ppl defending ai art by completely ignoring the genuine major issues that people have with it and pretending like ppl r just mad because they're Art Elitists and think that art should only be made through Suffering instead of being easy are some of the most embarrassing ppl tumblr has been recommending to me lately

you know I definitely don't love waking up to a terrible thunderstorm but if it happens to knock the power out in a few hours so I don't have to work, I'd be ok with that

"Hmm, I should edit together some of my favorite clips of this streamer. Let's see-"
"Well, there isn't that much video material to work with. But there's this!" [clicks on video]

@bonetrousledbones "cannibal papyrus, you say 👀"
Only hypothetically of course!
The oversatuation/radiation caused monsters to develop all sorts of mutations, and the brothers were no exception...
Not saying that the mutations made them cannibals! Of course not! But there is a deep, insatiable craving for something that neither can figure out, and they maybe sometimes experiment in seeing what comes the closest to scratching that itch.
Doesn't help the underground is usually in varying states of famine, so even if they did resort to doing what they needed to survive, who would fault them for it?

Verdot trained Jae-hyo to stick to rifles initially for two reasons:
He had an aptitude for them already, albeit older models stolen during the Wutai War.
It kept Jae further away from his targets, thus creating more of a disconnect from the action potentially triggering a trauma response like that of his first kill.
His SNS triggered him to respond in an aggressive manner for his immediate survival, but shortly after he went into a 'fawn' state due to C-PTSD. Verdot had to physically remove Jae's hands from holding the corpse of his assaulter while he was reduced to apologetic begging.
Whether or not he continued to exhibit this response was a deciding factor in his consideration for recruitment.

Imagine if Jonathan had gotten his way and stayed home to protect Mina. He would have spent the whole time making somewhat alarming declarations of love to her and all,, but... The confrontation would have been so much more boring.
I mean I assume Quincey would shoot Dracula at some point, but no one else even came close to lunging at him with a giant knife then flinging themselves out a window after him, so. 😒

'fun' childhood memory time again:
when I was a kid, maybe 6 or 7, my mother and I were out riding our bikes together (I think that was unusual in itself). we were outside our village where there were fields and nothing else. then the path in the direction we were going in was blocked by a 'private road' sign that said you weren't allowed to go that way.
my mother said we'll go anyway (which would absolutely be fine, everyone does that and no one would mind - which I know now). I said we can't because that's not allowed. she insisted we go anyway, and I broke down crying because I was so scared and horrified. I had no idea where we were exactly but I was so upset that I turned around and went home on my own when she refused to go another way.
that's still a funny story she likes to tell sometimes (about how I was such a little governess who wanted everyone to always follow her rules). because it's sooo normal for a small child to have a breakdown over that (I couldn't stop crying the rest of the day because it scared me so much). because if a child reacted that way in front of me I would not think 'oh you're so bossy, you always want to get your way', I would think 'this child is so anxious that she can't do something completely fine and normal because a fucking sign says it's not allowed'.
or the time she told me to go to the dentist with her instead of going to school and I cried for hours (I had to go with her, she said so. but that's not allowed and I will get in trouble and I will have to lie about it and lying makes you a bad person). or literally dozens of other examples like that. it's probably unfair but I really do resent my parents for never realising/caring that that is not normal, and getting me the help I clearly needed (because now I'm 32 and just figuring out that that's not how other people feel and getting help is hard and scary).

The most bewildering like deeply ideological and not at all real-world realistic applicable I ever see expressed in fandom and which throws me for a loop every single time is like...
‘It’s bad when the Chosen One or Royal Heir (or whatever) has some kind of actual physical or magical superiority over normal people because it means that they really do deserve their position :/ and undermines any message the story might tell that oppression is Bad :/’
Like. Am I wrong or is this just. Actual uncritical might makes right thinking...???
A person having magical powers does not grant them a moral right to rule over others. Nor the same with fighting ability or general physical fitness or whatever. People are every bit as equally valuable and meaningful regardless of how ‘fit’ they are.
Like am I wrong or are the non-magical people in these scenarios basically just the in-world equivalent of disabled people. And so... obviously it should go without saying that these people aren’t necessarily incapable of having a say in the running of the kingdom or whatever. Like. There is just no logical reason why that should be the case.
And yet over and over I see this assumption made, that ‘hero has special magic’ somehow DOES imply, inevitably, that societal castes are right and good. That the only way to actually tell a story where people all have equal value is to make them all equally physically or magically capable (i.e., make nobody disabled).
IDK maybe it’s just me but it makes perfect sense that in a world where some people have special powers, they’d tend to oppress those who don’t. And that it would be harder for those who don’t to succeed or be able to triumph as heroes. Isn’t... isn’t that just literally how oppression works, IRL...?!
