of this but... Life loves fucking with me and you got caught as collateral.
It's just... Hard some days. Sure I have made friends with some other criminals and tried to make this fuckery my new normal but I'm only human. I'm few moments away from sinking to rock bottom, as shocking as that may sound.
You always perceived me as an aloof, careless and a strong badass but that changed when I met you.
Sure I was always strong but you make me stronger. You and me... We both are like two knives sharpening each other. Pushing each other to reach new heights of awesomeness.
But, I also want to worry for you. I want to appreciate you. I want to wake up next to you and I want to love you.
I often wish how we would have met if I had not gone down the wrong path. Would we have met at some pub? Or in some Ivy League college? Or some frat party?
People often say that you shouldn't waste time thinking about the things that could have been but when you are in a prison with nothing but time, that's all you seem to do.
So yeah, you are the only thing preventing me from going insane.
I think that's enough emotional bullshit for today and I'm low-key relieved that you aren't reading these letters, of me talking like a sap.
But one thing is for sure- I love you.
Yours, Mona.
She heard the electric buzzer and the door of her cell opened. Eris walked in with an impassive face with a guard standing at the entrance. He shut the cell gate and walked away.
Mona's eyes narrowed as she sat up straight. Wait a minute-
She waited for the guard to be far away before she spoke up. "You have a plan."
Eris turned the light off of the cell and plopped on to the bed opposite Mona's.
"Smartie. Always knew I did a good job of recruiting you."
"But how? Do you remember the last time you failed and ended up in the hole for a month and a half?!"
"Yes I do remember but this is foolproof. We have outside help."
"... I'm listening."
"Do you speak thief?" She asked which made Mona scoff in disbelief.
"Obviously. I have stolen cars and kidnapped people. Obviously I'm no amateur."
Eris proceeded to explain how her friends Rye and some other chick had come up with a plan. She listened with complete attention and only stopped her to ask valid questions.
"So... Are you in?"
Mona tried weighing the pros and cons. It's sounded a tad bit unrealistic and far fetched. There were a couple of loose ends which made her hesitate.
Eris noticed that and grasped her hand. "See Mona, no escape plan is perfect. This is a rough draft and we will work out the kinks. But remember, the three crucial things an escape plan needs is- Luck, faith and determination. We don't know about what lady luck has in store but, we sure can have faith and determination."
"I know that you hate it here and I know the punishment of escaping is harsh but what's wrong in trying? We are already suffering as it is, what's a little more? And I see that fire in your eyes, M."
"The fire to break free and the fire to go back to your girl."
Mona looked up and the momentary joy of getting to see Alexis soon. Adrenaline courses through her veins, causing her heart to beat faster.
Eris leaned forward, her voice intense. "So tell me- Would you like to blow this joint or rot in here for the next five years wishing you could have atleast tried?"
Mona's eyes met hers and a smirk formed in her face. Reaching forward she shook Eris's hands, sealing the deal.  "What the hell. This is without doubt the stupidest plan you've ever had. Of course I'm in."
Don't worry Alexis, I'm coming home.
Hope you liked it 😊

Klainetober one-shot - “Neck Nibbles” (Rated PG13)
Summary: Kurt wakes up to something biting his neck. Blaine claims it's a mosquito. When Kurt wakes in the morning, he discovers that perhaps Blaine was lying ... (2336 words)
Notes: A re-write for the @klainetober prompt 'vampire'. Follows 'One of Those Nights'.
Read on AO3.
Kurt feels a slight pinch, like the prick of a tiny needle injecting into his neck, and in his sleep, he swings a hand to bat the culprit away.
“Oof! Kurt!” Blaine groans, taking the hit square in the eye.
“Wha---?” Kurt mumbles, only partially awake. “What are you doing?” He snorts in a, frankly, unattractive way - a way reserved for muttering in his sleep - then shifts positions, rolling his hips left, then his body, till he’s lying on his side facing away from his boyfriend.
“I’m not doing anything,” Blaine replies. “Go back to sleep.”
Kurt arcs an eyebrow, but he doesn't open his eyes. "Are you sure?"
"Yes, I'm sure. Go back to sleep."
Kurt would say that Blaine sounds suspiciously awake and coherent for two fifty-two in the morning, but it’s times like these that Kurt forgets his boyfriend is a vampire, not the dapper Prince Charming he fell in love with back at Dalton.
“I’m trying,” Kurt complains, bringing the comforter up to his chin and holding it tight against him to protect his vulnerable neck. “But there’s a mosquito or something in here, and it’s bugging me … hee-hee … bugging me …” Kurt chuckles at his unintended pun, snorting again, which makes him laugh harder.
“I’ll kill it if it comes back,” Blaine promises. “Go back to sleep.”
“Mmm … okay …” Kurt agrees, shoving skepticism aside and snuggling against the hard body of his boyfriend, who usually opts to lie beside Kurt in bed even though he doesn’t need sleep. “As long as you (yawn) stay here to protect me.”
“Of course.” Blaine smiles, fangs bared as Kurt snores softly. “I’ll stay right here." He kisses Kurt lightly on the forehead. "I'm not going anywhere ...”
***
Kurt can feel the sun within his body telling him it’s time to rise - an occupational hazard of dating a vampire, this sixth sense about the oncoming dawn. It also means that Blaine has made himself scarce, banished to the dark corner of the bedroom by the closet where the sunlight doesn’t reach until noon. The sun has yet to breach the horizon and pierce his sheer drapes, but Kurt can feel it prickling behind his eyelids.
That’s odd.
Rarely does that happen unless he and Blaine have a hardcore make-out sesh with lots of biting involved. But weeks of putting in overtime at school and at the diner sent Kurt to bed early, so that definitely didn’t happen.
Heartbreaking.
Short of that strange symptom, his primary concern at the moment is the number that insect did on him last night. Kurt raises a hand to his neck, hissing when his fingertips come in contact with his sore skin.
“Ugh,” he grumbles, rolling his way out of bed. "Must have been a huge mosquito. Filthy bloodsucker ..." He cringes at his own remark, hoping he didn't inadvertently offend his boyfriend. He'll find out after he assesses the damage to his neck. Kurt has extremely sensitive skin. A single bite from a pernicious parasite can make him look like he has a goiter! He needs to figure out how much cover-up he’s going to need to apply before school.
His feet hit the floor, and immediately the urge to climb back into bed and hide under the covers overwhelms him.
He got a decent amount of sleep last night. Why is he so damned out of it?
Kurt stumbles blindly over to his vanity and drops onto the stool, groaning at the prospect of opening his eyes. The day would go so much easier if he could keep them shut, but that would probably make taking the subway way more challenging. Kurt blinks his eyes open, lids dragging over sticky corneas, objecting to the idea of letting light anywhere near his retinas. Kurt turns away from the mirror when a stream of light hits the reflective surface and brightens the room.
“Jeez,” Kurt mumbles, putting a hand to his aching head, shielding his eyes. “Hey, Blaine? Did you hand me a hard cider instead of a Diet Coke last night or something? Because I feel awful!”
Blaine doesn’t answer. A few more blinks confirm that Kurt’s boyfriend isn’t even in the room.
Uh-oh, Kurt thinks. That’s never a good sign.
Kurt rubs his eyes hard with the heels of his palms, blinking between rubs to kick-start the watering process. He manages to clear his bleary vision enough to get a decent glimpse of his reflection in the mirror, and his jaw drops.
“BLAINE!” Kurt roars when he sees the grotesque purple splotches running up and down his neck, covering nearly every conceivable inch of skin.
“Yes?” Blaine peeks his head in the bedroom door, biting his lower lip when he catches Kurt’s reflection in the mirror. “Can I help you with something, love?”
“Did you do this?” Kurt asks, pawing at his neck, running his fingertips over the marks, gasping in horror at the nastier ones.
“No?” Blaine says uneasily. “It was a mosquito. You ... you said so yourself.”
Kurt frowns.
Blaine is a horrible liar.
An incredible actor, but a horrible liar.
Not too long ago, Kurt and Blaine stumbled upon another vampire. A friendly vampire. Victim of circumstance, like Blaine, but for a far less comical reason. This vampire warned Kurt to be careful, said that now that Blaine was a vampire, he'd be better at hiding the truth.
But he isn't.
Not by a long shot.
He was a better liar when he was human.
Kurt pivots on his stool to glare angrily at Blaine since looking at his non-reflection through the mirror was getting irritating.
“A mosquito did this?” Kurt points to a particularly massive and vicious-looking bite, countering Blaine’s ridiculous lie.
“Y-yes?”
Kurt turns back to the mirror right as a more intense beam of sunlight hits the glass. He yelps, squeezing his eyes shut hard to avoid the glare.
“Dammit, Blaine!” Kurt leaps off the stool and races to the window to secure the black-out curtains. “You did bite me! I can feel it! All the way to the back of my brain!”
“Only a little,” Blaine finally admits, daring a few steps into the room.
“Only a little? I look like ground meat! Blaine!” Kurt staggers back to his vanity to better examine the damage.
“D-don’t freak out.” Blaine sits on the edge of the bed, watching Kurt set up his arsenal of foundation, intent on covering up the bruises. “The photophobia will wear off in a few hours.”
“It’s not the photophobia that’s bothering me.” Kurt opens a container of green base makeup to prep his violated neck. “If you wanted a late-night snack, could you have at least bitten a spot that won’t show? I have play practice this afternoon, and you know how important this is to me. I look diseased!”
“You could always wear a scarf,” Blaine suggests. "You have tons."
“I bought a new Marc Jacobs shirt with a V-neckline, and none of my scarves go with it,” Kurt argues, turning left and right, whimpering at his boyfriend’s handiwork. “And I was really looking forward to wearing it today.”
“Yeah ... I wanted to ask you about that …”
“Ask me about what?” Kurt asks, dabbing furiously.
“Why the departure from your leather jacket and t-shirts? I mean, you were into fashion when we met, but when I became a … you know …”
“Vampire?” Kurt offers flatly. He has come to terms with it, but, to be honest, there is a part of him that is having a hard time forgiving Blaine over it.
“Yeah, that,” Blaine says sheepishly. “You changed your look. And I know it might sound silly, but it meant something to me. Like, I transformed, and then you did, too. I thought you did it so we would match."
"I did," Kurt admits.
"So ... why are you buying designer clothes again?”
“Because this is an important production, and I want to look a little more professional,” Kurt explains. “I’m not doing it to hurt you if that’s what you think. I'm not that kind of person.”
Blaine nods, but he doesn’t look convinced. “Is it really that? Or is it because that blond with the sexy English accent is going to be there?”
"What?" Kurt stops fussing with his makeup, an applicator wedge slathered in primer poised an inch from his skin. "Why would you think ...?" Kurt's eyes go wide. “Wait, wait, wait …” He turns to face Blaine, whose gaze darts away to meticulously examine the threads of Kurt’s Valentina comforter. “Are you jealous?”
Blaine falls silent a moment, gets lost in thought. Then, as if suddenly remembering he's in the middle of a conversation, sputters a weak laugh.
“What? N-no. Not a bit. What do I have to be jealous of?”
“Exactly.” Kurt puts his makeup wedge down and scoots closer, placing his hands on Blaine’s knees. “What do you have to be jealous of?”
“Maybe the fact that you’re living the dream? Not just your dream, but mine, too. A dream I’m never going to be able to fulfill.” Blaine's eyes travel from the comforter to the floor, where a narrow ray of light spreads over the wood. “Or maybe … I'm jealous of this …” He sweeps a hand through the beam, his skin sizzling at the touch of sunlight.
“Blaine! Stop! Don’t hurt yourself!” Kurt reaches for Blaine’s burnt hand and holds it in his. He stands and pulls Blaine down the width of the bed, farther away from the window. Kurt sits beside him, rests his head on Blaine’s shoulder. “Oh, honey. We talked about this.”
Blaine shrugs the opposite shoulder, uncomfortable with laying his fears bare, but he doesn’t pull his hand away, curling his fingers over Kurt’s to keep them joined. Kurt looks into Blaine’s face, into glowing red eyes fighting to stay open as the oncoming dawn weighs heavy on him. Kurt knows Blaine’s transformation has been difficult for him to adjust to, but it has never been particularly challenging for them as a couple – not until Kurt landed the starring role in a play that had the potential to go from the humble student theater at NYADA to off-Broadway, with Kurt leading the charge. “No one is going to replace you. And that guy …” Kurt shakes his head. “He doesn’t even come close. Besides ..." Kurt grins "... I’m not the flirt in this relationship. You are.”
"Yeah, well, not so much anymore." Blaine chuckles, tired eyes lifting to meet Kurt’s.
"You have your moments." Kurt raises a hand to cup Blaine’s cold cheek. "You have to trust me."
“I do trust you.” Blaine turns into Kurt’s hand and kisses his wrist, right above the pulse that calls to him incessantly, echoing his need. Blaine doesn’t know if it’s the love he carried over into this immortal life or if that need has always been there, but he has a bond with Kurt – one that would devastate him if it was broken. “It’s that guy I don’t trust. I’ve been to your midnight rehearsals. I see the way he looks at you when he thinks you’re not paying attention.”
“And do you remember the way I used to look at you at Dalton when I thought you weren’t paying attention?”
“Yeah,” Blaine answers with a wistful laugh. “Yeah, I do.” If Blaine closes his eyes, he can see those furtive glances - Kurt's magical blue eyes grazing Blaine's face before returning to his books, smile growing, cheeks burning red.
God, he misses those days. Misses the excitement of newborn love, the kind of urgent, drama-filled attraction that happens only in high school. He mourns the fact that their life together, the one they had planned so carefully, came to such an abrupt end.
It was all his fault.
And nothing he can do will fix it.
“Well, I still do.” Kurt leans in close and presses a kiss to Blaine’s lips. Blaine smiles into it, wants it to go on forever, even when he feels his strength ebbing away. As the sun rises higher in the sky, Blaine’s need to find somewhere dark to rest amplifies, but he’ll do anything to stay like this and keep kissing his boyfriend.
But he can’t, even if he could convince Kurt to play hooky and stay home with him, and that’s one more thing he has to be jealous of.
“I should let you get back to your cover-up,” Blaine says, relinquishing his grip on Kurt’s hand. Kurt looks at his vanity, at the army of small bottles and jars awaiting him, all very expensive. And not a one of them more important than his boyfriend. Not even his clear, alabaster skin is more important to him than Blaine.
“You know what? Fuck it!” Kurt jumps up the bed and pulls Blaine along with him. “So what if I wear a scarf that doesn't match? No one at NYADA really knows fashion anyway."
"What about ... what about the play?" Blaine argues but he's not fighting. He couldn't if he wanted to.
And Lord knows, he doesn't want to.
"I’ll have the makeup girl cover them up. Let her earn her keep. This way, everybody gets to see the marks my baby gave me.”
“Really?” Blaine raises an eyebrow.
Kurt tugs Blaine on top of him, and Blaine carefully settles over Kurt’s body.
“Yup. In fact, I think I can handle a few more, if you’re not too tired, that is.” Kurt loops his arms around Blaine’s neck, threading his fingers into his hair. His skin may be unnaturally cool to the touch, but his hair still feels like silk. It’s one of Kurt’s favorite things about Blaine’s new body.
“I think I can do that,” Blaine says, biding past the daybreak and finding a clear spot on Kurt’s neck. “We’ll give that makeup girl a run for her money.”

The Time Between (Chapter 2)
You can find all my other works here!
Smack!
My face stung from the blow, jolting me awake. Cracking my eyes open, the culprit responsible for my abrupt awakening stood with his arms folded, and a scowl on his face. A sleepy smile grew on my lips and I said, “Good Morning, Oliver.”
“It’s noon,” Oliver corrected, his voice not as deep as it had been last night. His gray eyes narrowed even more, clearly upset with the break in his routine. “How am I supposed to read my newspaper and enjoy a cup of tea when your lazy self is stretched out on my couch?”
Oh, so that’s what he hit me with. The newspaper. I’m interrupting his typical routine. Striking like a cobra, I snatched his wrists and pulled him onto the couch with me and latched all my limbs around his small form. “Then good afternoon, Oliver,” I cooed. Daytime Oliver is much easier to tease than nighttime Oliver.
“You idiot! Let me go!” He went straight into a rage, which only amused me when I could easily overpower him. His hat tumbled to the floor, eyes filled with unkempt anger.
“Shh, during the day, you’re my little cuddle toy. Accept it,” I snuggled his writhing body closer, tightening my grip. Petting his hair softly, laughter bubbled up. “Accept it, enjoy it.”
Oliver managed to get one arm free and drove his elbow back into the side of my face. His small arms and awkward position didn’t cause much damage, but it startled me enough that he could free himself from the prison. Straightening the wrinkles out of his clothes, Oliver grumbled to himself. The inevitable lecture was swiftly cut off by a loud banging at the door. “Another Godspeed to pester me during my tea time.”
Resting my eyes again, I still wasn’t quite ready to start the afternoon. The door creaked open and a one-sided conversation was barely audible. Maybe we had been wrong to assume that it was Fenrir. He’s incapable of being so quiet— “Oof!”
My back cracked under the weight of Fenrir plopping down on top of me. All the air left my body. “Geez, you’re heavy! Get off me!” I started to protest but Fenrir’s hand shoved my face down into the cushion, muffling my words.
Fenrir gasped dramatically, shifting his weight to the left and then the right to slowly look around the room. “Oliver, did you hear that? It sounded like my little sister, but I don’t see her anywhere…”
“Fenrir!”
He leaned back, putting all his weight on me. “That’s so strange.”
Groaning loudly, I dreaded having to say it. My inability to breathe and the cracking of my spine overpowered everything else. “Fine!” I wheezed. “You’re the best brother in the whole world and I’ll never be as cool or awesome as you!”
Fenrir removed himself from me, ignoring my death glare. He wiped away a fake tear. “That was beautiful, Ari. I had no idea that you felt that way about your big brother. I’m so touched,” he sniffed, pretending to be moved.
“I’ve finished the modifications on your weapon,” Oliver interrupted, oddly smug about the situation. After what I’d done, he saw it as karma. Fenrir followed after him, all kinds of excited adjectives being said as praise.
There’s no way I’m going to be able to go back to sleep again. Slightly hunched from the ache in my back, I found my way to the kitchen. The tea Oliver made had run cold, so it wouldn’t hurt to make a new pot. With the kettle on the stove, I leaned back against the counter, gaze fixed on the garden just beyond the open window.
The sun had risen to its peak, warming the air. A gentle breeze swam through the garden, lifting up the smell of the red and white roses that had just begun to bloom. The soft chirping of birds and the buzzing of the bees signaled that Spring had finally arrived. The garden would need to be spruced up and weeded soon.
The shrill whistling of the kettle broke the serene sounds of nature. My head pounded from the noise, a reminder that last nights drinking had gotten out of control again. Taking the tea outside had been the plan, but this hangover would writhe in the bright rays of sunshine. Pouring two fresh cups in matching teacups and saucers, I blew on the hot liquid.
“You’re still here? Don’t you have work?” Oliver asked, returning from his business deal with Fenrir. He dumped the cold tea in the sink, and gratefully took the fresh cup from the counter. His grey eyes searched my features. “Did you quit?”
Flinching at the accusation, I stared down into the tea. Steam rose from it, dissipating into the air. “They offered me a promotion… said they would do anything to please their bosses. My parents are relentless.”
The Godspeed company owns half of the Black Territory already. Fenrir joined the army to get away from their clutches. That had been an option for me, but I didn’t really care for it. The first few jobs I had were hard, but I learned to work them well. Then my parents swooped in and bought the company, making the demand that I be given a higher position that made more money.
“Come work a trial for me. You can see how you like it and I can assess if I want to hire you,” Oliver offered, sipping at his tea. There was no hint of sarcasm in his voice.
I set the cup aside, losing my taste for it. “Another charity job.”
Oliver narrowed his eyes, annoyed. “No. It’s not. I’m not offering because your Arielle Godspeed. I know that you work hard for jobs that you like. Customers like to talk to you, to buy from you because of your welcoming personality, not because of your family name.”
“And if I suck?”
“Then I’ll just have to train you harder, until you can do it at my standards,” Oliver answered with a shrug. He had made an offer once before to hire me, but at the time, I hadn’t thought he actually wanted me to work at his shop.
I sighed. As much as that idea appealed to me… “They’ll try to buy you out too.”
“I’m not a push over.”
“Then they’ll work to undermine your business. Either way, I’ll just bring disaster to your work,” I argued. The emotions swirling inside were in a battle: anxiety for ruining his business, gratefulness that he cares enough to offer me the job, anger for needing to rely on him for getting a job away from my parents.
Oliver’s teacup clattered against the saucer, sloshing lukewarm tea on the countertop. He closed the distance between us, reaching up to grab the material of my shirt, and yanking me down to be level with him. “It sounds to me like you’re looking for an excuse to say no. Quit hiding behind your skewed morals and be honest with me. You’re scared. That’s obvious,” Oliver said, grey eyes searching my mint ones for the truth.
The room fell under a loud silence, both of us stuck in a moment. He wanted answers that I couldn’t give. Blanc cleared his throat from the doorway, a soft but awkward smile on his lips. “Pardon the intrusion, but Oliver has a customer needing attention at the shop. I realize that you’re closed today, but they seem to be waiting anyways.” He had come to the rescue at the perfect moment.
“I’ll only keep the job offer for a little while, so make a decision, Ari,” Oliver said, releasing his tight grip on my shirt. He didn’t cast another glance in my direction as he left. His words however showed how much he truly wanted to help me.
Thankfully, Blanc had the sense to remain quiet as I gathered my things to leave. He only gave a goodbye when I exited the front door. The bar had only just open, not a single person inside. Collapsing into a stool, I rested my head on my forearm. The right thing to do would be to take the job. It only makes sense. But part of me worried about what that would mean for Oliver and me.
A glass clinked on the counter in front of me, Dee gave me a wink. “The first one is on the house, Ari.”
Downing it in one go, it scorched my throat. “Keep them coming. I want to forget for a while.”
“You got it, babe,” he answered, topping off the shot glass.
The plan for my evening was to get completely wasted, and deal with my problems tomorrow.

I absolutely adore Oliver and Ari together. I hope you enjoyed this chapter! The next one is going to hold some Kyle and Ari time.

Tumblr media
"Just fucking hit him, you pussy!" Frank screamed, almost tearing his hair out in frustration.
"FUCK OFF, YOU SON OF A BITCH!" Gerard yelled back, his fingers moving furiously.
The figures on the screen battled with one another, the gloriously deep voice of the Mortal Kombat narrator declaring, "FINISH HIM." as Gerard's figure sent Ray's keeling over. Gerard pulled a quick move and sent Ray flying, Ray screaming in defeat as Gerard shrieked and pumped his fists in victory, Frank high-fiving him and yelling insults at Ray as he curled up in embarrassment on the couch and fake cried.
Mikey's chest rumbled against your back as he chuckled and you grinned, looking back at him as the chaos ensued around you.
Mikey Way. You didn't want to be too cheesy, but he was really everything you'd dreamed of as an angsty teenager. Quiet, brooding, caring, genuine, and actually funny once you broke down his walls. And he looked at you like you were something special, which made your heart race, but you were unfailingly certain that it was just because he valued you as a friend so much. He looked at the band in similar ways, care and appreciation in his eyes as they exited the stage night after night and sweatily hugged it out. So you just brushed it off, but your feelings were so built up in a concentrated place in your heart that you thought it might burst at some time.
"My brother's not intimidating," he noted offhandedly, his arms wrapping around you in a hug as he pulled you back against his chest, taking a deep breath and exhaling slowly. You shifted slightly to get comfortable and rested your head on his shoulder, watching the screen as Frank started a new match with Gerard. Mikey's arms stayed around you, making you blush lightly as you smiled a little.
"Why are you blushing?" he teased gently, squeezing your side. You blushed even more as you buried your face in his t-shirt, the smell of his cologne making you smile wider.
"I'm not blushing. It's hot in here, my face is probably red" you blatantly lied. Mikey nuzzled your hair slightly, just slightly so that no one but you noticed, and he talked low enough for only you to hear, even though Frank was only a few feet away from you.
"Bullshit, Y/N," he mumbled. "Tell me the truth or I'll tickle you."
Your eyes widened and you whined softly, turning to face him and looking up at him. "I-I blushed... I blushed because-" you swallowed hard, wondering whether or not you should say it. It might ruin a friendship you cherished and get you fired as merch manager, but your heart screamed and your mind melted as you finally sighed shakily. "I blushed because your arms being around me felt nice. It felt like we were a couple for a second and it made me feel happy because you were holding me possessively, like maybe I was yours for a second."
Mikey was quiet for a moment, studying your face as you laid it all out on the table for him, biting your lip anxiously. Then he smiled and chuckled once, looking back up to the screen and not saying anything. Your jaw dropped and you smacked his chest gently, straddling his hips and demanding attention from him. "Michael Way, you did not just ignore me!" you said, the boys yelling about Mortal Kombat too loudly to hear you.
"I didn't ignore you," he replied, shrugging before looking back at you and grinning lopsidedly. His arms snaked around your waist and pulled your torso to his tightly, making you 'oof' softly as the breath was knocked out of you. "I was just thinking, hey, what if she was my girlfriend? And then I smiled."
"Smiled becaaaauuusse.." you furthered, raising an eyebrow slightly.
"Because I liked the thought," he admitted, his eyes flitting down to your lips before looking back up at your eyes, his facial expression stony and eyes level as you both stared at each other, unsure of what to do next.
Almost by impulse and complete coincidence, you both went to kiss each other at almost exactly the same time. Your lips smashed together, sloppy at first, but you both quickly got into a rhythm and his hand gripped your side gently as you cupped his face, your lips moving together. Your heart raced as your mind went blank, focused on Mikey only, and you couldn't help but smile against his lips, blushing as you heard but didn't see the boys gagging overdramatically at you two and several exiting. Frank was the last to exit, looking at you two and groaning disgustedly before muttering, "Happy you guys finally figured it out but really?" With that, he left and you two were left alone, which admittedly made you feel a little mischievous. Mikey picked up on the increased sexual tension in the air and deepened the kiss without sparing another moment, his hands roaming down to your hips before smoothly slipping into the back of your pants and coming to rest on your ass.
You pulled away slowly, opening your eyes to find that he'd already opened his, and you both locked gazes. His eyes were noticeably darker and he smirked slightly before blowing a hair out of his face and gently tugging your shirt off, looking up and down your body slowly before looking up at you. "I've imagined this sight a lot, honestly, but I never thought I'd actually get to see it," he admitted, making you blush and duck your head down to kiss him again, this time more heated from the get-go. It didn't seem like he desired to take your bra off from the way he currently fumbled with the button of your pants, which was nice because it probably would have made you incredibly nervous about your body for the first time. Instead, you carefully pushed off your pants and moved your lips to his jaw, not even bothering to take off his shirt as you toyed with the button on his pants, smiling playfully and nipping at the skin just under his chin, making him groan softly and lift his hips up to grind against you. You moaned softly in response, grinding your hips down against him and blushing at the fact that you were even doing this right now. Pushing his pants down, you started to pull his boxers down when he reached down and pushed aside your panties, starting to rub your clit slowly as he kissed along your shoulder and up your neck, leaving little bites along the way.
"Y/N," he murmured, rubbing your hips as he made his way along your jaw. "You sure you want to do this?" His fingers worked expertly at your core, making your moan shakily and nod. He scrutinized your face for a moment after pulling away to look at you, and what he saw seemed to please him enough as he pushed down his boxers and pants, catching your lips in a deep kiss as he carefully pushed your panties aside, carefully positioning himself and pressing the tip of his length into your entrance, kissing your forehead as he looked at you and smirked quickly before thrusting into you. You cried out in surprise, gripping his shoulders tightly, and he started to thrust into you slowly, keeping eye contact as he bit his lip.
Your bodies moved with one another, your hips meeting his with each thrust as you gripped his shoulders tightly, waves of pleasure rolling through your entire body. You rolled your hips, moaning his name as he held your hips tightly and helped guide you, kissing your temple and breathing shallowly. It was an odd place and time for you to be having sex with Mikey, but you honestly didn't care as your skin met his, sending electric pulses throughout your body. You felt like you were on cloud 9 as he moaned out your name, thrusting faster and causing you to arch your back slightly in pleasure. He tangled a hand in your hair, sloppily kissing you as you both moved your hips faster, your hearts beating erratically in off-time and hands grasping at each other needily as you both got closer and closer to your highs.
"Oh my god, Y/N," he cursed under his breath, his thrusts starting to get sloppy. You sensed that he was far too close, so you rolled your hips and triggered his climax. His breath hitched in his throat as he gripped your sides tightly, riding out his high and finishing it out with a low groan and a fluttering of his eyelashes.
His head fell backwards against the couch as you dismounted, cleaning both of you up and getting dressed back up. He finally noticed what you were doing when you sat back down next to him and his eyebrows furrowed, his eyelids flying open as he looked straight at you. "You didn't finish!" he said, obviously in shock. "Let me help you finish."
"No, no, no," you replied, pushing his hands away and leaning up to kiss him gently, grinning slightly against his lips and murmuring. "It'll be my turn next time." You could feel his lips curl into a devilish smile as he heard that.
"Next time? I think I like the sound of that."
i’m back bitches!!!!???
