S T U D I O. L I F E I have been a bit quiet on Instagram recently. Studio life has been very busy. I have so many exciting projects coming up that I can’t quite tell you about just yet. But all will be revealed very soon. I have been working on some new paintings for an interior design brand. 8 paintings in total and I am currently halfway through. C H A N G E How do you feel about change? Are you someone who can embrace it and allow changes to happen with ease or are you like me, and struggle with change? “Blue Sky Thinking” was once blue. It’s now varying shades of (mostly) greens. When I first saw this change happen in this painting I was upset. It wasn’t as I had intended. I’ve had this painting sitting out in my studio, before I package it up to go to a new exhibition, and the more I see it the more I love its changes. As some of you may know I make my own paints. All of them, bar the copper acetate blues, are made using rocks and earth. This painting was made using a handmade copper acetate powder. It’s a long process and isn’t always successful. This one was, but it is the first time it has changed so drastically in my paintings. I have had so many lovely comments and feedback about the changes in this painting. It is lovely to hear.
