Shailung Eco-Village
Spread across 12 ropanis at an elevation of 2268m in Dolakha, we were requested by the visionary and inspiring Khem Lakai (Global Academy of Tourism and Hospitality Education) to design the Shailung Eco-Village project. Gastronomy, well-being and hospitality would be the core of this initiative in the natural beauty of the land, where Khem was born and raised.
An important starting point was the context of the landscape ranging from the Tama Koshi River to Shailung hillocks with fertile lands and advantageous microclimates producing a variety of crops. The larger vision comprises of several components, while we already commenced building the first two Rifugios.
Rifugio is the word the Italians, known for their great celebration of food and drinks, use for the cottages in the mountains, where one rests and recuperates after a day outdoors. The XL version comprises of a professional kitchen set-up plus two very comfortable bedrooms. International and Nepali master chefs will come here to demonstrate the latest cooking techniques and help guests understand ingredients better. This food haven is sure to tickle the taste buds.
One can also go for hikes along the friendly villages of this organic and healthy setting and enjoy panoramic view of Himalayas. On the natural alpine pastures, indoors or perhaps on the sunrise balcony, you can do exercises like Yoga and Pilates. Spiritual rejuvenation will also come through the deep sleep and meditation you can enjoy in the comfortable spaces on the upper floor of each Rifugio-XL.

Shamanism Trek | An Adventure Team Trek
Nepal is the nation having great historic importance. Nepal is the state of "Gurkhas". Nepal is the only independent country in the world. Although Gurkha soldiers lacked contemporary arms and ammunitions, they shielded Nepal's land from British colonization by showing their bravery and courage. Sailung, is a meeting point of nature and religion is another incentive of Dolakha. Thulo Shailung Shamanism Trek is described as one of the holy place for both Hinduism and Buddhism followers. Situated at the altitude of 3150m in between Dolakha and Ramechhap, Sailung is one of the best places to see a vast Himalayan range from Makalu to Dhaulagiri.
Tumblr media
Sailung Dada is another Hindu Pilgrimage site where hundreds and thousands of devotees visit on Janai Purnima, Balachaturdashi, and the Bara Barse Mela (carnival that occurs once in 12 years). In the occasion of Janai Purnima, on the full moon of July/August Tamang pilgrim’s crowd around the ruined Chortens at the highest point of Thulo Sailung.
Nepali men and women feel pleased to talk about their background. Three of the world heritage sites in Kathmandu valley; Kathmandu durbar square, Bhaktapur durbar square and Patan durbar square highlight the historic significance of Nepal. These durbars were built by the Malla Kings. History enthusiast tourists can visit these areas to understand more about the history. In Nepal vacationers can find out about the history related with Lichchhivi, Malla and Shah Dynasty. They're also able to see the historic monuments, inscriptions, etc.
Similarly, if we speak about land features of Nepal, Nepal is the only country having extreme topographic version ranging from 70 meter to 8848 meter in the sea level. Nepal has the world's highest peak Mt. Everest at an altitude of 8,848 meter from sea level. Similarly, Nepal has been dispersed into three ecological regions; Himalayan, Hilly and Terai. Himalayan region covers 20 percent of total land area, Hilly area covers 63% of the total land area, and 17% of the total land area is covered by Terai. Terai area is known as the granary of Nepal. According to census report of 2011, 73.9% of people are wholly relied upon agriculture. Though, 73.9percent percent Nepalese are fully dependent on agriculture only 28.7% of Nepal's land area is arable. Nepal has over 6000 rivers and tributaries. Nepal is the 2nd biggest country in terms of water resource.
Nepal is dependent on other countries mostly because its landlocked features. Nepal is a country which has been exporting raw materials and importing finished goods. Therefore, Nepal is bearing trade deficit since long time. Nepal is very rich country in terms of resources. However, the resources have not been used in its entire extent. Research have shown that Nepal has the potentiality to produce 83,000 Megawatt electricity in the fast-flowing rivers but unfortunately because of lack of enormous investment in this industry Nepal has been able to create only 1% of its total potential capacity. For a developed nation in the world, firstly Nepal shouldn't depend on other countries concerning hydropower.
