decided to fill a university req with an architecture class this semester just for the hell of it and every week we have to do a sketch of a building on campus which will be cool because i will be forced to practice drawing structures which is something i'm really not good at or comfortable with and it's also not cool because it's january and i just spent an hour sitting on a concrete slab outside sketching and i didn't even think to get a coffee first

#i know absolute dogshit about architecture #so i thought it would be fun to spice up my classes with something i'm a complete baby at #and it's already cool #professor seems like a wild dude and i've already learned a bit #got a new favorite architect in paul r williams who did a bunch of sweet like mid-century modern jetsons lookin stuff #which is one of my favorite styles #and having sketched one building i can already see why he's made that an assignment #bc to get any measure of accuracy in your drawing you do have to pay attention and notice things about how the building is constructed #so i was just sitting there on a storm drain in 40 degrees (fahrenheit) like 'oh these bricks line up perfectly with the windows everytime' #or noticing repeating patterns and such #i could also feel my brain really digging back into high school art class to remember ANYTHING about perspective with structures #personal
