I’m sorry there aren’t more options, I only had 10 spaces or I would’ve included more. I tried to go with the most common and obviously with groups!
What counts for singing is up to you. I think most people sing some amount, but you can decide if yours counts or not. The reason for this is because you can teach yourself an instrument, so not requiring lessons or anything for either instruments or singing.
If you want to learn an instrument, especially if you don’t currently play any, I would love to know if you shared!
Please reblog! I wanna know how many of us play instuments ourselves and what that distribution is.
If you don’t listen to the Mechanisms don’t respond to this poll! I’m sure your answer is very interesting, but it will skew the results!

I present to you a history of me playing instruments
11 yrs old- Joined middle school band, asked to play saxophone, was assigned French horn anyway. Kept stealing my then dates trumpet. I like playing trumpet, if I had one to practice I feel like I would be bomb at it. Tried to do the same thing with my friends flute, I can not play flute.
12 yrs old- Filled in glockenspiel for Christmas concert and practiced that for a few months before never touching it again. Found and fell in love with an ocarina, got good, then lost it. Fooled around with a harmonica I stole from a friend, I loved it a lot but that friend stole it back after the 367th round of "cotton eye joe". Begged Band directors to let me play sax.
13 yrs old- forcefully drafted into marching band and played mellophone. Hated it, but Its one of the instruments I'm the best at. Still begging to play other instruments.
14 yrs old- Joined Jazz band in High School Band and tried low brass but I CAN NOT play low brass so I was stuck on key board for a moment but then finally got to play alto sax, then was moved to tenor sax.
15 yrs old- Life went to shit no music, only chaos and tragedy.
16 yrs old- life still shit and made a make shit kalimba with the zipties on my tennis shoes in the mental hospital. Which they took away from me along with my humanity and will to live.
17 yrs old- Got an actual kalimba and loved it and I still do. Then got a ukulele. I love it but also hated that I couldn't really play my taste in music with it. Played "Riptide" by Vance Joy for a talent show, which I lost. Still I got props for it. I also practiced it so much that I almost fist fought my roommate. Got Electric guitar and was and is in love. I have never been able to sit down and play an instrument for hours on end for weeks in a row with out getting sick of it. Haven't expanded much since then, so yeah...
