#sio2 Funan

Recently purchased a Sio2 Funan from Julia on Den of Angels and now it’s time to customize!

This was him right out of the box:

Just a gorgeous doll, even blank. But, I intend for him to be one of my OCs, Cernun, a spring spirit. So he can’t remain blank.

At first I was intending to dye him, but then I realized I liked the more organic looking color variations that comes from doing a color change with pastels. So I thought I would do it that way instead. Though last time I did a pastel color change was on my Doll Chateau Pluto, and even then I only did her legs and tail. So I had never done a color change of this magnitude with pastels…

So let’s do a test area! I wasn’t 100% sold yet on the resin wig, so I decided to try blushing the wig first:

And I really loved how it turned out. So I did the antlers and started adding flowers and butterflies to really give that Spring Spirit vibe:

Which turned out super pretty when it was finished:

Then I moved on to his faceup, which I wanted to still have those floral/spring vibes, but be a bit more subtle since his hair and antlers were so extra:

I absolutely love how it turned out, and I made him some custom eyes to fit his vibe.

And I just…

Love him so much

So now I’m working on blushing his arms so I can avoid taking him apart completely for a little bit longer.

But I will update my progress as I go. 🥰

I saw some people are getting their SIO2 Funans (or rather theyre ready to be shipped) and its been about 5 months since preorder ended right?  I want my SIO2 kitty nowww ahah. I’ll be honest this is my longest wait for a doll in this hobby. Guess I was pretty spoiled for waiting times with Leeke and Resinsoul LOL On a related note, I think I remember someone saying that the civet cat was about 14cm tall but I was wondering if someone happens to know if thats with or without ears? It’d be cool if sylvanian families/ calico critters props worked for their size...

sio2 funan officially at new home safely as the last of my for sale dolls atm \(@^0^@)/ although i ultimately sold him i am glad i bought him because he would have become my white whale and i would always be thinking about how great he could be but in reality he didn't end up being quite what i wanted

some of you might have noticed that i let a few other dolls go as well and honestly it felt like such a relief

now i am thinking maybe i should let another one or two go 🤔 but these ones i am less sure of so they will get a makeover or two before i decide for sure...

in light of the other adorable centaur i have been thinking about Alico (excuse the mess i have been reorganizing my supplies)

maybe i should just double down on the pink? i don’t know anymore x.x he has another 5 wigs but this one is my favorite on him. i think it’s the straight cut bangs? the other ones are wispy

almost 1 can of msc later...

it kind of washed out on camera so i edited the photos a bit, my screen is pale so it might be too much on brighter screens idk

i finally sued him properly (via hot glue for bigger joints and silicone kips for the ankle joints) and he posses much more solid

i like the direction of the faceup but i think i need to re-do it neater x.x but later

also as cute as the pink wig is i think he needs a different one _(:3」∠)_

it’s a little depressing that one of the photos is just something i nicked off like ebay lol (i wouldn’t be able to really source it properly because basically any seller selling these uses the same photos...) only one real photo and it’s from years ago, i guess this new years resolution is: take nice pictures!

when i got Yuuto wigs i also got a whole bunch for Alico the spoiled brat who looks cute in everything ( 2 pink, white and "lime" which is more mint then anything) i am still trying to figure out his look TT__TT

i got him a wavy blonde wig but found out the hard way he needs straight hair, luckily it was heat resistant fiber and i was able to (mostly) straighten it 

i was thinking of getting him gray hair but now i am not so sure x.x dolls that look good in lots of styles are hard
