It was a lie. The most obvious of ones. But just like any lie, intentional or not, it was designed to hurt.

"Except, perhaps, one," Aevum continued. "Bringing you with me. THAT might have been a mistake. Honestly! I thought you were smarter than this. But now we've got the COVEN on our tails! Humanoid Grimm! And my aura is broken! I cannot just portal us out of here!"

Aevum buried his head in his hands and screamed his frustration out.

"So, yes, Giada!" Aevum dared. "This is all your fault! We're on an alien planet with no way off and the locals pissed at us and it is all your fault! So if you have any more brilliant ideas I would love to listen!"

“I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but that’s kind of what I do.” The portal he had intended to leave through closed up behind him as Aevum turned to face the irate girl ready to lecture him. What a waste of aura... Hmm, was she irate? Perhaps distraught would be the more accurate word. Just because Giada was the one person that he understood the most, didn’t mean that he really got people.

“What does it matter? You know I’ll be back.” The traveler rolled his eyes, not even remotely taking this seriously. And why should he? Giada should be entirely used to this by now. She knows how this works. Actually...

Aevum paused, an understanding grin slowly dawning on his face. “...Ah, I see. You’re just upset that I’m not taking you with me this time.”
