What is the Saskatchewan PNP program?
The Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) is a provincial nominee program that allows the province of Saskatchewan to nominate eligible candidates for Canadian permanent residency.
The SINP uses a points-based system to rank eligible candidates, similar to the federal Express Entry system. The SINP periodically conducts draws to invite candidates who meet the eligibility criteria and have a certain minimum score to apply for a provincial nomination.
During a SINP draw, candidates who have submitted an Expression of Interest (EOI) profile to the program and meet the criteria for one of the SINP streams, such as the International Skilled Worker category or the Saskatchewan Experience category, are invited to apply for a provincial nomination.
Get a free Canada assessment form
The minimum score required to be invited in a SINP draw can vary depending on the needs of the province and the number of candidates in the pool. Candidates who receive a provincial nomination through the SINP are awarded an additional 600 points toward their Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score in the federal Express Entry system, which greatly increases their chances of being selected to apply for permanent residency in Canada.
Why is the SINP cutoff high in Saskatchewan PNP draw?
The SINP (Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program) uses a points-based system to determine which applicants are invited to apply for provincial nomination. The cutoff score for each draw is determined based on the number of applications received, as well as the specific criteria being used to evaluate applicants.
The SINP may set a high cutoff score for certain draws if they receive a large number of applications or if they are targeting specific occupations or skill sets that are in high demand in the province. This is done to ensure that only the most qualified candidates are selected for provincial nomination and to help address the specific economic needs of the province.
It is important to note that the cutoff score for SINP draws can fluctuate from one draw to another, depending on the factors mentioned above. Therefore, it is advisable for potential applicants to regularly check the SINP website for updates on the program's requirements and selection criteria.
How to Increase SINP points
There are several ways to increase your SINP (Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program) points:
Improve your language proficiency: Language proficiency in English or French is a crucial factor in determining your SINP score. You can increase your score by taking language tests such as IELTS or CELPIP for English, or TEF or TCF for French and aim for a higher score. A higher language proficiency score will earn you more points.
Gain more work experience: Work experience in a skilled occupation is another important factor in the SINP points system. The more work experience you have in your occupation, the higher your SINP score will be. Try to gain more experience in your field of work to increase your score.
Complete additional education or training: Additional education or training in your occupation can also help you earn more SINP points. Consider taking other courses or obtaining a degree or diploma related to your field to increase your score.
Obtain a job offer: A valid job offer from a Saskatchewan employer can help you earn additional SINP points. Consider networking with potential employers in the province to increase your chances of getting a job offer.
Apply for the SINP streams with higher point allocations: Each SINP stream has different point allocations, and some streams offer higher points than others. Research the SINP streams that you are eligible for and select the one that offers the most points.
Remember that these are just a few ways to increase your SINP points. It is important to carefully review the SINP point system and eligibility criteria, and consider seeking the advice of an immigration professional to help you increase your chances of being nominated for immigration to Saskatchewan.
Saskatchewan PNP points calculator
The Saskatchewan PNP Points calculator is a tool that can help you determine your eligibility for the program and calculate your points based on several factors. However, it is important to note that the calculator is not an official tool and should only be used as a guide. The actual points you may receive could be different depending on the specific requirements and criteria set by the program.
To calculate your points, you will need to provide information on the following factors:
Age: Your age can earn you up to 12 points, with maximum points awarded to those between 22 to 34 years old.
Language proficiency: Your language proficiency in English or French can earn you up to 20 points. You will need to provide test results from an approved language test such as IELTS or CELPIP for English or TEF or TCF for French. And need to score CLB 8.
Education: Your level of education can earn you up to 23 points. You will need to provide documentation of your education, including degrees, diplomas, and certificates.
Work experience: Your work experience can earn you up to 15 points. You will need to provide documentation of your work experience, including letters of reference, job titles, and duties.
Connection to Saskatchewan: Your connection to Saskatchewan can earn you up to 30 points. This includes factors such as having a job offer in the province, having a family member in the province, or having completed previous studies in the province.
Once you have entered your information into the Saskatchewan PNP points calculator, it will provide you with an estimated score. However, it is important to note that this is not a guarantee of acceptance into the program and that the actual score required for acceptance may vary from one draw to another.
