“ I-I’d definitely feel more confident if you didn’t sound worried yourself...! ” This whole 'sneaking’ thing was very, very much out of Pit’s area of expertise - even beyond not knowing much about stealth, skipping around the rules was something Pit wasn’t used to doing at all. As much as he understood, Zelda wanted to go out and Hyrule, he’d long since understood that being cooped up in the castle was tiring... but the thought of sneaking out when the castle guards wouldn’t see was something that would’ve never fallen in under something he’d do to address it himself!

The two currently stopped behind a castle bush, Pit asks, “ I mean - I know you said you know what you’re doing and all, but... I mean, if they do catch us - you’re sure they’re not gonna, you know, call me a criminal or try and execute me or anything, right? I’d really rather not get on their bad side...! ” Not that he was at any risk of them finishing him - worst case he could easily be extracted or revived besides, but it would be hard to take his friend up on any future offers to see her home, to see Hyrule and its sights with her if the castle was going to deem her an enemy of the land or something. Maybe he was being paranoid? Hopefully? But then, humans - Hylians - were awfully defensive of their rulers...

Not that that’s something he’d understand.

No...No that couldn’t be it. The longer he looked, the more he could start to pick apart differences. This wasn’t Zelda.

The hero swallowed, straightening his posture ever so slightly as he ran through his options. Either he played along and....tried to figure something out, or he could confront her and...and go from there? Goddesses above, who was he looking at right now-

𝐸verything happened so quickly！One minute Link was clumsily clutching the Captain’s  ‘borrowed’ sword﹐the next﹐drilling an arrow of pure light through Yuga’s skull．In the blinding rush of all that transpired﹐so much went unsaid．Sometimes Link could still feel the adrenaline-charged whirlwind surging through him﹐only to blink ＆recall it passed him by．

  Joker... couldn’t delve into the specifics of his firearm. There was a small chance that doing so would negate the effect of it, make it function like the dud it really was. But he didn’t mind indulging Zelda’s curiosity in some capacity, and drew the pistol from his coat to show it off to her up close (aimed away from her, of course, and he hoped she’d keep it that way).

  “It’s just a pistol.”

  With a little sleight of hand, he flicked a switch on it— the safety. With it in place, the model trigger wouldn’t pull. With that in mind, he flipped the gun around in his hand so that he was holding the barrel, with the handle of it extended towards the princess. This was... potentially a terrible idea, and Mona would no doubt call him out for it. But hey, he was all for showing off, even if the pistol wasn’t his own handiwork.

  “Wanna take a look?”

—as the dizziness subsides , ravio can’t help but pump a fist in the air and grin - it worked !! the sky above him is a brilliant blue , hyrule castle stands where lorule’s was just moments ago , and he’s sitting on grass that really is greener on the other side . he stands quickly , almost toppling over in his dizzy haste , and begins trekking toward the castle . he’d love to visit mr. hero right away , but the castle is closer - and besides , isn’t it proper manners to greet royalty first ? he is a representative of princess hilda , after all .

he gets his bearings , and then heads for the side of the castle . he’s not going to get past the guards , not with the same face as mr. hero , so he crosses his fingers that the secret entrances are the same in both palaces . his lucky streak continues , and he manages to slip into the courtyard unseen .

he finds princess zelda among the flowers , distracted and facing away . not wanting to startle her , ravio speaks from a distance , ready to grin and wave when she turns around . “ good afternoon , your highness !! betch’a never thought you’d see little ol’ me again , didja ? ”

“ - Oh. ” What an odd sentence for Pit to be caught off-guard with. Such a sentiment only went without saying, didn’t it? They were friends, after all. Yet hearing the words spoken, so sincerely, with the time the two have spent together - it caught him a bit more than it probably should have. Was it... just the fact she did consider him close enough to trust him in the first place.

“ Eheh, well - thanks, I’m glad to know that! You can - uh, you can definitely trust me with anything at all! And I definitely trust you too. ”

  If there was one thing relatively new to Rock in the world of the tournament, it was dealing with royalty. So, so much royalty. They weren’t scary (with some noteworthy exceptions in Bowser and Ganon), but he had no experience in speaking with them! Should he be overly formal? Was being overly formal considered rude and impersonal in and of itself? He couldn’t be sure. 

  One way to learn things is to throw oneself into the deep end of the pool and learn how to swim by not drowning, and... well, this was the mindset when he found Zelda somewhere within the tournament grounds. He knew, at least where he came from, wearing hats could be seen as informal, so Rock took a moment to remove the blue helmet from his head, revealing a messy bed of blackish-blue hair beneath. 

  “H-Hi, Princess?” Looking up at Zelda, he wasn’t terribly good at hiding his nervousness. “I’m always trying to learn more about the others here. Would you mind me asking you?”
