Bentley Mark VI Majestic Major Hemi V8 Special (one-off).
When you first see a Bentley Mark VI in all of its stately proportions, high-performance isn’t the first thing that comes to mind. The Mark VI is now often used as a wedding car along with its Rolls-Royce stablemate the Silver Wraith, and what they lack in outright speed they make up for with elegance, dignity, and opulence.
For the uninitiated, a Bentley Special is a car that started life as a Bentley, often a Mark VI, that then has its chassis shortened and lowered. A new more sporting body is usually fitted on top, possibly influenced by the Bentley Le Mans racers of the 1920s and 1930s, and new engines and transmissions are frequently fitted for a more sporting driving experience.
In essence, Bentley Specials are hot rods for the kind of people who fare on a first name basis with all the Ritz-Carlton concierges from London to Los Angeles.
When delivered to customers most of the Bentley Mark VIs that were made were fitted with steel coachwork with four doors, and they were powered by either the 4.3 or 4.6 liter straight-six sending power to the rear wheels via a 4-speed manual gearbox.
The Daimler Majestic Major 4.5 V8 engine is perhaps not as well known as it should be. It was designed by legendary British engineer Edward Turner in two forms that look remarkably similar from the outside – the 2.5 V8 and the 4.5 V8.
The 2.5 V8 was produced in far higher numbers as it was fitted to both the Daimler SP250 sports car and the Daimler V8 250 four-door sedan. Surprisingly given the difference in displacement the external dimensions of the two engines are fairly close, the 4.5 is slightly wider, longer, and deeper.
Turner had made a name for himself designing motorcycle engines for Ariel and then Triumph earlier in his career, including the famous Ariel Square Four, the Triumph Speed Twin, the Triumph Thunderbird, and the Triumph T120 Bonneville.
In 1959 he designed the two automotive V8 engines for Daimler, using a very similar design for both engines, which included hemispherical combustion chambers and an overhead valve cylinder head design influenced by his earlier work on high-performance Triumph motorcycle engines.
The V8 has a 90º vee angle, an iron block with sandcast aluminum-alloy heads which contain two valves per cylinder actuated with pushrods from the camshaft which is located high in the block. The design of the engine has been praised by many over the years, including Jay Leno, however the fact that it was most famously fitted to the Daimler SP250 sports car – a vehicle that was not at all well-received – did dampen its reception somewhat. The 4.5 liter version of the V8 was fitted to the Daimler Majestic Major, a large and luxurious four-door sedan with a curb weight north of 4,000 lbs. The engine was said to produce 220 bhp and 283 lb ft of torque however this has been challenged in intervening years as the Daimler dynamometer was somewhat antiquated and was unable to produce readings above 220 bhp.
Whatever the actual power of the engine was it was prodigious, it was capable of propelling the hefty Daimler Majestic Major to a top speed of 120 mph, almost unheard of in such a vehicle at the time, and it gave the car performance that could rival many sports cars of the era.

Nowadays, for the past few years back, the motorcycle market has been experiencing a steady rise globally. Many more companies compete in this new trend. First Podium, Family Celebration
-> it has been a good weekend for the Leclerc family and specially the little Leclerc sibling
Tumblr media
As the sun rose over the Bahrain International Circuit, the tension in the air was palpable. It was the start of the 2023 F2 season, and for one young driver, this race meant everything. And what's more exciting is that you will be racing alongside your twin brother, Arthur Leclerc. He is older than you by 16 minutes, but you both share the same passion for racing. You were signed by Prema, while Arthur was with Dams.
As you arrived at the circuit for the first race of the season, you couldn't help but feel a little nervous. You were competing against some of the best drivers in the world, and you wanted to prove yourself. But at the same time, you were also excited to be racing alongside your brother. As you headed out for the first practice session, you quickly got into the rhythm of things. You felt comfortable in the car, and you were setting some decent lap times.
As the weekend progressed, you started to gain more confidence, and by the time qualifying came around, you were ready to go all out. Qualifying was intense, and you were fighting hard for a good grid position. You managed to put in a solid lap and ended up qualifying in P4. Arthur, on the other hand, was a bit further back in P7.
As you approached your car, you saw Ollie Bearman, your teammate and former crush, grinning at you. "Good luck out there," he said, giving you a pat on the back. "You've got this."
You smiled back at him, feeling grateful for the support. It was then that you heard a voice behind you. "Hey there, ma puce" Arthur said, using the nickname he had given you when you were kids.
You turned around to see your brother standing there, looking just as nervous as you felt. "Hey Turo," you replied, using the nickname you had given him. "How are you feeling?"
"I'm feeling good," Arthur said, grinning. "But not as good as you're going to feel when you get up on that podium."
You laughed, feeling your nerves start to dissipate. "Thanks, Arty. That means a lot coming from you. You are going to be there too"
With a final grin, Arthur wished you luck and made his way back to the Dams team garage. You watched him go, feeling a sense of pride and affection welling up inside you. Despite the playful rivalry between you, you knew that Arthur was always there for you when it mattered.
The race itself was a blur of speed and adrenaline. You pushed your car to the limit, trying to stay ahead of the pack and secure that coveted podium spot. When the checkered flag finally came down, you felt a surge of triumph as you crossed the finish line in second place.
Race day arrived, and you were feeling pumped. You knew that you had a good chance of getting a podium, and you were determined to make it happen. As the lights went out, you got off to a good start, and you were immediately fighting for positions. Arthur had a fantastic start and quickly made his way up the field. He was pushing hard and was soon battling for the lead. You were a bit further back, but you were also making progress.
As the race progressed, Arthur was leading the way, and you were right behind him in P2. You could see him pushing hard, and you knew that he wanted to win. You also knew that you had a chance of getting your first podium, and you were determined not to let it slip away. With a few laps to go, Arthur made a bold move and took the lead. You were right behind him, and you could see that he was driving at his absolute limit. You were also pushing hard, and you knew that you had to make a move soon if you wanted to win.
The Leclerc family was all present at the race, including your mother, Pascal, and your other brothers, Lorenzo and Charles.
In the end, Arthur held on to take the win, and you crossed the line in P2, securing your first podium finish in F2. As you pulled into Park Fermé, you could see your brothers, Charles and Lorenzo, waiting for you. They were both beaming with pride, and you could see how happy they were for you and Arthur. As you stepped out of your car, you ran towards your brothers, and you all hugged each other tightly. You were all cheering, and you could feel the love and support that your family had for you.
Arthur was already there, claiming that he had won the race and that he deserved all the attention. You playfully punched him in the arm, laughing, and started fighting for your family's attention. Turo was the first one to hug you, congratulating you on your achievement. He was genuinely proud of you, but he couldn't resist teasing you.
"I won the race!" he teased. "You're just second place!"
You rolled your eyes and gave him a playful shove. "I beat you in qualifying yesterday, so I'm still ahead of you," you retorted.
"I knew you could do it" he said, opening your and his visor to look at your eyes.
"Thank you Tur Tur" you said with your helmets together, as he was leaned down to be at your height.
Your maman stepped in then, pulling you both into a tight hug. "I am so proud of both of mes enfants" she said, her voice choked with emotion. "Your father would be so proud of you too."
You all stood there for a moment, basking in the warmth of your family's love and support. It was a moment you would never forget.
"Hey, Carla!" you called out, waving to her. "Come over here and celebrate with us!"
Carla came over and hugged you tightly, congratulating you on your amazing performance. You had always been close to her, and she was like a sister to you.
As you continued to celebrate with your family, Arthur pulled you aside and whispered, "I know about you and Ollie, you know."
Your heart skipped a beat as you looked at him in surprise. You had been crushing on Ollie for months, but you had never told anyone about your feelings, not even Arthur.
"How did you know?" you asked him.
"I could just tell," he said, shrugging. "Besides, it's not like you're very subtle about it."
You blushed, feeling embarrassed, but also relieved that your secret was out in the open.
"And what do you think?" you asked him hesitantly.
Arthur grinned mischievously. "I think it's about time you told him how you feel."
You smiled, feeling emboldened by his words.
As you stood on the podium, tears of joy streaming down your face, you couldn't help but feel overwhelmed with emotion.
And so, later that night, after the race was over and the crowds had dispersed, you found Ollie waiting for you in the paddock.
You took a deep breath and walked up to him, your heart pounding in your chest.
"Hey," you said, your voice trembling slightly.
"Hey," he replied, looking at you expectantly.
You took a deep breath and blurted out, "I really like you, Ollie. I've liked you for a long time now, and I just wanted to tell you that."
Ollie looked at you, his eyes shining with emotion. "I like you too," he said, before leaning in and kissing you.
As you pulled away from him, you heard a loud whoop from behind you. And then, as you turned back to your family, you saw Arthur and his girlfriend Carla standing there, watching you with amused expressions on their faces, as Arthur started yelling, "I knew it!" Your mother and brothers scolded him for his little discretion, and Pascal even pulled his ear in jest. However, you all started laughing, and the moment was captured in a photo that would forever be cherished.
"Would you like to go out with me tonight?" he asked.
You grinned, feeling a rush of excitement. "Yes, I would," you said.
As the F2 season progressed, you and Ollie continued to grow closer, with Arthur teasing you both every step of the way. Despite the teasing, you knew that Arthur was genuinely happy for you and your success.

a little while ago you made a down with the cis bus post about scara killing teppei!! would u mind going a little deeper into how the inazuman archon quest was flawed? i think it'd be interesting :]
asdfghjk listen, that post wasn't actually a Critique, i just thought it's funny and if teppei has to die from scara's actions, we might as well both support trans wrongs and make it fun, i don't actually hate teppei or think he was the real archon quest problem haha
i would like to finish replaying inazuma questline before writing anything in depth, but things which are obvious already:
1.pacing is GARBAGE. it goes from slow to too quick to too slow to wayyy too quick to stopping in its tracks to force u on a date with ayaka on gunpoint, than again way too quick through rebellion parts. and like i'm not an ayaka hater and i know her fans love that quest, but it should've been just a separate story quest like all others. it has NOTHING to do with the story. At least Yoimiya's is connected, though I'd either separate it too or trim the fat on it a lot, but ayaka's is just what feels like several hours of meandering bullshit. i had to wait 10 minutes of real time to make cheese to make her pizza and it was just the start
2.because we had to waste hours going on dates, rebellion part moves at breakneck speed when it tries to do too many things at once: it wants to endear and make you care about common rebellion soldiers, it wants to make you feel like you're earned respect and command position of your team by them giving u trials, it wants to have a cool battle where kokomi is shown to be smart, and it wants to have fatui schemes with delusion effects shown developing gradually via teppei.
what ends up happening is that we do a lot of fetch quests, the battl is not properly set up so it ends up feeling small, and kokomi is shown kinda stupid instead of genius strategist.
3.more on kokomi. kokomi's only triumph is the win of that one battle, but its invalidated in hindsight bc she won by hiring mercenaries, but she hired them using money she blindly accepted, and they ended up being fatui's and it lead to the delusion crisis. like she didn't win bc of any great strategies, she won bc she was bankrolled and manipulated by fatui.
i think what they should have done is first of all, cut ayaka hostage situation, have the battle happen IMMEDIATELY as we arrive, have kokomi win by being brilliant and using her fish as spies or whatever, then combine the "endear and make you care about common rebellion soldiers" (rn happens before battle when u go with teppei around) and "make you feel like you're earned respect and command position of your team by them giving u trials" (now happens after trial when kokomi gives u swordfish team). teppei should just be a loser in swordfish team instead of wasting all that time at the start. then have a SECOND battle (it's a fucking war and we barely fight rn) and thats where fatui setup can happen. this way we establish kokomi as great strategist independent of fatui, make the bonding with rebellion more focused, have more cool action, and fatui schemes are still included.
4. raiden fans dont interact, biggest inazuma problem is raiden woobyfycation at the eleventh hour that immediately disregards both consequences of her actions and other character arcs, but also makes her seem as the dumbest jock in teyvat. instead of her having coherent vision, its just oh its her twin who was smart, raiden herself just didn't know that ppl have feelings, this is why she knowingly let fatui start civil war. but i think i'll talk about it later when i finish the whole inazum

TVR Vixen
Although the Vixen used the same chassis as the outgoing Tuscan, the significant change was the use of the 1599 cc Ford Kent engine, as found in the Ford Cortina GT, developing 88 bhp. The Ford unit was selected in order to keep prices as low as possible and because of supply problems from BMC.
The Cortina unit was less powerful than the MGB engine which developed 95bhp, but it was also lighter. To use up remaining supplies, the first twelve Vixens built still received the MGB engine.
The Vixen’s bodywork was also slightly revised, with the bonnet having a broad flat air intake scoop and the rear of the car was fitted with the round “Ban the Bomb” Cortina MK I tail lamps.
The S1 was replaced by the heavily modified TVR Vixen S2 in October 1968. The S2 was built with a longer 90 inch wheelbase chassis, introduced on the Tuscan V8 but which TVR had now standardised to address complaints about difficulty of ingress. The bonnet was restyled again, with some early cars having a prominent central bulge and later cars having twin intake ducts at the front corners of the bonnet. The tail lamps were updated from the round Cortina MK I style to the newer wraparound Mark II style. Also very significant was the fact that the body was bolted, rather than bonded to the chassis, meaning it could be easily removed for repairs.
The interior was improved, with a leather-skinned steering wheel mounted much lower than before. In a further attempt to improve the quality feel, the body was thicker and panel fit was improved.
In December 1968, TVR announced that two more models, the S.2 Sport and S.2 Super Sports would be available as standard. These models came with an uprated engine from Speedwell including fully balanced bottom end, ported cylinder head and two twin choke Weber carburettors, with the Sports producing 100bhp and the Super Sports 115bhp. Both of these models came with seat belts and leather steering wheel as standard.
The S3 continued to improve the car with a number of detail changes. The heat extraction vents on the flanks behind the front wheels were decorated with “Aeroflow” grilles borrowed from the c-pillars of the Ford Zodiac Mark IV and the Ford four-cylinder engine was now in the same tune as in the Ford Capri, producing 92 bhp. Instead of wire wheels, cast alloy wheels were fitted as standard.
The S4 cars were an interim model that used the TVR M Series chassis with the Vixen body shell. Apart from the chassis, there were no significant mechanical or cosmetic changes between the S3 and S4. Twenty-two were built in 1972 and one in 1973.
The 1300 model arrived in late 1971 and was built in an attempt to fill an “economy” market segment for sports cars. It was powered by a 1296 cc Standard SC engine from the Triumph Spitfire engine making 63 bhp, and its lack-lustre performance limited its sales success. Top speed was barely 90 mph. Only fifteen were built, all in 1972. The final six of these cars were built on a M Series chassis and the very last 1300 was also built with M Series bodywork, although it never received a “1300M” designation.
