Cooking with Eliot (4/?)

I am forever amused by Eliot’s expression in The Wedding Job when Nate reluctantly agrees to take the job with “Let’s go rob Nicky Moscone. A guy who kills people and lives in our city.”
The expression feels to me like a “Wait... I’m a guy who kills people and lives in our city…” 🤔
I generally assume Eliot didn’t officially stop killing people until somewhere between s1 and s2 or after they reunite in s2. He said being a good guy gets under your skin, like maybe he kept doing what he had been doing when Leverage didn’t have a job and after they broke up, but it was getting harder to stop himself from feeling. And it probably still happens sometimes given his job, but he no longer intends it…I got sidetracked into a ramble…I just wanted to try a haphazard attempt at drawing that reaction to Nate’s snarky remark. 😅

shoutout to the moment in the wedding job where the mark's wife insults eliot's cooking and he's that personally offended that after she leaves he spins his knife around like he's about to go after this so-far-innocent civilian with a kitchen knife

One Dress a Day Challenge
June: Weddings
Leverage (s1e7, "The Wedding Job") / Beth Riesgraf as Parker, plus Lindsay Halladay as Maid of Honor
I really have to hand it to the Leverage costume team--they are positive geniuses at coming up with a truly terrible costume when the situation calls for it (here's another fine example of their work). This bridesmaid dress would be bad enough if it had just been overly ruched, shiny, and pink--but whoever decided to sprinkle it with blue roses deserves an Emmy. And just when you think it can't get worse, there are the gloves! Which appear to have some sort of frilly garter holding them on, because you can see in one picture that Parker is starting to pull the glove off, but there's still a band further up her forearm. Add blue open-toed shoes and a silly little tiara for the crowning (pun intended) touch.
The dress zips up the back and then a panel snaps over the fastening to hide it. I've included a shot of the back fastening for reference.
Also, for comparison and to prove that the dress really looks good on no one, here it is on Lindsay Halliday as the Maid of Honor from the same episode:

I feel like I should have realized sooner that Taliesin based Ashton‘s fun off-screen kitchen adventure on the kitchen fight from The Wedding Job and that therefore Ashton is now partially inspired by Eliot Spencer ❤️ hitter inspiring hitter

I want to know how jobs were assigned during the Wedding Job. Because Eliot can cook and Parker is good at sewing (she designs her own rigs after all) and Nate did go to Seminary School for a while. But they don't know about all that yet. It was the third job they'd done together; Nate was surprised Eliot could even cook. So was it randomly assigned? Did Sophie seek everyone out and figure out what they could do? Did she come up with a list of jobs typical for wedding planners and everyone just showed up dressed like whatever role they felt competent in?
How did this happen?

[ID: Sketches of moments from the season 1 episodes 1-5 of Leverage; Eliot and Hardison staring intently at each other while getting dressed in the elevator, Hardison and Parker stopping Eliot from running out from behind a shipping container, Eliot serving everyone food in a sleeveless top, Eliot carrying Parker away while she is dressed in patient scrubs and he is in doctor scrubs, and the crew (minus Hardison) on the plane just after they realise the mark's real plan. End ID]

Just wanted to do a 'scene per episode' series of sketches as warm ups lately, starting logically with season 1. Might become a 'scene per episode plus bonus between season unseen moments' (slightly swayed by headcanons of stuff between the hitter-hacker-thief trio between seasons as their bond grows). Anyway! Here are some sketches.
