Dreaming up a fic where Luca flunks out of school and he gets massively depressed over it and is convinced there's no hope for a failure for him so he moves back home to his family and tries to force himself to accept life underseas but after a while of fruitless cheering-up attempts from Alberto, Massimo off-handedly asks Luca if he can take an old clock that's stopped to a repair shop in town and Luca is mesmerized by watching him repair it and helps him out (he's getting old and his hands are shaky) and eventually becomes his apprentice. And now to the important bit: sometimes Alberto and him go to the shop in the evening to tinker undisturbed and one time they're stuck on a project and Alberto figures out the solution and Luca is so elated and proud he kisses him for the first time

#that's actually not the important bit I just really like the thought of Luca failing school #and going thru an existential crisis over it #and finding something that's more suited to his unrestrained curiosity and enthusiasm #he can go anywhere! But I doubt school would become him #skypieposts

what if sirens were kinda like cats in that when having their face touched (by something Safe) they bump and nuzzle against it so sometimes when Luca is sleeping Alberto will just gently touch his face and Luca makes this adorably sleepy chirp and cuddles into his hand. one time he ended up trapping Alberto's hand under his cheek and his arm was trapped in a really awkward position as he was slept on for an hour but that doesn't stop him
