Here she was in the Lavender Lounge, after another long afternoon and evening filming for tonight's show. With her work done for the day, she'd shed off the studio's image of her and replaced it with her own style and comforts.

The nice part was that she'd been coming here so long that her presence wasn't a novelty anymore. The regulars that came in the off hours, like herself, usually left her alone, save for the occasional gush over herself or a celebrity she'd had on recently. But usually, all she did here was enjoy the music, the drinks, and the people-watching, and that suited her just fine.

Vanessa spotted one of the regulars come in, someone who'd caught her eye on more than one occasion. Pretty, with stunning eyes, but she'd never actually spoken to them. So for now, like most nights, she'd just keep to herself, and finish her drink before she made her way home.

⦕☥⦖ She was making her way through the community when a familiar voice stopped her in her tracks. Emma looked over, spotting the hopefully former firefly at their gates, trying to talk his way in- and not having great luck with it. Whoever was at the gate right now- hadn't been one of them.

With quick steps, she went over and told them he was okay- that she knew him.

"Holy shit, Rio...it's been a while."

Nonetheless, Bailey stepped toward the small couch in the office and dropped on the cushion like deadweight, an admittedly over-dramatic sigh blown through pursed lips. She didn't want to be here and she was going to make sure they all knew it.

The girl gave a light shrug of her shoulders, ❝ You all look like assholes to me. ❞ He wasn't a Firefly soldier, but is he really any different? They're all strangers to her and she was here against her will. Could he blame her for being rash? ❝ I'm not buying the whole friendly act. ❞

Between being both the big-name interview and the musical act for the show, Vanessa wanted a moment to chat with the bands frontman, Skyler just to make sure they were on the same page before the interview. Of course, they'd met briefly before, but she always wanted her guests to feel safe on her show. That meant she needed to know what they felt comfortable answering and what was off-limits.

She was working in her office when her assistant brought Skyler to the open door. Vanessa stood up, her smile wide as she went to lead him in.

Her fingers lazily stroked through his hair, eyes settled on the darkness of the ceiling. She was lucky to have Sky, even if she felt like he’d had to give up his dreams for her. He wanted to be famous when they met, and he could’ve been. He was a great musician- but here he was…hiding with her and Julian.

"I'm going to try and get some sleep...okay?" It was mostly said to put him at ease, so he wasn't exhausted in the morning. Did she think sleep was possible? No- but, it was worth a shot.
