this is a genuine question: in that video of the orbatid mites on the watermelon rind, they're all walking around. where are they going? just exploring for a better chance at spreading out effectively? what makes em waltz around so much? i guess this is a question for all bugs that aren't eusocial

they are freaking out and fleeing because I turned a light on. if it was still dark they would just be sitting there eating it

They are getting big! Still white flies but the lady bugs are on their way! Might move the girls and boys outside in a staggered manner to make room for the crypto miners! To tell you the truth id rather just focus on the crypto for the indoors and use our greenhouse for a more chill and easy thing to casually work on. The fabric pots are loaded with earthworms, orbatids , the mites that eat gnats and hopefully eggs from the mite that eats white flies and aphids.
