The thing about those posts that are like “cis people can go on masculinizing/feminizing hrt” or “cis people can get trans surgeries” is that imo if you’re doing things that change your sex you kind of are trans. Even if you identify with the gender you were assigned, you are transing your sex and that’s a trans experience. Like you may not be transgender but you are transsexual which is still trans. I just don’t think it really makes sense to classify someone as cis when they have materially changed their sex, even if they identify as the gender they were assigned

I was cafab and I’m a woman but I’m pursuing medical transition to change my sex #so it doesn’t make sense to me to call myself cis because taking hrt and getting surgeries to alter my sex is a trans experience #there’s more nuance to my identity as a transnasc woman than just that and I also don’t see my sex and gender as completely separate #but I’m not getting into all of the details here. although I’m always willing to answer questions abt it because I love to talk about myself #also because I know people on this website love to interpret things in bad faith on purpose #this post is not implying that trans people who don’t medically transition aren’t trans #medical transition and rejecting your assigned gender are both things that make you trans even if you do one without the other #because they’re both in opposition to the way that gender and sex are imposed upon us by cis societal rules

in regards to the last ask about lateral violence, literally the last post on the baeddel-txt blog is made by a trans woman, she's on tumblr u can check. i think we should accept some transfemme ppl can have shitty opinions that hurt others, just like any person who's part of any minority can. its not useful to put a whole group of people on pedestals, that only adds pressure on transfemmes to "behave right" and gives the opportunity for bigots to jump at them for every minor or perceived misdemeanour. obviously it does no one any good to pretend this kind of transfemme person is common. they really aren't. but ignoring the fact it happens likewise helps no one, u know what i mean? also, i dont know that transmasc terfs are awfully common either. if you go on terf blocking sprees like i do you obviously stumble upon them. but as i said earlier, that doesn't mean we should just ignore their existence, they are terrible people. tldr; transmasc and transfemme ppl r both capable of being shitty to each other and we should acknowledge that

You mean this post? It’s not a good take but truthfully I have seen “lesbian” trans men on this app, or trans men like Saint that “reclaim” the d slur. The truth is that some straight trans men often do prey on wlw, lesbian, and/or sapphic spaces because of internalized transphobia, but because this hellsite sees transmascs as uWu smol boy no one says anything about it (which is why people like Saint have a legion of rape apologist followers in this hellsite.) I don’t agree with the “trans men are appropriating trans identity” or the “most non-binary people are CAFAB and most trans men ‘CHOOSE’ to identify as non-binary” because that’s just repackaged transphobia, but there is a bit of truth on the fact that trans men are inherently privileged from trans women. Is it a terrible take? Absolutely. But does it have some truth to it? Yes.

I agree with you in that transfemmes can be shitty too and that those of them should be held accountable. I even mentioned Vice’s problematic views on transmascs on my last reblog. But transmascs are inherently privileged from transfemmes (and I’m saying this from my own lived experience as a transmasc) and so we’re more likely to be transmisogynistic than transfemmes are to be transphobic towards us.
