Did you project a negative attribute on her? Did you conclude that she’s looking for attention? Did you doubt her knowledge on any subject? Did you assume she isn’t drinking what’s in her glass? Did you reassure yourself that you are better than her? Did you let her existence make you feel less than? Did you question her right to be here? • Maybe it was the way she’s dressed or how she wears her hair. Maybe it was the way she’s posing, sticking her leg out like that. Maybe it was the fact that she’s a woman in a male-dominated space. Maybe it was society’s message that we are in competition with each other. Maybe it was our own insecurities. Maybe it was her insecurities. Or maybe you didn’t question her at all. #Repost • @thecraftbrewnette THE WELCOMING COMMITTEE 😜 • A few weeks ago, I was lucky enough to do an IG Live that took on a life of its own. • It’s generally accepted that Episode 24 of @hoppy_urban_diversion and @baddadbeerreview‘s show got more than it bargained for after 2.5 hours and a DIPA/TIPA/stout triple threat.🤷🏻‍♀️ • (ICYMI: Check it out on Hoppy ‘s profile!) • Little did I know that this raucous time would actually lead to an IRL meetup with @hoppy_urban_diversion while I was back home in California for two weeks. 🙌🏼 • Not only did we hit 3 breweries, crack a crowler with my fam, and pull off the most epic IG Live ambush (see the surprise episode!), but THIS KID shows up with a BOX of incredible bottles, cans, and even glassware. • We’re talking @slicebeer, @alvaradostreetbrewery, @hopbutcher, @casa_agria, @moksabrewing, @machineheadbrewing, @foragerbrewery, @horusagedales, @fairislebrewing, and @hubbards_cave … are you jealous yet? • Quite the warm welcome back into my home state. 🔥 • So I definitely think I got the better half of this deal, since I came out with some ridiculous memories, a major haul, and IG to IRL addition who’s not going anywhere anytime soon. #Repost @thecraftbrewnette ・・・ THE ELEMENT OF SURPRISE 😲 • Sometimes we underestimate the things around us out of familiarity. • Take hometowns, for example. Just out of sheer familiarity, we forget to do things like be tourists in our own cities. 📍 • I grew up outside of really small town wayyy up in Northern California. • Not exactly known for must-see destinations, the strip of land between Chico and Redding was a still a great place to grow up… but not really one that came with much excitement. 😐 • We generally had to make our own fun. • There was, however, one extremely well-known brewery within day-trip distance - you know who you are - which got all the North Valley glory. 🏔 • So when I finally got into craft beer, I didn’t exactly put the other breweries that had popped up in the area on my brewery bucket list. • But on a whim on my last trip out, I decided to check out @woodysbrewingco. 🤷🏻‍♀️ • The first sip of my flight was their APRICOT WHEAT, and I quickly realized I had sorely underestimated what was coming out of my hometown area. • So as I made my way through the NUTTY WOODY BROWN ALE, PRAY FOR POWDER PORTER, SIR IRISH RED ALE, HAZY ATTITUDE IPA, and GOLDEN EAGLE ALE, I started to wonder what else I had been missing. 🤔 • I think it might be time to be a tourist in my hometown. • Have you ever been pleasantly surprised by a brewery close to home? 🙌🏼 • If so, let me know. #Repost @thecraftbrewnette GOT THAT BIG STORM ENERGY ⛈ • And by that I mean always hustling to be the best version of ourselves. • You see, congratulations are in order this weekend! 🥳 • If you know @bigstormingbrewing , you know that they have some killer spots up and down Florida. • Great beer, food, events, even a brew dedicated to the Tampa NHL team. ⚡️ • But what isn’t as well-known is that there was a small location right across the bridge from me in Cape Coral. • Well, everyone is gonna know now! 🙌🏼 • This weekend, Big Storm took over a massive space that opened up and expanded their SWFL offerings. • And just like that, they went from hole in the wall to heart of the community! 💙 • So, of course, I had to raise a toast at their soft opening... but not just any brew would do. 🤔 • The occasion called for their CATEGORY 5 BELGIAN QUINTUPEL, which clocks in at an impressive 16.3%. • Fermented with Belgian and Champagne yeast in French oak Chardonnay barrels, this pour is just another example of going all in. • So even as this year continues to kick our asses, let’s all make like Big Storm and keep on grinding... • Because if there is one thing they’ve shown us, it’s that there are always sunnier days ahead. 💋🍻 (at Big Storm Brewing Co.) https://www.instagram.com/p/CGvM49WrhQb/?igshid=smvh54avu02n
