[Do I feel the ground beneath my feetWhen I am lost in daylight dreaming?
You are confounding and coherent,My blood rushes yet I feel at peace.
You are my storm that carries me away,My field of serenity that lulls me to repose.
You hold me, unmoving, in your arms,Yet I have never felt so free.
Your presence, an infinite, dark voidYour eyes, glittering starlight,
Your kiss, sweet golden honey,Your breath, warm promise,
Your smile, a full silver moon,Pregnant with mystery and possibility.
I’ll stay, locked in our eternal embrace,And I’ll run and shout our love to the world.]

Five Surprisingly Effective Ways To Thailand Travel
Alternatively, brush up on your Thai cooking skills in one of the schools or organic farms to be found in this beautiful mountain retreat. Make sure you do some research and find one with the best practices and most emphasis on conservation. Get your very own elephant to bathe, feed and ride in one of the many sanctuaries located here. Take the overnight train to Chang Mai from Bangkok and find yourself amongst the tallest mountains in Thailand, perfect for a few days jungle trekking. There's also lots of trekking, waterfalls and other outdoor adventures. If you like birds, this is your place as it's noted for its wide variety. There's so much more Travel to Thailand (https://www.thailandtravel.co/) this giant province in the middle of Thailand's south, including the beautiful Khao Sok National Park. Most hotels or guesthouses can hook visitors up with a tour company. This province is known for its orchards and high-quality fruit, but if adventure's your thing, try white-water rafting on the Kaen Hin Phoeng River. Abutting Cambodia as well as the Gulf of Thailand, Chanthaburi province is a pretty serene place that's filled with fruit farms, making it a popular spot for agro-tourists. Yes, it's touristy, but it's also popular with locals and for good reason. However, forget all that and head to Mueang Boran (The Ancient City). This wee ocean-side province has a strong connection to Thailand's maritime history. Check out the 900-year-old ruins of Utthayan Mueang Kao Phichit, the remains of a once-great city. This nearly-round province north of Bangkok is another with a long and storied history. Check out Nam Nao National Park, which has hiking trails, caves, dense pine forests, chilly mountaintops, camp sites and tons of nature. A historically important province for the part it played in the rise and fall of several ancient kingdoms, Phetchabun today is a hot destination among Thai nature seekers. Kamphaeng Phet is another province with deep historical roots in Thai history, and plenty of ruins to show for it. Check out the Kamphaeng Phet Historical Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with several major ruins set amid dramatic jungle scenery. This small, flat little ink-blot of a province just north of Bangkok is covered with temples, but for something different check out Baan Phae village, where the locals make drums from cowhides and the soft wood of local trees. One of the top man-made attractions is Bhumibol Dam, which holds back the biggest lake in Thailand and is surrounded by parks, trails and waterfalls. The seat of a great kingdom that goes back dozens of centuries, Tak today is known for its cool, green mountains and scenery. But for a relaxing day out you could do worse than Bueng Phalan Chai, a large lake with plenty of green space, walking trails, shrines, statues and waterfalls. The people of Roi Et province know how to build monuments - the place is littered with them. Very few locals have even been to every province, while most international tourists only make it to a handful, with Chang Mai, Bangkok and Phuket being the biggest draws.

The kick and snare of contemporary jazz echo down the street inviting stray backpackers and local hipsters to take a seat and listen. The crowd spill out of the bar and onto the pavement, everyone hypnotised by the unexpectedly soulful voice of the young Thai singer in the corner with the band. Across the street is the historical wall that surrounds the city of Chiang Mai, and the moat beyond that. If you closed your eyes you could be in Berlin, New York or London, but with them open you’d see that you’re still in distinctly Thai surroundings.
Almost perfectly balancing the traditional and contemporary, Chiang Mai is the quaint, charming city in the mountainous region of Northern Thailand. Upon entering through one of the gates on each side of the historical centre, you’ll find tuktuks, temples, bicycles, boutique shops and eclectic restaurants. It’s a far cry from the hustle and bustle of Bangkok, though not without its own treasures.
The city offers a vibrant food and music scene; there is a large community of western immigrants settled in Chiang Mai, and due to their growing influence it’s easy to find some commodities from home: vegan, vegetarian, gluten free, Mediterranean tapas or Middle Eastern mezze etc. In some ways, Chiang Mai is more westernised than Bangkok, while still retaining it’s own distinctly Thai heritage and identity. Walking down the street you’ll still see saffron-clad monks and street food sellers, interspersed between hot yoga classes and Irish pubs. While a heavy western influence can usually threaten to dilute local culture, or lead to gentrification and drive out people with rising prices, Chiang Mai achieves a sense of harmony, it’s both culturally rich and contemporary.
There are a number of impressive temples within the city and surrounding areas, many of them built hundreds of years ago. Depending on how long you’re spending in Chiang Mai, here are some unmissable highlights of the city.
Temples:
Phra Singh Temple – Perhaps the most popular temple in Chiang Mai, and for good reason.
Wat Chedi Luang – The monumental stupa that towers over the courtyard is awe-inspiring.
Wat Chiang Man – Serene and peaceful temple.
  Attractions:
Tha Phae Gate – Impressive historical gate on the East side of the wall.
Night Bazaar – Exactly what you’d want from a night market, plenty to sample, eat and buy.
Sunday Walking Street Market – Weekly market takes over the streets: busy, sprawling and full of treats.
Food & Drink:
Ploen Rudee Night Market – Top place to eat, wide selection of world food stalls, great for mains, drinks & desserts.
Cherng Doi Roast Chicken – Authentic local cuisine, served tapas style, ideal for sharing.
Zoe in Yellow – Popular bar with great music and street-party vibe.
The North Gate Jazz Co-Op- Cosy atmosphere, cheap drinks, great music. P.S. Tried the infamous Durian fruit for the first (probably last) time. While extremely popular in the region, it’s an acquired taste. The only way I can describe the taste is: regurgitated vomit with onions and custard. Try at your own risk.

Evening Stroll
Chiang Mai – Contemporary meets Cultural The kick and snare of contemporary jazz echo down the street inviting stray backpackers and local hipsters to take a seat and listen.
