•──────────────────★•♛•★─────────────────•
Crouched down in the bushes, you could feel the fine hairs at the back of your neck standing on edge; you and Zussman had been paired together for the latest patrol, as you always were.
You worked well together, the perfect dynamic duo; even Pierson couldn't deny it, and knew all too well that if he wanted results, it was you and Zussman who would get them. Zussman was the brains between you, more thoughtful in his decisions, but you were hot headed and took actions over plans every time.
The perfect opposites.
Your temper's fire burned brightly and harshly, and his cool demeanour and relaxed nature was as soft as the kiss of the year's first snow. You were a great match. Red, especially, liked the fact that you and Zussman were a great match together.
It suited you both, you balanced each other out. But even then, you and Zussman were not without your own interpersonal issues; when the battalion teamed up with the British SOE, something changed between you and Zussman.
The two agents who had been assigned - Vivian and Arthur - were… getting in the way. It started out just fine, but the more time that the British agents pulled you away from Zussman, the more he didn’t like it one bit; there seemed to be something going on, something that he absolutely despised but couldn’t be sure why.
Whenever Red pulled you away from him, Zussman didn’t mind whatsoever. After all, you were good friends with Red, and Red had his beloved Hazel waiting for him back home; in fact, Zussman liked the fact that you and Red were so close - his best friend and his favourite corporal getting along was like the perfect dream.
There just happened to be something about the British agents that rubbed Zussman the wrong way.
Maybe it was the way that Arthur smiled at you so sweetly and how he often complimented your looks; maybe it was the way that Vivian always blushed when she laughed at your jokes and how she often made you coffee in the mornings.
Zussman didn’t like it, he felt replaced, like you no longer wanted to be around him and you would have preferred to spend time with others instead of him. Like you no longer wanted to be around him, wanted nothing to do with him.
It was upsetting, really, and he wasn’t really sure how to go about it in all honesty. It was a harsh and cold day, the snow had been falling even harder than it had been the last few days, and the ice on the roads made the asphalt slick and unsteady; the winds had been blowing harshly, howling and screaming constantly.
Zussman had given you his coat a few hours ago, insisting on keeping you warm while he waited in the foxhole with you; it was impossible to go back to camp, the snow was falling thickly and heavily, blowing in your faces the very moment you tried to get out.
You were forced to hide out until the snow storm passed, until it all blew over for good. Zussman looked at you, clearing his throat as he moved a little closer, chewing the inside of his lip.
“I’ve been thinking lately…”
“Oh, no.” You eyed him suspiciously. “That’s never good.”
Zussman rolled his eyes, shaking his head as he glared at you. “No, I mean it, I just… what’s the deal with you and those British agents?”
You scoffed as you lit up a cigarette, handing it over to him before lighting another for yourself. “What’d you mean, Rob?”’
Sighing heavily, he took a drag from the cigarette and shrugged, pouting slightly. “Just… you seem to really like ‘em, y’know, and they really like you.”
You shrugged, rubbing the back of your neck for a moment, the cigarette dangling from your lips. “Yeah, I mean, they’re nice, and they’re both really smart.”
He hummed, frowning a little as he hung his head and licked his lips. “So, uh, you’re gonna get pretty close to them?”
“I mean, I doubt it,” you laughed softly. “They’re only helping us out for a little while, and… well, I ain’t gonna see the end of the war, so I can’t, y’know, see being friends with them for… y’know.”
“Right,” Zussman said quietly. “But, uhm… do you, y’know, do you see yourself being friends with them while they’re here?”
“You’re acting weird,” you told him with a shrug. “You sure you’re alright?”
He shook his head, grumbling softly. “I just… y’know, I don’t… I feel replaced, for fuck’s sake. Like you’d rather spend time with them.”
You moved a little closer to him, resting your head against his shoulder as you hummed quietly; your hand resting on his thigh as you smiled softly at him. “Oh, Robbie.”
“What?”
“It’s alright to get jealous,” you told him gently. “I just wish you would’ve said sooner.”
“Why?”
“Because then I could’ve done this,” you chuckled, leaning over and softly kissing him.
Zussman grinned, putting his hand at the back of your neck so he could deepen the kiss, groaning softly when you moved to sit on his lap, your hands on his shoulders; he eventually broke the kiss, smiling up at you as he raised his brows, licking his lips.
“Well, hi, Corporal,” he breathed out.
“Good afternoon, Private,” you hummed softly, letting your hands rest on his chest. “Say, you wouldn’t think there’s anything going on between me and the British officers, would you?”
Zussman shook his head. “No… not at all. I just want you to admit one thing for me.”
“Oh?”
“Admit that you really did fall for the handsome, American G.I.” He grinned, letting his hands drift down to your thighs and grabbing them tightly. “Think you can do that?”
You grinned back as you adjusted yourself on his lap, humming softly as you cleared your throat and tried not to laugh. “Alright, maybe I did fall for the handsome, American G.I., a lot more than what I could’ve guessed.”

“It as getting harder each day, know matter how hard you tried, know matter how much of a good medic you were you still lost good people.
Way to many good people.
You did your best not to cry, you did your best to stay strong but you couldn’t. Stepping out the make shift tent you bit back a sob, your hand covering your mouth, tears rolling down your cheeks.
You jolted feeling a hand on your shoulder, quickly wiping your cheeks dry you glanced up spotting Zussman. “I didn’t wake you…did I?”
Zussman let out a snort shaking his head as he took a hit of his cigarette. “Nah! I just came out here to smoke.” Pausing he then sat down beside of you as he grasped your hand gently. “It’s not your fault you know.”
Lips trembling, you rested your head on his shoulder as he wrapped his arm around your waist tugging you close. “I…”
Rubbing your back, he let you cry into his chest, he would stay by your side. He knew you were scared, hurt, upset with all this war happening around you.
He would be strong for you, he had to be.
“You’re the best damn medic we have. So don’t worry, I’m here for you.”

Robert Zussman x Female Reader
Agent Falcon, you are on a special mission which means that you are a spy trying to collect intel on the German soldiers. Your mission is to be with the 1st Infantry Division. Stay with them and you will be fine. Oh, also this mission will have to be dealt with care, seeing that you will have a partner to have your back at all the times. You have to have a partner with you Agent Falcon so try to back out of this. Just get the brief case from Heinrich and then get out. That is all you have to do. Be on your best behavior and don't get caught up in your partner's charm. Good luck, Agent Falcon.

Author's Note: Hello! This part two of the Zussman x Female Reader. I tried to stick close to the game story as much as possible but then I kind of got caught up in kind of putting my own spin on it. Anyway, I hope you guys enjoy! Let me know if I left out any warnings! Happy Holidays!
--------------------
Part 2:
"You're back already? I thought that your debriefing would have taken longer than that." Zussman looks up from where he is sitting at the table. Twirling his knife around in his fingers make you wonder what those fingers would feel like on you. "What's wrong?" You shake your head trying to get your head out of the gutter.
"Nothing, I just I didn't have good meeting with Lieutenant Turner or Sargent Pierson for that matter." Zussman stands up and makes his way over to you, sheathing his knife. When he gets close to you, he takes your hand and kisses it. You are momentarily frozen as he takes your other hand kisses too. When he leans in that's when you can smell the liquor on his breath. You take a step back making him look at you with confusion. "You're drunk and hurt. I need to take a look at your wound."
"How do you know that I'm drunk and hurt?" You walk over to where your medicine bag and bring it to the table. You motion for him to sit down as go back to grab one of the liquor bottles. When you come back you see him track your movements. You feel heat rise to your neck and other parts of your body. You pull up another chair and sit down getting your supplies ready when you realize that this will be the first time you see Zussman shirtless. The butterflies in your stomach start up, making your whole body go up in temperature. You clear your throat as you try to get the butterflies to stop moving.
"I… uh, need you to take off your shirt. I need to see how bad the wound is." Zussman's lips tilt up in a smirk. He gets up and takes off the t-shirt that was clinging to his muscles before. You try to advert your eyes, but your eyes seem to have a mind of their own as they stay on his chiseled chest and abs. You track every muscle and every scar you see on his chest before traveling lower and seeing the red happy trail of hair. Your eyes take everything they can before finally landing on the wound that looks inflamed. You look away as you feel Zussman stare at you with amusement. "You can sit down now." He huffs out a laugh.
"Is that what you want me to do, Princess? Or do you want me to do something very different then sit down?" You feel the blush creep up your neck further.
"Zussman, please sit down." He throws his hand up in defense. When he sits down you hand him your canteen and some bread you had left in your bag. "This is water and food. You need to eat and drink water because I need you at least a little sober." He just sits there staring at you as you get clean cloth from your bag. "What?" He shakes his head.
"Nothing, it's just good to see you again, Falcon. How have you been?" You smile a little as you can see the nervous boy from your childhood return to the soldier that is sitting right next to you. "Why are you laughing at me?" You bite your lip to keep the laughter from spilling out.
"I'm not! I just think that it's cute that you care about how I've been. That's all." You see that smile that use to brighten up your day. You feel your heart stutter at the sight of it again. "I need to ask you some questions, ok?" He holds his hand telling you can ask away. "When did you get this wound?" You start analyzing it and see that it's not infected yet, but it will be soon if you don't clean it really good and bandage it up.
"It was a while ago. Can I ask you a question now?" You try to concentrate on cleaning his wound not on the nerves. You look up at him and nod your head.
"Why did you leave Chicago?" Your hands stop moving as you hear Zussman's tone. He's hurt that you left him. After all these years? There really was no staying in Chicago after your parents got a new job in Germany. Plus, your father was from there, so it just made since. And even if you could have stayed in Chicago you had no money to support yourself or any life skills yet. You resume working on cleaning his wound as you focus on what to say.
"My father got job over there as a spy for America. They thought since he was German he could spy in on the Germans and no one would bat an eye. Which lead to me doing the very same. It just made more sense to move over there because my father used to live there. Even if I could have stayed in Chicago, I wouldn't have had any money to support me or a job. I didn't have any life skills yet, so I had to move with them." Zussman blows out a breath like he's working up the courage to say something.
"I thought of you every single day after you left. Do you know that? Every day I would think about you the one that was with me everyday and then all of the sudden you weren't. I tried writing to you but I could never put my words onto paper." Your breath hitches as you finish up cleaning his wound and now wrapping it. You try not to look at his eyes because you know that of you do there won't be going back. "Do you want hear something?" You keep quiet as you wrap his wound. "I had the biggest crush on you ever since we were little kids. Even when you left, I tried dating, but no one compared to you. No one, y/n." You feel your heart pick up speed as you cut the bandage and finish tending to his wound. "You are still one of the prettiest girls I have ever seen, y/n." When your done you set everything back in your bag trying to not look at Zussman. You feel him lean over and touch your hand. "I need you to look at me, y/n." Your breath starts coming in quickly as he slowly turns you around and tilt your chin up making you look in his deep green eyes. "That wasn't so hard now, was it?" You lips tilt up. "Say something, y/n." You two scoot closer together as he starts leaning closer to you.
"I had a crush on you too, Zussman. And the day that I left I wanted to run away and go to you." He groans and presses his lips to yours. The kiss starts off gentle then progresses into something more hungry and more urgent.
"I thought about marrying you, y/n. Did you know that? When I was old enough I was going to marry you." He breaks the kiss to mumble that into your neck as his lips make their way down it. "And do you want to know the first thing I thought when I saw you again?" You let out a breathy moan as he continues. "I thought, "I have finally found my soulmate." And this time I am not going to let you get away from me." He starts unbuttoning your uniform, pulling you closer so you can wrap your legs around his waist. Your hands explore his chest and abs, memorizing the scars and contours of his torso. You want to ingrain he does into your brain so that you never forget it. You feel him shiver at your touch as he lifts you and takes you to a part of the building you never saw before. You would ask where he's taking you but with him sucking on your pulse it's kind of hard to focus. "You think too loud, my love. We are going to a private area in the house so that I am the only one that can see you naked. Because if any of these soldiers see anything of yours, I am going to have to kill them." Your breathing quickens as the possessiveness comes out in Zussman. This is side of him that you haven't seen and if he keeps talking like that you might just tear off both of your clothes to speed along this process. Zussman puts you down gently on a cot that looks to be in the very back of the house. His kisses continue going lower and lower making their way to your collarbone and stopping at your bra. Zussman looks up at you looking offended."This is in my way, Princess. So do you mind if I rip it in half?" You try to get control of your breathing as you sound like you ran a marathon to answer his question. When you finally do get control of your breathing it's too late to answer his question because he has already ripped it in half.
"Zussman, that was the only one I brought here with me." He smiles as he sees you pout your lips.
"I think you should thank me, Princess. That contraption was too tight anyway. Plus, I will buy you as many as you want, but for right now I just want to see you comfortable and be able to breathe." You couldn't argue with him, because he was right that bra was uncomfortable, and you didn't see any use of keeping it on. When moves the straps off of your arms he starts taking your uniform off to see more of you. Once he takes off your uniform, he just stares at you. Starting to feel self-conscious you try to cover up when he stops you. "Don't hide from me, Princess. Didn't you hear what I said earlier? You are by far the prettiest girl I have ever seen. That statement was true back in the dining room and it's still true now. You have nothing to be ashamed of, my love." He moves your hands off your breast as he kisses you. His tongue tracing your lips until you let him in. Both of you fight for dominance as he messages one of your breasts as the other hand goes to unzip your skirt. Once he removes your skirt completely all is left is your underwear and his pants. You reach for his belt when he nips at your lips then sucking on them to soothe them. You can't help but let out a moan as he tries distracting you from trying to take care of him. His lips make their way back down your throat and back down your chest. Stopping to take a one of your breasts into his mouth. You can't help but claw at his back as he tortures you with his mouth. When he's done, he does the same to the other one giving them the same treatment. His hands explore every part on your body as he continues to suck on your breast. His hands dip to your waist, slowly pulling down your panties until they are off of you. His hand comes to hold yours as the other one goes to take off his belt. His thumb rubs circles on your palm as his mouth continues to lick and suck your patience away.
"Zussman, please." He finishes taking off his pants as his lips leave your breast and captures yours in a hungry kiss. His hand is still in yours as the other one starts to make its way to the throbbing in-between your legs. His fingers slide in and out of you making you tighten around his fingers.
"Shit, Princess. I need you to stop squeezing my fingers or I won't be able to control myself. If you keep doing that, I might just fill you up with my babies. I would love to see your belly swell up with my kid." He groans that in your ear, nibbling on your lobe. You feel so close to release and start trying to move your hips to match the speed of his fingers. When he pulls his fingers out of you; you go to protest when he puts the fingers that were just in you on your bottom lip. His fingers traces your lips then once he's satisfied, he licks your lips clean. He groans as he tastes you on your lips. "I don't think I can wait until marriage to fill you up with my babies, Princess. I think I might do that right now." His gravelly voices vibrates against your skin making you hum in the sensation. "Which one do want to happen first, Princess? To be filled with our kid or to be married first?" He takes a strand of hair that has fallen in your face and looks at. Like he's pondering what your kids will look like. His eyes shine with love and affection as he looks back at you. He takes your hand that is clasped in his and kisses each knuckle you think about your answer.
"I want to be the mother of your kid first, Robert Zussman. Then we can get married." You see his eyes glaze over in lust. You can see the war in his mind as he says,
"People will talk. A baby out of wedlock is a big gossip if word gets out." You nod your head and then take his hand and kiss each knuckle, copying what he did to you. You feel like your heart might explode with happiness.
"Yes, but who cares. I will have you and your baby and that's all I need." He cups your face in his hands and kisses your lips gently. It's like this new thing openned up between you two. It's like this new type of rawness and emotion that makes this moment more special. "Y/n Zussman has a good ring to it don't you think?" He bites your shoulder as a loud groan makes its way out of his mouth. His hand that isn't in yours goes inbetween you two. He pumps himself a couple times as his lips go to kiss your nose, your eyes, anywhere he can find he leaves little chaste kisses. He lays you down further on the cot and crawls ontop of you, linning himself with your entrance. He pauses before he does anything. He looks you in your eyes and asks,
"Are you sure you want this? I mean everything I say right now, y/n. I want to be your husband and I want you to be my wife. I want us to have as many children as you want. I want a life with you, y/n. If you don't want that then I need you to tell me what you really want." You touch his face and trace his nose and lips. Admiring what you have waited so long to have.
"Robert Zussman, I want everything with you. I want to have a family with you. I want to be your wife. I am not going to leave you ever again unless you come with me. That is if you want to." He smothers you in kisses until you giggle like a little schoolgirl.
"I would follow you to the ends of the earth, my love." He kisses you as he slowly enters you. His rythm starts off slow until you wrap your legs around him more tightly, making him hit a deeper angle. You bite his shoulder to keep from screaming as you feel how big he is. He pulls your mouth off of his shoulder and whispers,
"Don't hide those pretty sounds from me, Princess. Let the whole camp know who you belong to. Let them know who makes you feel this way." You bite your lip so hard you taste blood until you feel Zussman's tongue sucking your lips soothing your bitten lip like he did earlier. HIs pace starts to quicken as you both feel closer to release. "Princess, I want us to release at the same time, ok?" You nod your head unable to form words. You both are so close that you start to see stars as Zussman starts thrusting faster. His lips are back on yours as you both muffle each other's moans. You both fall off of the edge and start to come down from the high, feeling Zussman coat your walls as he stays inside of you as he collapses on you. Holding himself by his arms as he tries not to smother you. Once you two are able to breathe normally your hands wind their way into his soft, mud caked hair. You feel hot and sweaty but you could careless about that right now as you have not stopped smiling. Zussman lifts his head off of your chest and looks at you with a big smile on his lips that probably mirrored yours.
"I have something to give you." Zussman says as he reaches into the nightstand next to his cot, pulling out a small velvet box. He pulls you onto his lap as he looks at you with love and adoration. "I have been waiting for this moment ever since we were kids, y/n. Ever since I saw you and talked to you, I realized that you would be the one for me." Your heart stops as he lifts up the top of the velvet box revealing a single diamond ring along with a wedding band. "I won this one day playing five finger fillet. This guy had bet me I couldn't do it five times in five seconds, and, well he lost but he was good sport about it. Apparently, this ring was blessed so that whoever has it will have a happy marriage. I know this isn't a fancy proposal-" You cut him off by kissing as you start getting tears in your eyes. After you pull away he asks, "I'm guessing that's a yes?" You nod your head.
"Of course, it's a yes, Zussman!" Takes your hand and slides the rings on your finger. He kisses you again, making you feel like your heart might actually explode. When he lays you back down on the cot, he looks at you with happiness and a playful look in his eyes.
"So, Mrs. Zussman, are you ready for round two?" You put your finger on your chin, pretending to think about it.
"I think I am, Mr. Zussman."

At The River’s Edge || Robert Zussman X Reader
**Warning! Implied self-harm!**
(Request from Wattpad)
(1784 Words)
Tumblr media
Location: Hürtgen Forest
Her hands dipped in the river’s shore, the girl was kneeling down as she forcibly scrubbed her grubby hands in the misty water. Groaning in annoyance, she scratched and rubbed her palms even harder, beginning to believe that the stubborn blood and dirt etched into the creases of her hands had absorbed well into her very being.
Sinking her hands into the murky river once more, she huffed, watching dew drops of water fall from her fingertips before she wiped her hands dry on her army jacket. She sat back cross-legged, hunched over slightly, tucking stray locks of hair from her face. Her body ached tremendously with every move she made, feeling utterly bruised all over.
Nightfall settled long ago. Beams of moonlight illuminated the woodlands with its ashy glow, weaving its way between the wilted branches of the towering forest trees. She found herself looking over the scenery, thinking of how the nature used to thrive with life and bold colour. Only now a dull and daunting atmosphere surrounded the land, as the forest life crumbled and withered away under the pressure of warfare that had swept through.
She turned her head up to the starry sky, noticing how the moon’s heavenly glow was partially smudged by the light clouds that rolled over. The moment would have been so tranquil, if it wasn’t for the distant sound of gunfire, echoing bombs that shook the ground like an earthquake, and occasionally an orderly formation of fighter planes soaring by. The girl had only grown accustomed to such a chaotic world; not even a flinch when the bombs fell like rain.
Their last mission had surely been tough for all, with many not seeing the objective through to the end. It all began to daunt on her while she sat and pondered by the shore. The realisation of how she’s only straying farther from home, although, with the unrelenting bombings, she was unsure as to whether it remained standing in one piece. Facing hell around almost over corner, and witnessing fellow troops lose their lives, and fall right before her very eyes. Throughout it all, even the worst of it, she had to remain stone-faced.
Like usual when she found herself alone, the girl allowed herself to be consumed by her thoughts. Her gaze blank, as her eyes drooped in her exhausted state, utterly void of emotion as they reflected nothing but a pool of emptiness. Absentmindedly she remained staring into the distance, the soft, calm flow of water at the river’s edge ringing in one ear and straight out the other, barely audible over her intrusive thoughts.
As though her actions were being guided by an almighty invisible force, the girl felt her hand creeping towards the combat knife she kept securely in a holster on her thigh, unsheathing the blade at a dramatically slow pace. While her jacket sleeves remained rolled up, for the evening was mild, her eyes diverted to her bare forearms, unnerving images plaguing her mind.
For a moment she twirled the knife in her hand, noticing how battle-scarred the blade was as the moonlight shined upon her. She pinched the blade at its base and ran her fingers along it to the tip, a smear of crimson now tinting her fingertips. Briskly moving the blade to her forearm, she pressed its razor-sharp edge against her skin, the needle-like tip puncturing her skin. Abruptly she pushed hard enough to make her wince, restraining a hiss of pain as a sleek stream of blood began to flow down her arm.
She drew in a deep breath and tilted her head back, letting her eyes flutter shut as she exhaled loudly, gradually becoming numb to the prodding of her knife; utterly lost in her own mind.
“I don’t think Pierson will be too happy if he finds you’ve been sneaking off.”
A familiar voice commented from behind the girl, startling her enough to make her launch the knife from her hand, only for it to smack a heap of stones by the river’s edge with an ear-splitting clash.
She whipped around, her windswept hair flowing about her as she turned, only to see her closest friend standing a small distance from her with his hands shoved into the pockets of his army jacket.
Zussman...
The silvery glow of moonlight reflected off the river, lighting the area with a cold hue. She observed him as he cautiously made his way towards her, a harsh chalky sound of stones grinding under his boots. He came to sit beside her with a tired huff, his knees bent as he propped himself up with his elbows.
“You’ve been out here on your own for a while now.” His voice was low and gentle, that hint of concern so clear in his tone.
As Zussman spoke, his gaze remained fixated on his surroundings, undoubtedly vigilant and wary of any potential threats. Zussman suddenly turned his attention to her when she stayed silent, noticing that she kept her head bowed.
Following her gaze, Zussman caught a glimpse of the weeping gash on her arm. He felt his heart speed up immediately, tentatively taking her hand in his own to look over the wound under the faint light. His eyes flicked to hers, startled when he noticed the girl staring back at him woefully.
His gentle touch disappeared when he began patting the pockets of his jacket, evidently searching for something. The girl watched Zussman for a moment, taking notice of how he glanced at the gash numerous times all the while digging through his pockets quickly. He perked up once he found something particular.
“Ain’t it a miracle that I’ve got this.” He spoke, pulling a small roll of bandage into the light.
Without a word Zussman held out a hand, eyeing the girl pitifully as she merely allowed him to tend to her wound without protest. His caress was undeniably comforting; so feather-light that in the moment she believed he was gifted with an angels touch. She observed his every motion, savouring the feeling of his calloused, battle-scarred hands against her skin. She only hoped he hadn’t seen how she stared at him with glistening, starry eyes.
He had wrapped the wound with such loving care, and for a moment she couldn’t refrain from admiring his work. She turned her arm to see the bandage dressed so neatly, pressing her thumb to the tiny dot of blood that seeped through the gauze. While distracted momentarily, she never saw the flash of admiration that out-shined the tiredness in his eyes.
“Don’t worry, I won’t ask for an explanation.” He grasped her hand, looking to her bandaged arm. “And that’ll heal in no time.”
Taking the girl by surprise, Zussman intertwined his fingers with hers. He appeared apprehensive at first, expecting the girl to pull herself away from him, but he smiled warmly when she relaxed and shuffled closer to him.
“Thank you.” She spoke quietly, briefly locking gazes.
Zussman acknowledged her while he stared absentmindedly into the distance, giving her hand a gentle squeeze in response, the simple gesture being greatly reassuring.
“And I’m sorry... I don’t know what came over me.” She mumbled, turning her head to the ground.
Turning to face her, now giving her his full attention, Zussman softly caressed the back of her hand with his thumb, the touch ever so soothing. His compassionate side was striking, compared to his typical cocky and suave demeanour, it was certainly rare to see.
“It’s alright.” He told. “I’m here for you.”
She perked up, meeting his gaze. Under the pale moonlight she could clearly see the loving, almost dreamy, glint to eyes. Her heart began to flutter rapidly when she saw him nervously leaning towards her, noticing how he glanced anxiously from her eyes, to her lips all the while. She reciprocated, secretly wanting to feel some comfort and serenity merely by kissing him.
So delicately, his lips met hers. Considering the chilly air surrounding them, the girl was surprised that his lips were so warm and soft. Her eyes fluttered shut, as his own, while she gingerly wrapped her arms around his neck, finding his gentle kisses to be ever so calming for her restless mind.
Zussman’s hand found it’s way to her hair, small locks snaking around his fingers. She smiled softly between little smooches, emitting a small hum of content. They soon pulled away, almost in slow-motion, drawing in little breaths. The girl grinned after seeing the awestruck gaze Zussman withheld.
She clung to Zussman lovingly, pulling him into a quick hug and barely giving him time to respond before she pulled away.
“Well,” She sat back with a sigh, her eyes averting to her surroundings. “I don’t think we should settle here for too long.”
When the girl turned back to him, she giggled softly when he seemed to snap himself out of his awed daze.
“Oh yeah, right...” His eyes flicked about the area briefly before he rose to his feet.
Zussman offered her a hand, to which she gladly accepted, soon coming to stand beside him. Realisation struck her when she caught sight of her combat knife still lying by the river’s edge, and she warily trekked across the uneven stones to retrieve it and place it back in its holster.
She took one last, longing look over the calm river, before glancing over her shoulder to see Zussman waiting patiently for her with his hands in his pockets yet again.
“Come on.” He called, with a lazy smile on his face. “We stay out here any longer the guys are gonna start getting ideas.”
The girl laughed lightly and made her way back to Zussman. She stood before him, only to be scooped up in a surprising hug. Instinctively she placed her hands atop his shoulders, almost bracing herself, but she relaxed as his arms wrapped around her waist tightly, holding her protectively, yet so lovingly.
Zussman caught a glimpse of her bandaged arm out of the corner of his eye, the girl noticing it too, and he soon looked at her sympathetically.
“We got this, alright?” He reassured, smiling sincerely.
She nodded meekly in response, peering at him with a bleak, pleading stare. Zussman cupped her face gently to place a chaste kiss to her lips.
While his lips were mere inches from hers, she muttered, “Let’s get back to camp.”
Slipping out of the embrace, the girl instinctively grasped his hand, allowing Zussman to lead the way back to camp. Seeing a dusty-orange glow from a campfire in the distance, they headed towards it, with the girl latched to Zussman’s arm all the while.

The Private's Sergeant | Robert Zussman x gn!reader

Pierson had been annoying you relentlessly lately, and if you didn’t have Zussman at your side telling you not to do it, you would have made boots from his spleen almost a week ago; you and Pierson had never seen eye to eye, and he made it very clearly that he didn’t like you - but you also made it perfectly clear that the feeling was mutual.
Tempers were slowly dwindling, and everyone knew better than to stay in the same place when you and Pierson were around; but unlike him, you never took your temper out on the men. You made it clear that that, especially, was where your issue with him came from.
Zussman was your saving grace, though. He would drag you away when he could see you about to lose your temper, sit you down and get you to smoke his cigarette rations and talk it through until you were better; if no one else was around, he would kiss you and hold your hand, running his thumb across your knuckles.
You made it known early on in the relationship, you didn’t like public displays of affection. You hated it, couldn’t stand it. But you would accept Zussman’s affections in private, and although he wasn’t exactly keen on having to wait to so much as hold your hand, he didn’t mind it.
Pierson was, thankfully, indisposed of when the SOE came to camp, chatting to the… admittedly quite handsome Major and his beautiful second in command.
You were sitting next to Red at the fire as it brewed a small metal tin of coffee, leaned over slightly as you raised your brows; he had to practically grab you to stop you from falling over.
“Oi, Red,” you hummed. “D’you reckon Robbie would be down for adding a third?”
Red laughed, pulling you over as he rolled his eyes. “You’re insatiable.”
You shrugged, running a hand down your face and checking the coffee. “Can you blame me? Look at ‘em, they’re fucking gorgeous… nothing on Robbie, obviously, but… still.”
Zussman came back over, moving you aside for a moment before letting you sit between his legs. “You’re both quiet… what have you done?”
Red pointed over at the SOE agents. “Your Sergeant asked if you would add the British Agents into your relationship.”
Zussman didn’t even bother trying to bite back the laugh that came from the back of his throat. “I thought you settled for the handsome, American G.I.?”
You shrugged, looking up at him and grinning. “What? I was window shopping.”
He laughed, shaking his head fondly as he leaned over, getting a good look at the SOE agents before leaning back and humming. “Which one were you window shopping for?”
“Six o’clock,” you told him, pointing over to the Major.
A hum of approval left your boyfriend. “Yeah, I can see why…”
You nodded, leaning back slightly. It wasn’t unusual for soldiers to sit between one another’s legs; usually, if there wasn’t enough room to sit down, someone would always end up sitting between another’s legs. It was normal, more than anything, across the board.
“I doubt he’s as big as you, though,” you admitted softly, running your thumb across your bottom lip as you watched the way he walked towards the table.
Zussman bit back his grin as he looked over at Red and raised his brows smugly. “Hear that? Old Major ain’t as big as me.”
“I said I doubt it,” you pointed out playfully. “Don’t get cocky.”
“Good enough,” he chuckled, spreading his legs a little and letting you lean against his right leg slightly.
“He’s definitely not as thick, though,” you mused.
Zussman clenched his jaw a little, trying not to laugh as he watched the Major approach; nudging you slightly with his leg, Zussman made sure that you were sat upright as he did his best to bite back the giggle forming in the back of his throat.
All eyes on you as the Major cleared his throat.
“Sergeant?”
You nodded, lighting up one of Zussman’s cigarettes and taking a drag. “Turner send you over?”
“You weren’t at the debriefing,” the Major pointed out. “I thought all officers were supposed to be in attendance, that’s what Davies told me.”
You scoffed, shaking your head. “That old cunt doesn’t know shit… ask Turner, he’ll tell you I wasn’t there because I don’t give a shit. If information can’t be passed onto the men, I ain’t taking it, either.”
The Major nodded, smiling as he hummed softly. “Handsome and humble…”
Zussman caught the remark, and narrowed his eyes as he looked at the Major, clenching his jaw.
“So, erm, Major,” Red cleared his throat, standing up and offering his hand. “Why don’t I introduce you to the others?”
The Major nodded, shaking Red’s hand and then gesturing for him to show the way; the second they were out of earshot, you turned to Zussman, and grinned.
“Hear that?” You asked smugly. “He reckons I’m handsome.”
His jaw clenched as he glared at you. “I’m not saying you’re not, but…”
“But?”
“Why did he point it out?” He asked with a scoff, shaking his head. “Red doesn’t.”
You raised a brow, moving so that you were knelt facing him. “Stiles sometimes does… and Turner.”
“Yeah, but they know you,” he pointed out with a huff. “They’re our friends… he isn’t.”
“So, what?” You asked, tilting your head to the side. “You don’t trust me?”
Zussman shook his head. “I don’t trust him.”
You smiled, taking a quick look around before pulling yourself up onto his lap, your hands on his chest as you smiled. He was quick, grabbing you by the sides to keep you steady as he raised a brow, a little confused as to why you were being so bold, so public.
“I thought you hated PDA.”
“Well, seeing you so jealous…” you mused, trailing a hand down to his belt and tugging it softly. “I can’t ignore how hot it is…”
Zussman rolled his eyes. “Did you mean what you said earlier? About me being bigger than him?”
You nodded as you grinned, leaning down so that your lips were right next to his ear, your voice quiet and breath hot. “I know you’re definitely thicker… and no one could ever make me cum the way you do, Robbie. You know that.”
He swallowed thickly, biting back the urge to buck his hips up into you as a shaky breath left his lips. “Do you wanna go to… our spot?”
You licked your lips. “I would fucking love to.”

----------------------------------------
Part 1:
"Agent Falcon, welcome to the 1st Infantry Division. I hope you had a good flight in." Lieutenant Turner shakes your hand as you step out of the tank. You had to get on a plane, a boat, and now a tank for this mission. You were wondering if this mission was as dangerous as Crowley was making it seem. Crowley said that you were also going to have a partner, but failed to mention their name or what they look like. Your body tenses as you look around and see the abandoned little town that Turner and his crew set up in. You were told that this was the place where they saved a little girl. Far too young to fully understand why her home was being bombed or torn apart. This war was getting worse each day and now you have the chance to make the favor tip in your direction. Now that you are involved you can steal the German's special plans and end this war once and for all. "I do hope you excuse my soldiers in advance. You are probably the first woman they have seen in a long time. So, if any of them try anything-"
"I know what to do Lieutenant, I think that you have forgotten that I have been trained to kill if I have to. This mission was given to me for a purpose, and I intend on seeing it through without the distractions of your soldiers." Your German accent comes out a little harsher than you meant it to. You are so used to trying to conceal it, but sometimes whenever you get upset your accent comes out. You usually spoke in an English accent or an American one just to help people feel a little safer around you. Given the circumstances they have a right to be a little scared when they hear the German accent. Turner looks at you with confusion and tilts his head to one side. Clearly trying to decide if he should ask you if you work with the Germans or about the accent.
"You're German?" Your mouth tilts up one side into a hint of a smile.
"I am part German, yes. The other part is Jewish." He motions you forward as he nods his head to another man that has joined his side. He must be Sergeant Pierson. The one that screwed up and is now being watched like a baby.
"You and Zussman should get along just fine then." Zussman? You know that name sounds familiar, but you are sure there are probably a bunch of people with the name Zussman. Plus, the guy that you were thinking about is probably long gone by now. "Agent Falcon, this is Sergeant Pierson. He will also be overlooking this mission." Pierson doesn't acknowledge you as you look at him and tilt your head in hello. You're not surprised that he didn't return the greeting as you look back ahead. There are some men, like Pierson, that you have met that seem to think that women have no business doing this kind of work. That they should stay home and not worry their pretty little heads about war and politics, but there are also some men like Turner that doesn't like it but won't argue over the extra help. You brush off Pierson's frosty greeting and continue to walk through the crumbling town. "Here we are, Agent Falcon. This is where you will be staying with one of my soldiers called Zussman. Now, after you get acquainted with him, which I am sure will be no problem, you will need to come by my tent for a debriefing and news about the mission. Crowley wanted me to update you whenever he got information about the mission. Until then have fun with Zussman." You hear Pierson scoff and walk away as they dump you in front of a torn down house. Most of the walls are missing and the roof has completely been blasted off, but other than that it looks like it was once a cozy home. Some of the roof's bricks litter the floor as a dinner table is toppled over providing for cover when needed. Your eyes travel to the farthest corner away from you and see liquor bottles huddled together near a makeshift bed on the floor. You set your things down and walk over trying to see whatever this person that slept there was drinking. You had seen in your previous missions that the Germans will sometimes put poison in their liquor to try and trick unsuspecting soldiers into drinking it. Sometimes you could smell the poison other times it would just blend in with the alcohol. You had seen too many soldiers die from poison, and no one would know how they were dying from poison since the Germans were falling back until you went on a mission and found out what they were doing. That day your German accent came through for you. The only reason why the Germans were doing that was because it was their way of showing how much power they had. They were showing that they could still get to you from a distance without using guns, bombs, or tanks. This was just a simple thing that they did that no one thought twice about until it started killing off soldiers.
"You must be Agent Falcon." You get up quickly from your crouching position. When you turn around and face the southern voice that just spoke you see that the man has a friendly look on his face. His beard is starting to grow in from not shaving it and his blue eyes hold this innocence that you can't help but trust. His blue eyes crinkle in the corners when he smiles at you, holding his hand out to shake yours. "I'm Red Daniels. Nice to finally meet you." You smile at him as he looks behind you to see what you were looking at. "I see that you have found Zussman's liquor cabinet." His southern comes out when he says that, and you can't help but smile as you notice how much different it is from yours.
"Nice to finally meet you too, Red Daniels. You can just call me Falcon or Y/n. Do you know what is in these drinks that this Zussman was drinking?" His smile grows as he hears a hint of your German accent. You tried to tone it down a notch seeing that some of these soldiers don't need another reason to dislike you. He looks back at the liquor bottles then back at you.
"Can't say I do, ma'am. Isn't it just regular alcohol?" You shake your head and blow out a breath. You were a combat nurse for a while before you got tired of seeing people die because they thought that drinks in the enemy territory was harmless. That's when you became an agent. A spy to be hidden in plain sight without the Germans even knowing you were there, waiting and listening for any information. And with your German accent it was pretty easy to get them to trust you.
"These drinks could have poison in them. Where did you get them from? Did they have a weird smell to them? Were they already open when you found them?" Daniels holds up his hands in defense.
"I wasn't the one that opened them, ma'am. Those questions are going to have to be answered by-"
"Me." You hear a familiar accent float out of a familiar voice. You could have sworn that you have heard that voice before, but then again you meet a lot of people on these missions, and you knew sooner or later that the accents were going to start running together. You look at the man that starts walking up to stand next to Daniels, seeing a face that could fit anywhere in your memory, but you just don't know where. "You must be my new partner. I'm Robert Zussman. You must be Agent Falcon." Zussman comes to a stop next Daniels making the little light that the candles provide shine across his face. You know this man, but from where? "It's nice to put a face with a name. And I must say what a pretty face it is." You hear Daniels try smothering a laugh as Zussman has this big goofy smile on his face that makes butterflies in your stomach float around. His forest green eyes strike against yours as he steps closer to you. Some of his reddish-brown hair is covered in mud and part of it is plastered to the side of his head while the other part that isn't covered in mud hangs in front of his face. His facial hair matches his hair color, and it makes you wonder what it would feel like against your skin if you kissed him. You shake that thought out of your head as quickly as it came into it. Snapping back to reality you say,
"You may call me Falcon. Not Agent Falcon, seeing that you may get used to calling me Agent Falcon that you could do it on accident when we are on our mission. Which could lead to us exposing ourselves. Which could lead to us failing our mission and that is something I do not intend on doing." Zussman's eyebrows rise as he looks at Daniels then looks back at you.
"I didn't know you were all business, Falcon." He tilts his head to the side and looks you up and down. You were also pretty used to soldiers "checking" you out. It wasn't out of the norm and like Turner said you were probably the first woman that they had seen in a long time. "You look familiar, and you speak in a German accent that I swear I have heard before. I'm guessing that you were born in Germany, but you moved somewhere else and grew up there?" You feel your lips spread into a smile at your partner's analysis. His eyes wander away from yours and makes their way to your lips. "Where are you from, Falcon?" His eyes hold wonder in them along with curiosity. Maybe you two have seen each other before? But where? The only Zussman you remember is from your childhood and that would be like one in a million to find him here.
"I moved around a lot when I was younger, but when I was twelve my parents settled down in Illinois. Chicago to be exact and we stayed there for a while and then moved to Europe." His eyes light up with recognition.
"No way! Y/n l/n Falcon?" The memory of the little boy from across the street comes back to you. You look at Zussman with new eyes as you remember the little boy that would always make you laugh and picked you flowers whenever you saw him. He was your first crush and then your family moved away, leaving you brokenhearted and upset that you would never see the boy that gave you flowers and lifted your heart whenever you were sad. Before you have chance to say anything he grabs you and crushes you with a hug that sends shivers down your spine. You feel his hard muscles press against your curves making you wonder what they would feel like without, clothes separating them. What the hell was wrong with you? You cannot think about those things right now. Although, he is still as handsome as he was back then before you left Chicago at fifteen.
"I can't believe that you are actually here! It's been forever since I last saw you, and to be honest with you I thought I would never see you again!" Zussman noted the sadness in your voice as you said that last sentence. When you finally pull apart from each other you hear someone's voice clear. You don't pay that noise any mind though since you are too caught up in the way Zussman is looking at you right now. Making little goosebumps pop up all over your body. Your mind starts to go to very dangerous places when the same person clears their voice a little louder this time. You two both turn you heads and see that Daniels isn't alone anymore. Two other soldiers have joined the spectacle and is now waiting for one of you to say something. They must have come over to see what was happening and while you and Zussman were caught up doing whatever you two were doing, they must have snuck in. You try to distract yourself from feeling embarrassed and see that one soldier has bright red hair that has been dulled by the mud. And the other looks like he has black hair but that could also just be from the mud as well. All three soldiers have a look of astonishment and surprise on their faces as they take in the scene in front of them. The soldier with the red hair and what looks to be a broken camera in his hands speak firsts.
"Zussman, are you going to introduce us to your pretty friend?" You see Zussman out of the corner of your eye set his jaw before smiling back at you. The way that he looks at you makes the butterflies that were just starting to settle down kick back up again. You try and push out that fluttery feeling as you look away from Zussman. Sure, that is if you keep staring at him while he is looking at you like that you might pass out or you might do something worse like kiss him in front of all his soldier buddies. You see Daniels hide his smile under his hand as he sees that there is something between you and Zussman. You feel a blush creep up your neck as Zussman's eyes wander there next making the blush on your neck go a deeper shade of pink.
"Yes! Where are my manners? Daniels, Stiles, Aiello... This is my childhood friend. Y/n, these are probably the best men that you will ever meet. You've already met Daniels, but this is Stiles, and this is Aiello. But the only one that you really need to know is Daniels. Plus, he's the only one that is actually nice and friendly." Stiles takes a step towards Zussman, looking offended.
"Hey! I am a lot nicer than any of you guys, and if she needs to be warned about anyone here it's you, Zussman." Your mouth lifts up as you hear Zussman laugh that comment off and walks over to Stiles putting a hand on his shoulder before tackling him to the ground. "Watch the camera!" You hear Stiles yell at him and Zussman fight trying to get dominance over each other. Daniels and Aiello stalk closer to you as the three of you watch Zussman and Stiles roll around on the muddy floor like two kids. Aiello nudges you in the side as you start laughing with Daniels at the sight of Zussman mussing Stiles' hair.
"Hey, Zussman is probably one of the best soldiers we have here beside me and Daniels of course. But if you need some reassurance that you picked the right one... you did." You freeze as Aiello says that. Before you have a chance to clear up the situation between you and Zussman, Pierson comes into the abandoned building looking mad as hell. He takes in the scene happening around him with Zussman and Stiles on the floor. You, Daniels, Aiello standing around watching the whole thing unfold. When he is done analyzing Zussman and Stiles his attention snaps its way to Daniels who is standing at attention. Pierson makes his way over to Daniels, looking him in the eye as Daniels does the same.
"What the hell is going on here, Daniels?"
"Sir, we were just showing the new recruit around." Pierson nods his head looks over to you. Something about the way he's staring at you makes you puff out your chest and look him dead in the eye. Not backing down from this little staring contest that is happening between you two. You hear Zussman and Stiles get to their feet standing at attention just like everyone else but you. Just because Pierson is in charge of these men doesn't mean he's in charge of you.
"You were just showing the new recruit around, huh?" Daniels stays silent waiting for Pierson's rage to explode at any minute. You can feel the tension as much as you can feel the wind blowing through your hair.
"Sir, it wasn't Daniels fault. It was mine. I was the one that started the horse play." Everyone's eyes snap to Zussman. You see Zussman stand up straighter as Pierson walks over to him. The way Zussman is standing reminds you of the old diving board that you two would jump off of during the summers. You remember one time you had jumped off of it and had scraped your knee and when you got out of the water there was Zussman with Band-Aids to help patch you up. When you snap out of the memory you see Pierson and Zussman having a quiet conversation. Deciding that you need to step up and say something you try to redirect Pierson's focus.
"Sergeant Pierson, I was wondering if you could show me to Lieutenant Turner's tent? He said I needed to stop by for updates about the mission. He didn't tell me where his tent exactly was, and I would be honored if you could show me the way." He stays silent for a long time just staring at Zussman. You start to wonder if he heard you before he says to Zussman,
"You better watch yourself, Zussman. I would hate to see your girlfriend speak up for you every time you disobey an order." He jabs Zussman in the side, making Zussman exhale a quick breath. Your eyebrows furrow as Zussman tries to stand straight up. "You speak when I tell you to speak. Got it, soldier?" Zussman nods his head, trying to take deep breaths as sweat starts to gather on his forehead. Pierson turns to face you but not before he hits Zussman in the side harder this time. Zussman doubles over in pain making you instantly going by his side. You kneel beside him trying to help him when Pierson's hand clamps down on your arm. Pulling you up and quickly away from Zussman. You try to keep up with Pierson and look behind you one more time before you lose sight of Zussman. His fellow soldiers crowd around him but the only one he's looking at is you and the death grip that Pierson has on your arm. When you two get closer to the tent, you jerk your arm out of Pierson's grip and start walking on your own. You walk in front of him pissed off that he would hurt one of his soldiers like that. You don't know why Pierson has this stick up his ass but you have half a mind to pull it out and stab him with it. Maybe that will teach him to not act like an asshole. When you see Turner's tent ahead you feel Pierson push you into another one, turning you around so you can see his face.
"What the hell?"
"Listen, you might think that I have no control over you, but one letter to Crowley saying that you were making heart eyes towards one of my soldiers distracting him from his very important duty is all that it takes to get you kicked out of here. Do you understand me?" You knee him hitting where it will hurt the most. Pierson doubles over in pain making you smirk with satisfaction. You bend down to his ear.
"I hear you loud and clear, Sergeant. But I want you to hear me... if you ever do that to Zussman again, I will write a letter to your boss saying how history is repeating itself and that you are putting these soldiers' lives in danger just like last time. Do YOU understand ME?" Pierson nods making you light up with satisfaction. You walk out of the tent and make your way to Turner's. When you walk in you see an abundance of books and maps sprawled out on every surface. You see a cot in the corner with a nightstand next to it and on it are more books. You look towards the middle of the room and see a table made into a desk with Turner hunched over it. He doesn't seem to notice your presence, so you clear your throat getting his attention right away.
"Lieutenant Turner, you said you wanted to see me after I got acquainted with your soldiers?" Turner stands up and holds his hand out to sit down on the old wooden barrels that were probably once filled up with food. You feel your body start to get antsy as you realize that all you really want to do is get back to Zussman as quickly as possible. Turner sits down completely oblivious to your desperation.
"Agent Falcon, nice to see that you are familiar with the base. I hope you meeting my soldiers went as smoothly as it could have?" You smile.
"Yes, Lieutenant Turner. It went over very well I think." He nods his head and then his eyes snap to yours remembering something.
"I hope you meeting your partner for this mission also went good. I know it must be an exhausting day and dealing with Zussman probably made you even more tired." You nod your head smiling even more at the mention of Zussman.
"Actually, sir, Zussman and I know each other." Turner looks at you with confusion and a question in his eyes. "You see, he and I grew up together in Chicago. Right across the street from each other actually. We were best friends." Your mind wanders through the fond memories that you have imprinted in your mind.
"Well, I am glad that you two know each other in that circumstance. I was hoping that you two would get along and now hearing that you two were childhood best friends makes me put my worries to rest." He offers you a smile as he continues, "Anyway, I asked you here because Crowley asked me to update you about the mission. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, Agent Falcon, but this mission has been extended." You feel the blood slowly leave your face. Turner must see that and tries to distract you. "The good news is that it will only be two more months with us. I know this isn't ideal for you and I know you were expecting to leave us sooner, but if you do this for us then you get us in the lead. You could put this war to an end once and for all. And, hey, if you get tired of Zussman being your partner you can tell me because I will understand and I can get you another soldier to protect you on this mission, ok?" You shake your head even though everything around you just sounds like white noise. You go to take your leave when Turner says, "Do you need a minute to think things through, Agent Falcon? You look like you have just seen a ghost." You shake your head no and snap yourself out of this weird little out of body experience you are having right now.
"No, thank you though, Lieutenant Turner. I think I will just turn in for the night and will try to get in contact with Crowley in the morning." Turner just nods his head and lets you leave his tent. Before you have a moment to fully step out of his tent, though, you ask, "Did Zussman suffer any type of wound before I came here that you know about?" You were wondering if maybe that was what was going on with him. Maybe his wound is infected. Turner blows out a breath and nods his head.
"Yes, actually he did. He suffered a knife wound several weeks ago, but it should have been healed by now, why?" You shrug, trying to not alert him. There was no point in getting other people worried about it if you haven't even seen how bad the wound was. Once you get back to your sleeping quarters you will check on Zussman and make sure he's ok.
"No reason. Just making sure my partner is ok. Good night, Lieutenant Turner." You make your way out of his tent and back to Zussman. There are several things you need to do but for right now you need to make sure that Zussman is ok.
