Made an mlb au when i haven't even watched the full show and only certain episodes and some of the specials . very non-sensical with many loosely connected thoughts rn
Text for marinette:
Crochets/Sews/Thrifts
Rather quiet/shy until interest is mentioned
So clumsy/unlucky that she over prepares/plans everything
when plans fail, stressed out and becomes more controlling as a result
insecure over relationships with people
Text for felix:
likes reading sappy romance novels (wants to be suave biker boy so bad but it's just his type not his inspo)
Chat noir is free reign weird girl era
thing that bites
super curious as chat noir
too curious.

bringing some of this out of previous tags, but something incoherent about the escalation of ‘dolls’ throughout the series, and the (obviously gendered) difference between ‘dolls’ and ‘puppets.’ including but not limited to:
john’s first forays into necromancy as puppeteering ‘Titania’ and ‘Ulysses,’ who are explicitly named as ‘extensions’ of john, which progress to the puppeteering of the world leader, which progresses to the apocalypse and john fashioning the parts of earth he doesn’t consume (alecto) a barbie-shaped vessel.
back in gideon the ninth, cytherea’s puppeting (explicitly called this, i believe) of protesilaus, to be contrasted with cytherea’s own doll-like position. both in her posturing as someone who needed to be carried, adjusted, coddled and in the broader uncanniness of pretending to be dulcinea septimus, of being a passable but undead ‘fake’ substitution of the living ‘real’ dulcinea.* all of the victorian energy also undeniably relevant. all of this progressing to cytherea’s body being a doll? a puppet? a weapon? for commander wake in harrow. the role she forced upon others and enacted being enacted on her own body in death.
rocking back up to nona, where images of dolls and puppets abound. though ianthe describes it as puppeting, naberius body is described, by others, in a way that’s much more suggestive of a barbie doll (“fashion hair” echoes the “hollywood hair barbie”). and naberius, furthermore, stands apart from the multitude of soldiers ianthe is also controlling from a distance. mixed with corona getting quite literally dolled up (hair refashioned, and ianthe’s fixation on the poor condition of corona’s hair, and put into a dress) once pulled back under ianthe’s control (to whatever degree we believe her to be). the doll as a particular extension of oneself, perhaps laced with intimacy? naberius as the conduit through which ianthe can (insufficiently) touch coronabeth; john’s romantic desire for annabel (and his occasional inability to sleep without her comforting him); even the fact that naberius becomes the vessel for palamedes and conduit through which he and camilla can become paul. (noting that camilla and palamedes sharing a body is framed outside of this language, possibly because camilla actively consents, for good or ill, to the process?)
(in dialogue with all of this, the way BOE encodes the lyctors as ancient weapons, and kiriona’s assertion that she is fulfilment of the nine house’s arts, stronger than titanium, faster than a speeding bullet: a weapon in the shape of a corpse, a prince, a girl. [to be a very dead weapon-body rather than a tragically alive one.] [also, as an aside, how her mother conceived of her: a bomb in the shape of a baby.] [also obviously related is that the out-of-house derogatory term for necromancers and cavaliers being, respectively, zombies and minions.])
i do not have a thesis statement, of course, but i think there is a clear development of a theme and some symbols and language that may be helpful to return to later or to unpick some of the various (and very gendered) ways agency is or is not present in necromancy.
* very known, but i think the fact that cytherea and dulcinea are both subjected to the same cancer-eugenics and arrive at a near indistinguishable state, that they are in some ways duplicates of each other, takes on a really compelling sheen in the wake of her comment that john, explicitly, is building a static society.

is "love will be the reason you are destroyed" / "love will be the reason you live" the main theme motif of the story
hmmmm........i think so, to both!!! at the same time!!! i think its less one or the other, but the power/consequences of love is definitely highlighted a lot...and sometimes it has its strengths (the dedication, perseverance, forgiveness, and loyalty that comes as a consequence), but also eventually will show the downsides (unwillingness to destroy that which you love, making bad/unthinkable/unforgiveable decisions to save someone you love, that kind of thing)
i dont think its eventually what saves them all in the end, i think its moreso like a wrench thrown into the works that mochi and the rest have to work around it/deal with the consequences in turn

okay weird q incoming but what ways do you think speedsters can get sick? Like to my understanding, they can’t really come down with normal virus’ like the flu, right? But they could get things like chronic migraines?
NANOBOTS!!! This is one of the best pieces of canon lore ever. I did a whole post on it but TLDR: normal human metabolisms have so much shit going on that they don't even notice nanobots in their body BUT speedsters have hyper accelerated metabolisms that are the equivalent of the straight A's overachiever in school on meth. So speedster metabolisms do notice nanobots and they attack full force, triggering all of the body's defenses and responses.
But the nanobots are metal so it obviously doesn't do anything. It just leaves the speedster lethargic, feverish, vomiting, dizzy, with a headache, sore muscles and a runny nose, ect. It's basically an allergic reaction.
Now, poisoning them can work depending on what the poison is/what the dosage is. You would need a 100% fatal poison and you would need a fairly high dose. Because speedsters heal fast and they have a hyper accelerated metabolism, so any poison that is based on toxicity (alcohol poisoning for example) would be out of their system faster than it could even take effect.
But poisons that can't be cleared out/processed by the body (take cyanide for example, it binds with the chemical receptors in your body making it physically impossible to use oxygen) wouldn't really be affected by their metabolism at all. So while the speedsters could heal the damaged tissues from these poisons fairly quickly (making it seem as though they were only slightly affected) they would ultimately need time to do so, time they would not have if it kills them first. This isn't technically what you are asking because there would be no substance that 'makes them sick', there would only be 'fine', 'not fine for like a minute and then fine again' and 'dead'. (... unless they were hooked up to a steady supply of the toxin)
Likewise, (this is getting more into theoretical territory, less canon) there might be some illnesses that would affect them? Not for long but if you got something super fucking fatal like Rabies, it might make them display mild cold symptoms for a day or something.
I don't know though. They have really fucking good immune systems. And even super fatal diseases can be fought. Take my example of Rabies, while it is commonly thought to be 100% fatal once symptoms show up there actually have been cases of people surviving it. Rabies is a very stealthy and fast disease, so the main problem with treating it is that your body's immune system isn't fast enough to stop it. People have survived by being placed in medically induced comas (slowing their bodily functions and thus the disease) for long enough that the medication can eradicate it. So for a speedster? That's gone in a minute tops. You would need an insane disease that I'm not sure even exists.
There's also like... pregnancy and menstruation. Growing pains, muscle pain from running is a BIG ONE, being dehydrated/starvation, blood loss, ect. Lots of ways to fuck with a speedster in a way they can't immediately fix.
There are also speedster specific ailments. It's basically 50/50 if a natural born speedster gets a weird highly fatal aging disease. Sometimes speedsters can be born without a kinetic energy shield which makes using their powers at all incredibly fatal to them. All speedsters will have connectivity issues at some point that can be fatal. Sometimes Time Gets Bad™ (shout out to when Barry kept chronically stealing time from people/things every time he used his powers). Sometimes they have too much energy and can't maintain human form (shout out to when Wally didn't know what the speedforce was and was accidentally cosplaying Ghost Rider). Velocity 9 is a highly addictive drug that works on speedsters and makes them display typical addiction behavior (and withdrawal). V9 can also cause a speedster to 'overdose' (burst into flames/lightning/energy). They all have the constant urge to yeet themselves into the speedforce. Ect.

What are your thoughts on Hakurin in CCC? I found their interactions to be cute, especially since Rin is a little more open about her crush
HakuRin gets the same treatment as a lot of other Extra casts that return in CCC: more depth. Rin's more upfront about her feelings for Hakuno, even if they fly over her poor head, and we do get more scenes with her and Hakuno. I still remember the screenshots of her commenting how cute Hakuno is in the Extra outfit if I remember correctly.
Unfortunately, HakuRin, along with HakuRani, basically gets cast to the side and forgotten in favor of the ship with Sakura, BB, the Alter-Egos, and Hakuno's servants. Rin even gets done more dirty during the True Route as there isn't even a final goodbye moment with her after Kiara betrays everyone, absorbs BB, and Sakura, tossing Hakuno back to the top of the stairs of the labyrinth leading back down into the core, and tossing Hakuno's servant to the edge of the universe within the Far Side. All we get is a few words with Rani as the last interactions we get with the Student Council.
It's frustrating because they do all this work to establish Rin and Hakuno's relationship in both Extra and CCC, only to then disregard it in favor for putting Sakura in the limelight only for that to not even matter moving forward with Extella and Link.
I wish CCC had an ending with not only Rin and Rani but also Julius and Leo, as both of them were suppose to have endings in Extra but they were cut from the game, instead of just having all of them be shoved to the side for Sakura, who didn't even have a specific ending in Extra.
Let Hakuno somehow breed with Rin, Nasu! We need HakuRin babus to be cannon.
