Here is a well-cared-for beautifully formal 1898 Victorian in New Orleans. It has one slightly disturbing thing in one bedroom and some people in my home group are saying it's haunted. Anyway, it has 5bds, 4ba, & is $4.790M + $1,250mo. HOA fee.
Tumblr media
Can you imagine what a great gothic manor this would make? It's already got the gray stone. Could you picture the HOA going insane if you wanted to paint it black?
Tumblr media
The grand entrance. I suppose it could look creepy at night.
Tumblr media
This home is so formal, it doesn't look like anyone lives here. Look at this navy blue sitting room.
Tumblr media
An even more formal sitting room, but oddly, the chairs are small and look uncomfortable for sitting for any length of time.
Tumblr media
Beautiful fireplace.
Tumblr media
Very formal dining room with a lovely fireplace. I think I see a pull, so those are more than likely pocket doors to close off the dining room while the staff lays the table.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Even the kitchen is super formal. I like the brick features and copper hood.
Tumblr media
Beautiful sun porch thru sliding glass doors in the kitchen.
Tumblr media
Look at this. A fireplace on the landing.
Tumblr media
This is lovely- rounded railing on that landing, plus a view of an enclosed porch with a fountain.
Tumblr media
The main bd is large, octagonal, and has a fireplace right beside the bed.
Tumblr media
Remodeled bath. I suppose that you could put a shower curtain on that rod, if you wanted to.
Tumblr media
I thought this was a very pretty room until I noticed the man doll by the chair. It's weird. I have a feeling that he ain't leaving.
Tumblr media
Here's a nice room and maybe they're leaving the armoire.
Tumblr media
I don't know what that dark room to the right is, but this porch is pretty nice. And, it has a terrace, too.
Tumblr media
The attic is a cavernous space.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is the carriage house. Look at that round opening, what a great feature. It's currently empty. Maybe they told the tenants to move b/c the house is on the market.
Tumblr media
Just an empty space. It would make a good rental, though.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Even the grounds are formal.
Tumblr media
Wow, the community has a gatehouse.

Multinational conglomerate Unilever, the owner of some 400 brands, announced Tuesday it is spinning off its ice cream business — including major names like Ben & Jerry's, Breyers, Magnum, Popsicle and Klondike — after more than a century.
The consumer goods giant said the move was part of a growth strategy that would create a leaner business. At the same time, by shedding Ben & Jerry's, Unilever is ridding itself of a longtime headache.
Since its founding in 1978, Ben & Jerry's has been known for its left-leaning advocacy, and the Vermont-based ice cream maker was able to maintain an independent board of directors to continue its progressive activism even after it sold to Unilever in 2000.
But in recent years, the unique structure of the deal that allowed Ben & Jerry's to wade into controversial issues without interference has pulled Unilever into the fray, too.
The biggest lightening rod began in July 2021, when Ben & Jerry’s announced it would no longer sell its products to Israelis in the West Bank, which the company refers to as Occupied Palestinian Territory.
The move sparked outrage from both sides of the political aisle amid accusations that the company was boycotting Israel as part of the boycott, divest, sanctions (BDS) movement, which Ben & Jerry's denied. Israel threatened to take action against Unilever over the move, and U.S. lawmakers called on the Securities and Exchange Commission to launch a probe into the parent company.
Unilever — which has repeatedly distanced itself from Ben & Jerry's political takes and said it has never supported the BDS movement — sold the Ben & Jerry’s ice cream operations in Israel in June 2022 in an attempt to stem the controversy, but its subsidiary's activism has continued to tarnish the brand and drag Unilever with it.
Ben & Jerry's was also hit with its own boycott threat last year after the company angered some Americans on Independence Day with a post on Twitter (now X) that read, "This 4th of July, it's high time we recognize that the US exists on stolen Indigenous land and commit to returning it."
Several U.S. states have divested their public employee retirement funds from Unilever over Ben & Jerry's ending sales of its products in parts of Israel, including Arizona, Florida, Illinois, New Jersey, New York, Texas and most recently North Carolina.
North Carolina State Treasurer Dale Folwell, a Republican, told FOX Business in an interview earlier this year that it’s not likely Unilever anticipated allowing Ben & Jerry's to have its own board would lead to so many problems.
"I don’t know the people at Ben & Jerry’s. I respect their entrepreneurship. I think when they signed the contract, Ben & Jerry’s anticipated something like this," said Folwell, also a 2024 candidate for governor.
"Unilever didn’t anticipate anything like this," he continued. "Generally, when a parent tells a kid not to do something, they expect them to listen."

Ramble about Bravely Default's offensive spells and why they're bad and how Bravely Second made it amazing
first of all i'm gonna mention that i will default to BD for bravely default and BS for bravely second in this, BD2 isn't gonna be mentioned much if at all. I will also note that this is mostly stated for boss encounters since regular encounters are so easy it barely matters what you use, any sort of AoE spammed enough will clear the encounter, This will also talk about Hard mode being the played difficulty (normal and especially casual mode you can literally run whatever and it'll work) BD has probably the worst magic in any "final fantasy" style RPG i've ever played, it's very strong SUPER early on (aka once you get it) and no further than the first optional asterisk holder it's already becoming so weak comparitively to the sheer damage output that thief and its massive agility stat lets you do, this is partially because of bosses not having many elemental weaknesses to exploit and also because rods don't give magic attack via proficiency, a Brawler and a Black Mage will get the exact same amount of magic attack from the same rod which holds back magic starting late Florem or early Eisen. It's also held back by Spell Fencer taking away what COULD be its niche, having elemental variety to exploit any and all weaknesses if a boss DOES have them (mostly crystal bosses). By the time you get Hunter especially there's no longer much reason to use magic at all offensively thanks to hawkeye taking away the one issue physical attacks could have, that being the chance of missing or whiffing to many hits, doubly so once you get the strongest class in the game aka Ninja. Lastly the amount of JP needed as well as magical damage support being incredibly scarce as the game goes on compared to physical support (merchant's crit boost, quick, agility boosting equipment and ofc spellblade) just makes it an awful feel to use it compared to mowing down enemies with pyhsical damage. Then comes BS and your literal first asterisk you get is wizard with the glorious Spellcraft ability, Spellcraft lets you change your spells with different properties, need a priority spell that does 1.5x its original damage/heal? level 2 of the class which you reasonably get before the bella/cu fight where you really want those lightning darts, enemy magic defense too high? at level 4 you get spellcraft: hammer which deals PHYSICAL damage based on your magic attack, it can also crit for double damage, the same spellcraft level also gives you mist which keeps the spell on the side you cast it on for a few turns, this can be used with healing spells or even REVIVES, the next spellcraft tier includes wall, a counter that casts the spell after getting hit by a physical attack and blast which turns the spell used into an AoE and boosts the effect of it. So yeah Wizards give you a massive utility boost right out of the start with any caster you get… and it somehow also has the highest intelligence stat in the game + the now SCALING magic attack rods which lets you use magic offensively throughout the game… especially with the last spellcraft tier where you get spellcraft: Rain, changing the spell to be cast four times with no effect boost besides that.
This works with meteor and every hit does capped out damage and with the right setup you can do this 14 times per full brave turn, that is 56 capped damage hits which no boss in the game can survive. But it costs a ton of MP so unless there's a simple way to take care of that you really won't be able to spam it...
thankfully MP free in a pinch + ghost status turns these frail glass canons into a zero risk maximum reward team setup that obliterates the entire game and you can get that setup going at around 60% of the game being complete. Now how does physical stack up to that? well, magic is far easier to use in BS but physical builds have a lot of neat new tools too, fencer in particular is such a good class that it's worth using as a sortof hybrid tank and DPS or main DPS. thanks to spellcraft on Supportive magic like keeping up buffs every turn, immediately rebuffing someone with dart after they were just revived it doesn't really matter what kind of build you go for, hell use both magic and physical in the same team it's ABSOLUTELY viable in this game because Bravely Second is probably the most free "just go nuts it'll work somehow" class based RPG i've ever played and that's likely going to stay that way
On that note just to have it mentioned, BD2 also has good class balance as long as you ignore beast tamer and freelancer overshadowing the other classes as main jobs due to sheer stats, the game also has a good mix of phys and magic balance so it's another sorta "just use whatever lol" game, but not to the degree of BS

Legionella
There's been an outbreak in Sydney, NSW, Australia recently
ANd so triggers the review tonight.
There's 2 organisms to be aware of, one is the classic one associated with water reservoirs like air conditioners. this one is usually blamed for outbreaks. the other is less thought of, which is found in potting mix, so you might see this come up in avid gardeners (always wear masks)
Tumblr media
Legionella is a gram negative rod/bacilli, coming in a couple of different flavours or species. Whichever species is the causative agent, both can cause severe pneumonia, or Legionnaire's disease. So named as the "OG" known outbreak was at an American veterans' convention in the 1970s. Often seen with silver staining, so think legion think silver. Incubation time: 2-10 days.
They can also cause a milder version, which in the States is called Pontiac fever ("walking pneumonia"), which can feel flu like and rarely requires antibiotics, most won't necessarily present to hospital. So named as the index case was in Pontiac Michigan in the 60s. No particularly romantic story behind this. Incubation time of 1-3 days. Usually self resolving. Legionella pneumophila: found in water reservoirs like air conditioning cool towers etc. likes to contaminant stagnant water. Legionella longbeachae: what a great name. this one is found in potting mixes. So named as it was originally found in Long Beach California. Transmission is airborne --> inhalation of particles via airconditioners etc According to the CDC, <5% of those exposed to legionella while develop pathology (the rest will clear it).
Groups at increased risk of infection from Legionella: - pretty much the same as the at risk groups for severe COVID - immunocompromised or suppressed (on long term therapy/immunosuppression, diabetics, organ transplant recipients etc, HIV) - elderly (immune system not as optimal) - anyone with chronic lung disease like COPD or emphysema Investigation - as routine investigations for pneumonia, vital signs, examine findings, history (are you a gardener??), CXR, inflammatory markers, sputum culture and if you're a physician, you always end up requesting the urinary antigens which come back positive 50% of the time (even less if empirical antibiotics were started before these were sent off and they aren't positive for longbeachae - better to just give empirical therapy).
Treatment: Usual ABx for atypicals: doxycycline 100 mg BD for 7-10 days or azithromycin 500 mg for 3-7 daily. in severe Legionnaires' disease, extend azith to 7-10 days (no longer as it has a long intracellular half life).

My Analysis about Binan Koukou Transformation
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Do you remember magical girl? Being female and has superpowers from aging up to fighting baddies weren't a rarity in the genre today. But what if we gender swap them and make some parody about something?
That's where Binan Koukou comes in. Binan Koukou Chikyuu Boueibu (or "Boueibu" for official short name) is the series where the male quintet from Defense Club are forced to fight the monsters created by people with negative minds, and there's a villain trio (or duo in one case) that were responsible to this. If you watch Binan Koukou franchise until the end then you'll know how those teams will end up. And it's one of the anime series where All characters are boys! Even children are boys too! Whereas there's some characters mention girls on it, there's no single female shown in this Binan Koukou universe.
*cough* Well that aside, let's jump into the transformation part, shall we?
First off, are you familiar with Sailor Moon? For me, yes since it’s one of the anime I watch when I was young and it’s the first anime to have stock footage henshin. Unlike Sailor Moon, Binan Koukou has five members start transforming all at once in the first episode, so what will the staff do then? You’ll find out soon enough...
Protagonists
Tumblr media
First off, Battle Lovers from LOVE. The red one, Yumoto has to kiss the bracelet after saying ‘Love Making!’, and the scene goes of him naked, he then creates glazes and start forming his battle suit step-by-step, before introducing himself as Battle Lover Scarlet (those familiar with GoPri that aired on the same year will compare him with Cure Scarlet by name). Notice these scene one by one?
Tumblr media
How about the rest of the team? Just look at them, they just form a glaze to surround them, and burst off in full cloth, unlike Yumoto. Long story short, they make a similar case to Sailor Moon’s member. They even keep their hairstyle and even glasses for Atsushi/Epinard (green). The main point of this henshin is the dark-colored background turned lighter upon the completion and the colored naked bodies. Out of all the kissing scene, Ryuu/Vesta (pink) has the best one because of happy face and open eyes during kissing. Anyway, does these scenes remind you of Sailor Mercury’s transformation? Yep, because they’re showing back by the revealing the clothes instantly.
Now you understand? Then let’s move onward to the second season of the first series.
Tumblr media
Even with less step, Yumoto still show that he’s the only one with step-by-step henshin. Now with expression to put the cherry on top. The henshin was completed with the formation of the ribbon.
Tumblr media
The rest of the team are still shortened and it’s not even good. They surround themselves with the glaze in different way and without any revealing sound, they appear in full cloth. The main point of the henshin is the colored line of their naked bodies and the sparkles in kissing scene, which has different fist pose before kissing. They keep both henshin sequences from here and the first series in the OVA.
Now we'll move on to the second team: Karurusu Knights from HAPPY KISS. Given the same studio that animate the previous season, they kept the traits of: theme color lined nude body, and the activeness. But this one has a weird start.
Tumblr media
(unlike previous seasons, these transformations from HAPPY KISS were darkened a LOT, so most pictures are corrected by me. I know that the BD version will fix this, but I can’t find the torrent anywhere...)
The mascot transforms into human and lands to create a wide water barrier. Then the user enters the barrier without getting wet and the mascot reveals a symbol on his hand to be kissed by the user, with no incantation! Although not pictured, there are 5-colored rays of light surrounding Kyotaro/Fiore before activating his transformation.
Tumblr media
And in the stock footage, the red leader, Kyotaro, appear naked alone and perform magic by the rod to form the suit step-by-step, starting with right boots. I kind of not liking the one with short shorts because only showing navel at first, and a rising shoulders before summoning gloves. Like Yumoto, Kyotaro completed his henshin by forming a ribbon.
Tumblr media
The rest have almost the worst shortened henshin. With similar method (minus the rays of light). They spin their rod (except Ichiro/Spazio [pink]) and encase their naked body in ice shaped in respective theme and quickly breaks. As the scene fades in, they’re fully clothed, keeping their hairstyle like Kyotaro and even glasses for Taishi/Neve (blue). Sailor Moon fans will notice they’re similar to Sailor Jupiter and Sailor Venus henshin from the first anime. Sailor Neptune and Sailor Pluto are also the same as the four from Happy Kiss, but without lip scene. Does Ichiro’s full cloth scene reminds you of Atsushi’s from the previous season?
In case of the name, I've been wondering upon watching it: since the series named HAPPY KISS, why they need to have ‘Kiss’ in their warrior name? (like Fiore Kiss, Stella Kiss, Luna Kiss, Neve Kiss and Spazio Kiss) But since they kiss the mascot’s hand, it makes sense, however at that time they felt unmatched for me at all.
Villains
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
How about the villains? Well, let’s see... for LOVE, there’s Caerula Adamas. For Kinshiro (Chevalier Orite) he scans his right leg and he’s done. The rest of the trio (Ibushi/Argent and Akoya/Perlite) aren’t even a sequence at all aside of roll call and pose.
Tumblr media
They’re pretty much the same in terms of the two version of their battle costume (S1's black and S2's white) so I’m not gonna say much, but Kinshiro’s pose with his ring in S2 are very badass at least.
Tumblr media
Season 2 introduces the singer duo Haruhiko/Salty Sol and Akihiko/Melty Luna from VEPPER. Where Sol handles the arm, Luna handles the leg. Then there’s split screen then another separate scene for them.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
HAPPY KISS introduces Edelstein with the same treatment as Caerula Adamas and Karurusu Knights because their mascot must be in human form to activate their battle form. Ata (Ritter Diamant) has the full body ping while Taiju/Rosenquarz and Masa/Amethyst aren’t even a sequence. But posing-wise they’re better than the previous trio, especially Masa/Amethyst.
Tumblr media
And their pose with the rings are cool too, and I especially love their transformation phrase. "Die Verwandlung!!"
Now can you realize the similarities? If you’re familiar with Sailor Moon then yes, the trio are alike Outer Senshi while Beppu siblings are alike Sailor Starlight. In my opinion, among all villain transformations in the franchise, Beppu brothers from S2 are the best one.
Others
Aside from those, there's some transformations where it occurs very short with just posing, though it's reasonable for a number of reasons.
Tumblr media
Battle Lovers are forced to de-age into kids that their battle outfit were oversized for them to wear. And the group roll call at the end is simple but cute.
Tumblr media
Karurusu Knights reversed this as they become grandpas! I can't imagine them actually transforming in that state, but I really like Taishi/Neve's pose here, it's so funny.
Tumblr media
Okay, guess I covered the entire thing from the series and let's end this session with ''Happy Powder!''
In conclusion, these two series has only the red leader performing like the regular transformation do, and the other four and almost all villains just do something to be instantly appear in full cloth afterwards, just like the rest of the member of Sailor Moon. While LOVE members can transform by their own, Happy Kiss requires their respective mascot in human form which it felt a bit like PriMagi (for beginning part, at least). I’m feeling the rest of the four’s transformation animation are just getting worse season by season, but the flow without worrying about it is still awesome, though. But give this franchise a pass if you want all members including the leader have longer step-by-step henshin because you might be disappointed if you watch Binan Koukou and even Sailor Moon’s transformations (because I'm a fan of step-by-step transformation and that's why the males from non-magical girl shows had one of the best transformation in my opinion). That’s enough analysis for now and I’ll see you in my next post!

Intermission: Those that should not love
Pairing: Coalesced by the Force (Cal Kestis x Shasta)
Summary: Jedis aren't supposed to have attachments, but surely what Shasta and Cal had did not count as an attachment, right?
Word count: 2.6k
Warning: Fluff without plot, it gets ansty, mutual pinning, forbidden feelings, Cal and Shasta are dense as fuck and at this point is everyone's problem, mentions of blood and injuries, SPOILERS FROM FALLEN ORDER Ending, by the time the sequel comes here this might not be Canon anymore but hey, and pretty bad description of droid speech.

Tumblr media
She gripped the quince rod on her hand before letting it land with a deadly blow onto the spot Cal had previously been, the wood clack made BD-1 jump. He had barely rolled to the side, since he waited for the blow with the saber she held on her dominant hand.
"Not fair, Shasta." He chuckled. "This exclusively to get you used to that fancy hilt."
"I like my rod better." She said tilting her head to the side, before she came running towards him. He stood up in a puddle of mud, with a trooper she could have hoped to smack their feet and make them fall, Cal was better, insanely better. She ignited the saber, she had hoped for him to brace for the attack but jumped above her, his back facing her giving her time just to throw the rod at the back of his head, he turned, slashing the rod in two.
"That's how you wanna train?" He taunted, why did he smile like that? Why was he smiling? More importantly, why did his playful attitude make her nervous? And for a more pressing matter why was he coming towards her.
"Was that your best parry then?" She said blocking his orange blade with her purple one. BD-1 beeped excited. She knew he wasn't using his whole strength. "Or this feeble strike was your best plan?"
He laughed in an exhale as he pressed further. "Not working, little one." She felt herself giving into the pressure so she slid swiftly to the side. Why did he call her that? Last time he heard him calling her little one they were 13, no 11. Many Padawans were being chosen earlier with the pressing rise of violence on the field.
"Bracca?" She asked him, as she helped him to clean his quarters. It was weird to see him part after all. "How long?"
"I don't know, Shasta." His braid swung with his movements. "Don't miss me too much, little one." He opened his arms, and they embraced each other tightly.
"Do me a favor and stop growing, Cal."
He remembered sparring with her all too well, and this session was just an excuse for them to be away from the crowded Mantis. Merrin had stayed back with Greez, and Cere had decided to sleep in for the day which left them free for training.
"Just parries?" He teased once more. What was wrong with him? "Where are your signature…?" She disappeared in front of his eyes. He felt the swift wind as her blade fell on him and he blocked the slash.
"Getting tired, sir?" He saw her chuckle and maybe not his body but his brain did crash for a second, he forced himself to blink. The mud splashed as she fell down to the ground, Bogano's sunlight rained down her messy curls to her soil stained wet clothes, as he rose to defend himself.
Sun hit directly to his body making his hair look brighter under the shimmering light, making his green eyes stand out like the droplets of water that rested on the grass around them. Around him a shade of color she could not describe shrouded him and the movements he was about to perform. She swiftly avoided and lunged at him, her feet twirling, jumping and sliding around him, she wasn't sure if it was him purposely making her perform the movements.
BD-1 kept silent as he watched them, not spar but engaged in what seemed more of a dance than actual combat.
Cal wasn't sure if he was leading or being led. He slashed and sometimes evaded or rolled away from her attacks. Normally he would see before hand some movement his enemies did, but this time it was like the buzz of the saber, the rustle of her clothes or the way her steps sounds let him predict her next move. In his mind also played a melodious sound, different to any song he heard on his headphones. The notes were clear like the sky above him, as if they were being played on glass reeds… it comforted him, making him take a step closer.
Shasta did not move back, she took a half step towards him. He was at arms reach, his orange blade drawn back, she could see half of the tattoo.
"Is that a Tattoo?" She asked after BD-1 jumped from his shoulders to her lap, they were soaked after an unexpected downpour fell on them. Kashyyyk's forest offered good cover for the impending rain, when it wasn't trying to kill them.
"Yeah, a requirement for the scrapers guild." He sighed sitting next to her. He took off his drenched poncho. "Made body identification easier." His eyes looked at it with sadness, she scooted closer to him resting her head on his shoulder and gently grabbing his forearm tracing the edges, he didn't pull back, he placed his head over hers.
"How was it?" She asked, they hadn't talked much about what happened after the Purge.
"Well…" His voice was calm, as he spoke. Maybe it was part of finally coming to terms of what had happened, or the fondness that he showed talking about his late friend, Prauf.
They had fallen asleep there. Shasta's hands still remembered his warmth, and now he was just at her reach. They moved tracing a circle on the floor. Cal lunged forward and she blocked him. Their blades sizzled on the point where they met. They were closer, Cal could easily make out the details on her face, he could see the sweat trails from her forehead, the way her almond skin seemed to glow. There was a breeze that traveled between them, making the song clearer on his head and the color more vibrant on her eyes.
His gaze connected with hers, and the world around him seemed to dissolve and he was fine with it.
"I had lost hope," He admitted as he bandaged her wound. "when I heard that the Order fell and they were chasing the survivors," his gloved hand caressed her calf.  "I am glad I was wrong." She smiled at him as she unfolded her legging.
"I am too, Cal," He sat next to her as the Mantis took flight from the battle arena. "but today I felt like I was on Agridorn… Again." Her eyes glazed with tears, she quickly rubbed them away.
"I get you." He huffed, they had intertwined their fingers. Cere had noticed but chose to not point it out.
Maybe their on train of thought had caused that but as they pushed, to try and subdue the other they had managed to push each other out, and send them rolling on the floor.
BD-1 jumped to check on Cal, he murmured an ow as he patted the back side of his head. It then ran to Shasta as she curled on her side, trying not to put her back against the floor.
The previously good day that was above them changed, the breeze they felt was a cold wind that carried a copious but gentle rain.
"I think we need to get somewhere dry." Shasta suggested when she rose to her feet walking up to help Cal up.
"Agreed" He winced but did not find blood on his hand.
"Then I'll help you with that." She scooped BD to her shoulders. They set foot to Eno's old bedroom, Merrin had been learning how to use the communications as of late.
"Do not die out there, Shasta" She sighed. "Check on his skull, I don't know if I'll be able to stand an undead Cal." Shasta snorted at the jab.
"Real funny Merrin." He answered.
"Do I sense sarcasm Cal?" Shasta had to bite her fist to not laugh.
"We'll be back when the rain stops." He changed the topic before sliding on the small opening between the doors. Shasta trailed behind him, still wary of the closeness between the walls. His hand caught hers and pulled her in, she did not tremble  as much as she used to on the narrow corridors.
BD-1 jumped from her shoulders to his, they were welcomed with the faintly lit room, and the warm air that the room had. Some of their things rested neatly on old crates, most being saber parts or materials or the few changes of clean clothes they owned.
"Sit," Shasta commanded. "First your head then resting." They had been training the whole morning and well past noon. It was nice to be back on tracks after Vader almost killed him. He sat on the edge of the bed, her weight fell behind him, her fingers threaded gently on his hair as she examined for his wound. The feeling was familiar even though it felt like a dream inside a dream.
"She was awake for almost the 24 hours you were out." Merrin told him as she toyed with one of his tools. "Your bond-"
"There is no bond Merrin." She and Cere had been mentioning it as if they were unaware of it. They had agreed that the first time they felt it was after the bunny incident, then during the infiltration to a separatist base that almost cost their lives, and as of late what had made them stay physically close to each other, something that brought comfort to them. At first, it seemed his body was responding to his earliest memories, but then he was actively enjoying the small brush of her fingers, the way her arms circled around his torso or the gentle pats she always did to his face. "And if there was, I- We shouldn't act on it, it's against the Code."
His face heated a little as she exhaled, her breath grazing his neck. "The good thing is that it only seems inflamed." Her fingers left his hair which almost made him pout and the realization made his cheeks flush, hiding his freckles, he breathed to calm himself and then turned to see her. Their faces close to each other, like they awaited for the other to lean in. This was too much like… Never mind.
"How do you feel?" He finally asked, there it was again the tug.
"Tired, but the nice kind of tired." She laughed. Why did he have to have such big eyes? She swallowed. It wasn't like her to shy away from people, especially to hide away from Cal. Cere shouldn't have mentioned the bond.
"It is a rare ability, even rarer than the talents you and Cal possess." Shasta tightened her glove to her left hand. "You both were drawn together by something that transcends the Order." She was stern, and that made Shasta turn to her, the Code forbade attachments; the fear of losing someone, the fear of losing the object of affection could bring even the best Jedis down to the dark side.
"Cal and I are close," She sighed. "But we don't share a bond beyond that."
The Force had drawn them together from the start, and every time they tried to reach for each other they had to remind themselves about it, the Code forbade this, not the Force bond, but what the bond had worked as a catalyst for, the Code forbade their kiss, the Code forbade their feelings, but how could it forbade something that the Force was actively pushing them to do. Her head rested over his chest, her arms around him. Both laying on the dirty clothes over the old bed, unaware of what the other thought, unaware that their minds was the constant reminder that the Code forbade their… Whatever it was. She moved up now her chin rested on his shoulder, her hand trailed to his face rubbing gentle circles with her thumb.
"You have a stubble." His lips stretched to a smile, he was getting too used to have the time to stand still with her, to  be on her arms on the quiet times when he slept after Merrin arrived, to the sound of her voice. Trust only in the Force, but he felt the connection at ease when he felt her close, even against his best judgment, who was him if not a Jedi Knight.
"I'll need to think of a way to get rid of it, " He chuckled. "or do you think I'll grow a beard like Master Kenobi's"
Shasta giggled. He turned to his side, she had closed her eyes, her hand never leaving his face. He moved closer, and carefully leaned in his head, Shasta moved the space that was between them. Cal closed his eyes for a moment relishing the silence and the sound of the rain falling above them.
This was nice, it was perfect. Still over her chest weighted the forsaken Code, trust only on the Force and your instincts, but both pulled her towards the ginger in front of her, the very same that held her by the waist, the very same that had taken an habit of playing with her right hand, the one that had made her heart run parsecs per hour when their connection with the Force was fully healed. She had healed but at the cost of her teachings?
Cal opened his eyes and their gaze locked and again the world seemed to dissolve, he just had to say the words, lean in again and seal her lips with his, he had to do something to ease the ache on his chest. He wanted to act on it but he was frozen, hell, even crossed his mind that she would be the one telling him that she understood him, that she liked him in the very same way he did.
"Something bothering you?" He whispered. "You have your thinking face."
"No," She lied. "Just enjoying the view." His face turned red.  "What about you?"
"Me? I could say the same."
His flush deepened as she pushed just a little harder. They looked at each other's eyes wondering if the other could hear their thoughts, maybe that would have made things easier, and just maybe could have put them at ease, but for now the gentle caress of their hands was enough. BD-1 chirped as it jumped into the bed, earning a laugh from the couple.
"Yes, you can rest with us BD" Cal said. The droid settled between the two. Earning a scratch behind his antenna from Shasta. Cal's eyes swelled with fondness, as they both got comfortable in this embrace. He inhaled, pleased by the warmth shared.
•••
"They aren't coming?" Asked Cere.
"They said they would return when the rain subsided." Answered Merrin.
"I tell you both, they are already together." Complained Greez as he served their meal. "The kid has always this stupid dreamy eyes whenever he looks at the lass, and she can't stop staring at him when they are on the same room." He sighed as he plopped on his seat.
"They are not together like that, yet." Cere sighed. "I think I scared them when I mentioned the bond."
"I thought that would help them." Mentioned Merrin as she munched down the roasted side dish.
"I think they got more apprehensive for a Code made by an Order that doesn't exist anymore." There was frustration in her tone. They kept eating silently.
"Wanna bet on who confesses who?" Cere could not believe her ears Greez had just asked that, they were talking about her… Oh whatever.
"Ten credits to Shasta, Cal is way too shy to do so." She rested her back on the seat.
"Make it 20 for Shasta, she has her way with words." Said Merrin, while she was annoyed with her in depth descriptions of the planets they visited… She couldn't help but admit they were on point.
"I put 25 for Cal, you both do not have enough faith in him." sentenced Greez. "He will find a way."
"They always manage to do so." Corrected Cere.

PBT Unraveled: Exploring Applications and Manufacturing Methods
Tumblr media
Polybutylene terephthalate, or PBT for short, might sound like a complex scientific mouthful. But behind this technical term lies a remarkable material with a wide range of applications in our everyday world.  Chemically similar to its more well-known cousin PET (used in plastic bottles), PBT boasts  impressive strength and crystalline structure. Today, we'll delve into the world of PBT, exploring its properties and the surprising places you might encounter this versatile material.
Introduction
Polybutylene terephthalate (PBT), a distinguished member of the polyester polymer family, has sparked considerable commercial interest owing to its remarkable versatility across a broad spectrum of applications. From automotive components to electrical and electronic devices, medical equipment, and beyond, PBT finds its place in an array of industries. Its extensive product range encompasses various grades tailored for injection molding, including reinforced, filled, impact-modified, and flame-retardant formulations. The unfilled PBT grades boast a diverse range of melt viscosities, offering ample processing flexibility in techniques like injection molding and extrusion. These techniques facilitate diverse applications, from crafting PBT fibers through melt-blowing to producing rods, slabs, fiber optic buffer tubes, and brake cable liners. Moreover, flame-retardant and lubricated versions of PBT are available in both filled and unfilled variants. Notably, glass-reinforced PBT grades exhibit enhanced mechanical properties compared to non-reinforced resins, showcasing significant increases in tensile, moduli, flexural, and compressive strengths, making them pivotal across numerous demanding applications.
PBT’s unique properties include:
Built to Last: PBT stands out for its dimensional stability and resistance to moisture. This makes it highly durable under heat and harsh chemicals.
Strength You Can Count On: Don't be fooled by its weight - PBT packs a punch. It boasts high strength, toughness, and stiffness, making it resistant to impact and deformation even at elevated temperatures.
Heat Doesn't Faze It: Bring on the heat! PBT has a high heat deflection temperature, meaning it can withstand both short bursts and long-term exposure to high temperatures without warping.
Electrical Champion: Looking for an insulator? Look no further! PBT offers excellent electrical resistance and dielectric strength, safeguarding electrical components from discharge and ensuring safe operation. The low dielectric loss makes it ideal for high-frequency electronics.
Chemical Fortress: Harsh chemicals are no match for PBT. It boasts resistance to a wide range of chemicals, from acids and solvents to oils and greases. Plus, it offers good UV and stain resistance, keeping things looking sharp.
Manufacturing Process
PBT is manufactured by polycondensation of terephthalic acid or dimethyl terephthalate with 1,4–butanediol using catalyst. The primary raw materials utilized in the production of PBT include 1,4-butanediol (BDO), dimethyl terephthalate (DMT), purified terephthalic acid (PTA), and catalysts.
In the PBT production process, a mixture comprising dimethyl terephthalate as the primary component of terephthalic acid alkyl ester and 1,4-butanediol (referred to as BD) as the main constituent glycol is blended in appropriate proportions within a mixing vessel.
A transesterification catalyst is introduced and conditioned in the mixture, which is then transferred to a transesterification reaction vessel via a pump, set to a predetermined reaction temperature.
During the transesterification reaction, two or three sequentially arranged stirring vessels equipped with stirring blades facilitate the process, leading to the formation of methanol as a by-product. Tetrahydrofuran (THF), resulting from the breakdown of methanol and also present with BD and water, is separated in a distillation tower. Subsequently, a polymerization catalyst is introduced, initiating the polymerization reaction stage. Initially, multiple vertical or horizontal stirring vessels are utilized for the prepolymerization phase, followed by a final polymerization step employing a horizontal stirring vessel.
In a continuous polycondensation process for materials like polyethylene terephthalate, operating within a relatively low viscosity range and under subatmospheric pressure. Oligomers with low polymerization degrees, resulting from esterification or transesterification reactions, are continuously supplied to one end of these reactors, allowing for the successive progression of the polycondensation reaction down to the downstream tray, or during the transfer of oligomers from one stirring vessel to another.
An apparatus designed for the continuous production of polybutylene terephthalate consists of a series of reactors: the first reactor facilitates the reaction between an aromatic dicarboxylic acid, primarily terephthalic acid or its derivative, and a glycol, mainly 1,4-butanediol. Subsequently, the oligomer undergoes polycondensation in the second reactor, generating a low polymerization product with an average degree of polymerization varying from 25 to 40. The third reactor further polycondenses the low polymerization product. Optionally, a fourth reactor is incorporated to further polycondense the polyester from the third reactor, achieving an average degree of polymerization of 150 to 200, thereby yielding a high molecular weight polyester characterized by superior heat stability and exceptional hydrolysis resistance. The first and second reactors operate without stirrers powered by an external source.
Within this apparatus, the second reactor takes the form of an approximately cylindrical vessel type, functioning as a flow reactor within a double cylinder structure. This reactor features an inner cylinder opening within the vessel and an inlet for the process solution at the lower part of the double cylinder structure. The process solution traverses through tubes of a shell and tube type heat exchanger positioned on the exterior of the inner cylinder, where it is heated to a predetermined temperature, then ascends to the level of the inner cylinder opening before descending through the inner cylinder. Throughout this process, the solution is stirred using a series of doughnut-type trays affixed to the inner wall of the outer cylinder. Additionally, the vessel includes an outlet for volatile matters and reaction by-products situated at its upper part. The inventors have identified areas for enhancement concerning the short pass and thermal decomposition reactions of the process solution.
Key PBT Technologies & Processes
Key licensors of PBT technology, such as Hitachi, Uhde Inventa-Fischer, and Lurgi Zimmer AG, offer a comprehensive range of process variations, covering both the DMT and PTA routes as well as batch and continuous processes. Various design configurations exist, ranging from a 5-Reactor (5-R) setup to a more compact 2-Reactor (2-R) arrangement. Recent advancements in technology, such as the Zimmer COMBI reactor, Uhde Inventa-Fischer ESPREE, and DISCAGE reactors, propose a 2-R design that integrates esterification and pre-polycondensation into a single reactor, thereby reducing overall investment costs.
Zimmer Poly Butylene Terephthalate (PBT) Process
The primary starting materials for producing PBT are purified terephthalic acid (PTA) and 1,4-butanediol (BDO). A standard manufacturing facility is comprised of several key sections: raw material handling, paste preparation, esterification, prepolycondensation, final polycondensation, and pelletizing.
BDO, combined with a catalyst, is consistently mixed and introduced into the paste preparation vessel alongside terephthalic acid and comonomers at specific molar ratios. During the subsequent esterification phase, PTA and BDO react to create the ester bis-hydroxybutylterephthalate (BHBT) and oligomers, while also releasing water/THF.
The resultant product progresses to prepolycondensation, where the reaction continues, then moves on to the polycondensation stage. Here, the reaction concludes by removing BDO, residual THF, and water.
The polymer melt is then transferred via polymer discharge pumps, possibly passing through a polymer filter, for chip production. In this phase, the polymer is granulated using an underwater pelletizer and cooling system, preparing it for subsequent drying and packaging.
Vapors generated during esterification are released and channeled into a process column for rectification. BDO, BHBT, and oligomers are recycled back into the esterification process, while water/THF is directed for THF recovery.
The byproduct THF, predominantly produced during esterification, can undergo purification for further utilization in an additional rectification unit (a 3-stage column system).

Can’t not watch Ch 5 lmao
I know why they staged it like they did bc it’s a show and like. Vibes. But the fact Din just stood on the other side of the plastic curtain like🧍‍♂️
I love that Din’s like “damn this sword’s kinda wild huh” after he cut that dude in half
Also extremely funny that he immediately got his ass kicked (and also kinda kicked his own ass) because like. What could be more quintessentially Din Djarin
The elevator fjdjfkvkdjsjfjskfjvjfbdjsks
I LOVE this extended single shot. A CHOICE. And the associated audio engineering is kind of incredible. I wonder how many times they had to start over with that tbh
“I’d put that on ice if I were you”
The Armorer not even flinching “tend to him” like this happens every other day with him lmfao
Paz 🥲
I find it interesting the way Din phrases that. “CAN lead Mandalore” rather than “leads” or “is Mand’alor”
Din: then he’ll get executed / the Armorer: yeah and our folk tales say the mythosaur would come back, but here we are.
I Still Think The Armorer Might Be Satine
I will say I don’t love that we got 99% of the way through season 1 with “secrecy is our safety” and “no one has spoken that name since I was a child” to, at the end of the s1 finale, the Armorer saying Din’s name, and then her saying Din’s and Paz’s name, to FENNEC saying his name, at which point it’s like. Everyone knows his name what the hell happened
Paz you big blue bastard
“Founder of House Vizsla” is that actually true . I guess in canon it could be, admittedly I was reading the legends wiki page recently so maybe I’m misremembering but aren’t there Vizslas that predate Tarre
Paz looking at his vibroblade he just cut in half on the saber dkfjdnfjdnfjdks
The Armorer is probably looking at Paz handling the saber even worse than Din did like “Jesus Christ none of you will ever be Mand’alor what the hell is going on here.”
The music behind him getting rid of all his weapons is PEAK fucking comedy
The rodian kid ekfjejfjdjdjsks 😭
BD 😭💖
“What is this, a democracy all the sudden?” Peli I literally love you so much
“Hey look everyone it’s Mando!” All the droids: …………this fuckin’ guy
“Why the hell would you do that? I coulda made good money off that thing. Opened a petting zoo.”
We stan a multilingual queen
Teamwork makes the dream work
Hearing them talk shop is so funny. And so good.
“Thanks little guy” the BD 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
“It fits” that’s what she said
“Watch your language around the customers” she says knowing full well Din doesn’t know binary
“Shouldn’t we run a diagnostic first” YOU worked on half this ship my dude 👀
Nothing like immediately getting pulled over by the space cops in your new hot rod
Love that we’re keeping up the trend of not talking to cops
✨WiZaRd✨ dork
Why did I not remember this episode was directed by Bryce Dallas Howard ??? She also killed it in Ch 4
