Playing a rare(ish) instrument means it becomes literally your whole personality. If you hear a piece of music where your instrument gets a solo, you WILL let everybody in the immediate vicinity know, whether they want to or not.
fuego español by mark lortz performed by two of my school’s bands (it was a joint performance)
(for @gumidachi)
you can hear me! the parts where the low bits are really quiet and don’t sound like tuba and aren’t overpowered by the rest of the band are the parts where im pretty audible!
I love how whenever something vaguely ominous happens in Doctor Who there's a bass clarinet instrumental. I play it myself and it makes me smile without fail every time
You guys! I’m so excited that one of the pieces for my #operaproject is actually complete!!! (It pretty much just wrote itself, which is really rare for me.) And this tune has been so stuck in my head these past several days…it just won’t let me go! 🥰
I’ve adapted the 1851 speech #SojournerTruth gave to the Women’s Rights Convention in Ohio, and turned it into a sultry, snarky, #jazzy #solo for #alto with #piano #bass #violin #cello and #clarinet !!! (See one of my favorite lines from her speech on the second photo…) 😂
I want to sing a quick little demo recording of it soon… Can’t wait!
