Hello! As you can tell this group has been pretty dead. 

As we mentioned before, real life got in the way, as did responsibilities we had to deal with before we could properly mod this verse. Those responsibilities have not gone away, and due to the sheer amount of time it has been, we both now feel it fair to formally close the group instead of simply leaving you all in the dark.

So consider this verse officially CLOSED. While we won't be deleting this blog, do feel free to unfollow it. We would like to thank everyone who participated while DiPP was around, we highly appreciate your interest, and wish you all the best in the future.

“....”At first, there is no response. A pregnant pause filling the walls of the colosseum  as the stuffed toy stays inanimate in Merry’s arms.  With all eyes gazed upon it with no response, for a moment it almost seems that what Yukari implied was simply one of her mean spirited pranks....

..Until, there is a small twitch. In her grip, Merry can feel a slight trembling that remains hidden from sight as the yarn covered head that  once leaned slack against the side of her forearm slowly rises to attention.

...There wasn’t any chance of pretending anymore, was there? He had to face the music....

   ...He didn’t quite understand everything, but he did understand that the Pokédoll thing was talking and-- judging by how all eyes (or most) were suddenly on him-- that he was being blamed for...what all, exactly? Taking the doll and hiding it, that was for sure. The papers too, probably. Hmm...

   ...Well, either way, the human with the bag was now a talking doll. Which meant he could probably answer any and all questions about what he’d seen and experienced, couldn’t he? ...Ah well. No use in pretending the doll was lying.

   Yes...a real shame the poor thing wasn’t dead like it was supposed to be. You couldn’t punish someone for murder if the victim didn’t die, could you?

Yakumo scheming up a dinner and a show

Gensokyo is no stranger to humans being brought here from the outside world, it’s a daily occurrence that at least a handful of humans get spirited away by youkai-sage Yukari Yakumo. Usually they are the useless and forgotten of society; the kind that the outside world won’t notice missing.  Per Yukari the humans usually come from the same outside world as the mildly-famous outsider Renko Usami.    A recent crop of humans has broken from this pattern however.

Recently, Yukari has brought in a crop of humans that are decidedly different from the usual fare.  Rather than being useless and forgotten, many of these humans seem quite capable.  They also come from versions of the outside world that are significantly more exotic then the one Gensokyo usually imports from.  Yukari has confirmed that she is to blame for this recent odd crop, but remaining true to her youkai among youkai nature she has declined to say why.

Speculation as to why Yukari would take these actions has lead some to think that there may be a problem with the stability of Gensokyo’s food supply.   It’s possible that something has happened in the outside world that has caused Yukari to need to look else where for Gensokyo’s food supply. There’s also the possibility that Yukari is simply bored and thought this might be fun.

Hakurei has not changed rules

Youkai readers are reminded that despite the sudden change in Yukari’s imports, the Hakurei shrine has not changed the rules regarding human hunting.   They are only valid targets when outside the village or inside if you can avoid getting caught.

The Bunbunmaru will be following this story as it develops.

Satori accidentally gains divinity

What’s the most memorable mistake you ever made dearest reader?  Did you accidently become a goddess?  If not, then Satori Komeiji of Chireiden most likely has you beat.  

Indeed, dearest reader rumor has it that Satori recently ascended to godhood while preparing breakfast in one of Chireiden’s many kitchens.  There is yet no indication as to what triggered the change.  The few people that have dared to ask the new goddess, have been met with rather un impressive answers.

Per Satori, “The combined faith in <her> is sufficient for it, apparently.”

Entry into crowded religion market

Satori’s divinity marks another entrant into the already crowded competition for Gensokyo’s faithful. Satori joins the ranks of other relative new comers such as the Moyria shrine, and Hinaism against the more established Hakurei and Buddhist faiths.

Traditionally goddesses in Gensokyo have only pursued the faith of the humans of the village. However, the increase in competition has caused some groups to go after alternate sources of faith.  Most notably would be the Moryia shrine that has made several large inroads with the youkai of the mountain and the Buddhists that have done the same with the youkai of the area around the village.

It is still unknown how Satori plans to go after faith.  Due to the accidental nature of her divinity it’s possible that she may not yet have a plan. Although in the opinion of yours truly, it would make the most sense to go after the residents of the underground first.  The Oni are a largely untapped market per recent polling.

Other goddesses begin to take notice

Most of the divinities have yet to issue a formal comment on the issue.  Many likely are waiting to see how Satori decides to conduct herself.

One however, the outer goddess Hecatia extended an offer of friendship to her newly formed peer. This has some observers worried as Hecatia’s intentions for Gensokyo have been historically questionable.  A fact likely not lost on Satori given her diplomatic yet cold reaction to the gift.

Accidental nature questioned

Satori is the second youkai from the underground to attain divinity through questionable or non-traditional means. She is proceeded by the famous or infamous Utsuho Reiuji, a hell raven that managed to attain the power of the sun god Yatagarasu during the incident that lead to the creation of Moryia’s hot spring.

This has lead some observers to question the accidental nature of Satori’s ascension in lieu of the possibility that it’s part of a power play on the part of Chireiden to tip the balance of power against Gensokyo.  Adding fuel to the speculation fire, there are unconfirmed reports that the shrine maiden of the Hakurei shrine has been to Chireiden; possibly out of the same concern for the balance of power.

Long lost brother

The Scarlet sisters Remilia and Flandre are some of Gensokyo’s most famous citizens but recent news has caused some to question if there might be a third Scarlet sibling.  This news comes after several eye witness accounts of a guest at the Scarlet Devil Mansion that bore a striking resemblance to Remilia Scarlet.

SDM Refuses comment

When asked for comment on the matter our intrepid reporters were turned around at the gate without being given a reason.  As of press time the SDM still has not issued a statement on the matter.

Remilia is well known for her open and charismatic nature.  This sudden secrecy marks a drastic departure from her recent behavior. This has lead some observers to question if there might be more to the story than initially appears.

Possible connection to Flandre

This would not be the first time that Remilia has hid the existence of a family member.  Up until the Scarlet mist incident broke, Remilia had kept her younger sister’s existence a secret from all Gensokyo. Purportedly out of fear that Flandre was a danger to the rest of Gensokyo.  This may be a similar situation.

Double dealing ceremony

Sad news dearest reader! The much-anticipated double wedding of Parsee Mizuhashi to Sukuna Shinmyoumaru and Tenshi Hinanawi to Hina Kagiyama has been postponed indefinitely.  This no doubt comes as a shock and disappointment to all those that were invited.

Possible repercussions

The Kagiyama/Hinanawi marriage was rumored to have been a political one to further improve relations between Gensokyo and the celestials after the unfortunate destruction of the Hakurei shrine at the hands of Tenshi herself.  Experts on Celestial relations worry that if the wedding was authentic, it being called off or postponed may herald a worsening in the already strained relations.

Even if this is the case dearest reader, it is the opinion of yours truly that people should not marry for political gain!  But for love!

Further complicating matters is Hina Kagiyama’s fast growing religious following.  There was hope among the faithful that the marriage date would mark the first holiday that Hinaism could call truly its own.

Attendees disappointed

The wedding had been expected to be the scene to be seen at this season, with several of Gensokyo’s most famous going on record with their plans for the wedding.  Alice Margitroid, the well-known puppeteer and rumored Makai princess even went so far as to sew a new dress.  No doubt she will not be the only one disappointed by this news.

Invitations possibly faked

While it is still just a rumor at this point, there are indications that the entire wedding may have been a prank from the beginning.  However as those involved did not respond to the request for comment from your truly by press time this can not be said for sure.

As Kaede was looking over the village, hopefully looking for something that could be considered helpful to the case, she came across two pieces of paper outside the Gas Station.

Looking carefully, she read the contents:

"Your first was ----, the daughter of a diplomat. First you lived in a fancy house, and she called you Blanche after the color they themed her ------ after. Eventually, you travel far across the sea to J---- for her father’s w-rk."

"Then there was -oro. He always loved food, eating it or otherwise. Playing r-staur-nt, watching co-king shows on TV tog-ther...He even went so far as to call you Yaki, like ----soba. He has his own restaurant now, the ------ -----. You always go to visit, even if you can’t ---- -- ---. ...You h-pe that his sp-cialty is his way of ----------- --- s-m-how."

Well, she took the two pieces of paper, and continued looking around.

A. Black Omen-Birb

        The corrupted android finally decided to come out from where it sat within the woods. After all, he still had to go into town do to some interaction. Though it was most likely due to the fact that he still needed some time to recuperate. After all, sleep was still a necessity. And there was no way of sleeping alone the forest in this game of murder with nobody watching his back. 

( please, the virus may be been in control of maximas body, but it still had human functions -- more than the stable version even )

But as Maxima continued to walk, it stopped when it heard a scream. It couldn’t help but smile at the sound. Was that music to him? ( perhaps ) Shortly after he could hear a rather familiar flapping of wings. ( oh my, was that a sign ? )

Though he would still continue to take his time to get to the town. It wouldn’t be long before Yukari would call for them to gather.

B. Body Discovery 1

        Did Maxima know when Yukari was going to call for the gathering? No. Was he aware of what exactly happened? Absolutely not. But The android was very well in collective his own information and draw from his own conclusions about what was going on. Not that he could predict and tell anybody what exactly happened. He wasn’t the type to explain and answer the whole ‘who dunnit’ scenario. But it should have been no surprise that Maxima could just assume and not be surprised about what happened. 

( after all, a time-traveller learned to just be quick on their toes about predictability )

Though as Maxima stood in the back of the crowd surrounding the rather peaceful body, he couldn’t help but notice a few things. ( evidence ? no , nevermind the evidence ) 

One was that a peculiar watcher was not at the direct scene. ( my , where could red be ? ) 

The other was that there was another body not even remotely present at this scene. ( not coming to a place that the infamous yukari yakumo told you to be at ? very strange indeed )

But Maxima would take his place in leaving the direct scene of the neatly decorated crime only to go within the school. ( not suspicious at all , right ? ) He’d do his place in dragging a peculiar mute out of the doors and dragged him to another place.

C. Body Discovery 2

        Maxima took his time to enjoy it really. Smile on his face, he brought Red to the second scene. ( my how did he  k n o w  ? ) But anybody with a clear mind would have picked it up. After all, victim number two visited the library often and he wasn’t at the scene of the first crime.

Maxima didn’t even bother to pay his respects for this poor victim though. He had actually laughed as he covered his mouth. ( was it cause he was nervous ? not really ) “Ah-ha? may that’s such a shame.” So it seemed like there was sarcasm laced in the robot’s words. 

He wouldn’t notice that Red left without having no response but he’d definitely leave the scene rather cheerful. “Props to the killer~♪ They did my job for me~♥”

That ain’t how you leave a dresser at all, zura.” That was really all Komasan could say at the room he peeked into at the ruined apartment complex, spotting the dust covered floors with the occasional human shoeprints on the particularly dirty parts and what looked like a recently ransacked dresser. Clothes tossed this way and that...someone sure must’ve wanted to find something real bad. But as he carefully closes the door as he exits, the yokai suddenly notices a few pieces of paper caught on the side of the house. With writing on them even...! Did Mr. Wind decide to blow them this way? ...It took a real long time to find a big enough rock to use as a stool and grab them, though. Mr. Wind could’ve blown them a little bit closer to the ground. "...You don’t know if ----- ever called you anything. Maybe it was Yuu, or maybe it was just “you”, in the e-d all you knew that he pi-ked you up from the trash and decided to n-v-r let go. Everyone always lo-ked at him oddly when he ta--ed to you, even when he hadn’t went for one of his weirder t--ics of c-nvers-tion. But it wasn’t like he had anyone -lse to talk to as an orp--n. ...The way he spoke to y-u so sincerely, it almost felt like you really were - ---- ------.”  “....Ev-- when they f-oun-- him --- in the sn-w, it took them ---- hours to get his body to let go of you." _______________ "-z-um- named you Akio, after her br-ther who was sent off to the war.
