amalice spent her life fighting against her inherent nature and bloodline and power because she wanted to be a force of good in the world (unlike her parents), but from the second she was given her mythic powers it’s corrupted and maimed her into exactly the kind of person she didn’t want to be

btw congratulations to pathfinder wotr for finally making me kill a companion in a video game
my thoughts (includes spoilers) under the cut
i like the idea of a companion like this but i feel like the execution wasn’t quite there and her writing just… fell flat? the moment you meet her, you can pretty much figure out that she is a murderer. i think it could’ve been a bit more interesting if the whole thing hadn’t been so much on the nose and finding out the truth would have taken longer. maybe in the end you would have felt like you have been betrayed/fooled. but the way it all comes down in the middle of the game in act 3 doesn’t really surprise you. it also doesn’t leave you with much of a choice if you are roleplaying as a good character (unless you’re a bit naive and buy her excuse).
but yeah, i don’t like to get rid of characters just because they’re are evil or i don’t agree with them. usually i even enjoy characters like that. they can offer new perspectives to situations and bring out different sides of other companions, or they can just be really funny. with camellia i did few times chuckle at her creepy or snide comments but overall she just felt… almost boring? like what else is there to her?
i was worried that i would end up regret killing her, but now in act 4 i barely remember that she ever even existed and i don’t really miss having her around. but i will probably watch the rest of her questline from youtube at some point, to see if there’s more depth to her character and if i’m majorly missing out.

i love how everything that happens in wotr is basically a story [redacted] tells to pharasma. like i'm sure that the part where the commander had gay sex for four hours was a very important detail that helped pharasma to decide on the verdict.

somehow ended up starting pathfinder: wrath of the righteous. i'm predictable so of course i made a tiefling and for some reason this description of devil-spawn keeps cracking me up:
like i can just imagine my character having a little notebook where he furiously writers every time someone is even a tiny bit late or fails to follow a plan down to a T. ten strikes and you are out!

not as polished as I would like but !! I wanted to get the idea of calistrian luthais out of my head
I like to imagine that over time he spent some of that assassin salary on having the worst of the burn scars on his hands/arms/face healed. the left side of his hair is the first to turn blonde as it grows back in from burning down to his scalp but eventually all of his hair turns the same color and he cuts out the last of the brown
the whip is probably mostly for show. I'm sure he picked up a few tricks with it, maybe not necessarily for... combat use though...
