#i don't talk about glee very much anymore but i think a probably hot take i still have is that blaming rib/ryan specifically for everything #isn't really accurate at all? #like.... the first two seasons which are widely considered the best were solely written by them #s3 is pretty disliked on here and that's when they brought in more of a writing staff #and obv i'm not saying the first two seasons are perfect i have plenty of issues w them lol #but i think the criticism toward rib in particular is weird considering a lot of ryan eps are beloved #madonna laryngitis silly love songs original song new new york homecoming etc #ryan has written his fair share of duds imo but the writing on this show as a whole was real fucking strange #i have a lot of thoughts on the shift from satire to seriousness that really did a lot of damage maybe i'll write about them sometime lol
