Bible Study Saturday!!!

Book of Matthew

8: 16-22

A number of cures

16. That evening they brought Him many who were possessed by devils.

17. He drove out the spirits with a command and cured all who were sick. This was to fulfill what was spoken by the Prophet Isaiah:”

18. When Jesus saw the crowd all about him He gave orders to leave for the other side.

19. One of the scribes then came up and said to Him, “Master, I will follow you where ever you go.

20. Jesus said, “foxes have holes and the birds of the air have nests, but the Son of man has nowhere to lay his head.

21. Another man one of the disciples, said to him, “Lord, let me go and bury my father first.

22. But Jesus said, “Follow me, and leave the dead to bury their dead.”

A number of cures

16. That evening they brought Him many who were possessed by devils.

After healing Peter’s mother-in-law, many are brought to Jesus to rid them of “devils”.

I want to make sure we focus here on the word “devils”.

Please remember, “there is nothing new under the sun”.

How, the evil ones attack God’s people during Biblical times, the evil ones attack God’s people in present times.

When one sins, leads a filled life, or even request/invites demonic possession/presents in their life; this in many ways opens “doors” to the vil ones. The demons then have the legal spiritual right, to over take or attack that person. Sometimes, these demons or evil spirits; will even live within a person( for years). These evil ones control the host body; interior body, causing them to commit acts of evil. The acts of evil will be done sometimes without the host knowing, an evil act has been committed.

What’s also important to remember: satan, the evil ones, demon, and evil spirits; copy God. The evil ones gifts what unknowing people may think is a “blessing” from God. The evil ones give gifts, that if accepted by a person; can damn a person into unknowingly entering a covent with the kingdom of darkness.

satan and the many evil ones are: deceivers, misleaders, liars, jezebels(male and female), and wicked. Please always take any decision to God. Even if the decision is a date or a job……. to a move to …whatever.

Moving on with the Bible Study: Jesus for fills what was prophesied by the Prophet Isaiah. What was the prophecy told by the Prophet Isiah? Isaiah 53:4

People possessed by devils. (People being possessed by demons and devils is on the raise. Due to many factors, but some of the factors are: music, movies, drugs, alcohol, sinful living, and rituals.)

There are many types of devils: There are many kind of devils and evil spirits. The basic way to explain this as I have learned: for every good and Godly spirit, the evil ones have an evil spirit to attempt to combat the Kingdom of God. (I was going link a list of devils and demons, but it didn’t seem right. I pray, for those that seek out the list; which does exist in book and on the web, please pray over your eyes first.)

Just as God has Angels; the evil ones have dark angels. Just as God blesses his people; the evil ones “bless” those who willingly give themselves over into serve the kingdom of darkness.

17. He drove out the spirits with a command and cured all who were sick. This was to fulfill what was spoken by the Prophet Isaiah:”

Now please let’s focus the words, “drove out”.

I want to focus on these words a little. Why? Well, relating back to the possible meekness, that many try to portray of Jesus.

Does the words “drove out”, sound like an act that could be completed by someone that was; weak or meek. How about by someone soft spoken or a pushover?

I think not!!!

Who really believes that Jesus, was a soft speaking, gentle man when Jesus was casting out demons, and driving out devils from a possessed person?

Who really believes, that if previously Jesus was describe by those who witnessed Jesus teaching at the sermon on the Mount, “As one who spoke with authority, unlike the scribes.” That Jesus was not assertive and authoritative?

Please, who really believes that the evil ones could have been casted out by Jesus if he was whispering gently to the demons, evil ones, evil spirits, or devils?

Now of course our Saviors has all power and authority over the world both spiritual and natural. Jesus is everything wonderful, but also authority, commanding, and assertive.

Jesus has the ultimate faith. I believe faith is the power to all healings and casting out of evil ones. Why do I think this? Let’s keep reading.

Unconditional commitment

18. When Jesus saw the crowd all about him He gave orders to leave for the other side.

When Jesus saw the large crowds were forming, He gave an order for them to leave from the other side of the river.

This verse would possibly be better understood by reading: Matthew 8:5, but the multitude pressing him, he gave orders to pass over the sea of Galilee, otherwise called the sea of Tiberias, that both himself and the people might have a little rest.

This verse directly, mentions that the son of man find little rest. Little rest in service, little rest in the world, and little rest for the people of the world. But, this verse also stresses the fact that rest is important to everyone. Leading a stressful life, might hinder ones ability to properly focus and walk with Jesus.

Moving on: How do we know this mean those who choose to follow God and live a righteous life; will prove difficult?

Matthew 7:13-14 “Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the road broad that leads to destruction, and those who enter through it are many. 14. How narrow the gate and constricted the road that leads to life. And those who find it are few.

Bold faith and honorable commitment: Does this possibly mean, that in order for the miracles that Jesus makes happen; the requirement those who want o be healed have to have faith or commitment too?

I ask this question because one common “theme”, I have noticed: Those who asked for healing, pleaded on behalf of others healing, or faith demanded healing; all had the commitment to seek Jesus and faith.

The commitment and faith were not separate from the action of the miracle that Jesus preformed. Those who wanted to be healed: believed that if they just got to Jesus; they could be healed. And, once they had decided in their hearts and minds; that a healing would take place, once they got to Jesus: those who wanted to be healed. Those who took up that faith in action with intention; to go out and find Jesus.

Once getting to Jesus: those who wanted to be healed spoke. But, all these actions from intention to being held started, with committing to their faith.

I guess one would have to ask the “other side off the coin: If someone wasn’t healed or took many tries to get healed; does this mean possibly, that person, who didn’t get healed not be healed due to lack of faith? Is one having strong faith important for healing and therefore; salvation?

But, not evil ones is stronger than Jesus; so how could many tries be needed; if a person who wanted to be healed was great in faith and commitment?

This makes sense to me: One, 1. needs to have faith and commitment. 2. Declare that Jesus is their Lord and Savior. 3. Thank the promises of God that will occur. 4.This ensures the healing power of Jesus.

What are the promises of God, if we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior?

As a side note: my favorite verse is: New International Version Psalm 9:10

“Those who know your name trust in you, for you, LORD, have never forsaken those who seek you.”

This verse tell me, all I need to do is have faith and God is always deliver. AMEN!!!!

Again Jesus, is preparing those who choose to follow him. Jesus, is letting those who willingly follow Him: the reward in heaven will be great, but on earth life will be difficult. This makes me wonder why so many Christian believe that because they follow God, walk with Jesus , and are filled with the Holy Spirit; that their life should be easier than any others?

Don’t get me wrong, I am in the same boat. When, in the past, something or people have come against me I have thought, “What is going on? I do the right thing. I live a righteous life (what I thought was righteous at the time. I now know the way I was living was of course not righteous at all.) So why is all this happening?

It wasn’t until years later (meaning recently), I have come to see person’s coming against me or “challenges” for what they are: Either it’s not my path to take or I shared some really good word from the Lord, or I have moved up (progressed) in my walk with Jesus, or I have successfully avoided an attack from the evil ones and now they are whinnying like little demonic babies.

So me being me most often looking on the bright side; I take attacks as a badge of honor and of course always take questions to God.

21. Another man one of the disciples, said to him, “Lord, let me go and bury my father first.

22. But Jesus said, “Follow me, and leave the dead to bury their dead.”

I know some many be thinking here, “If Jewish traditions of burial were very strict during Biblical times, why would Jesus say, let the dead bury the dead?”

What I think, is important to remember is how we hear Jesus teachings and words, in present times, is not how Jesus words and teachings would have been heard during Biblical times.

We see this often cool meaning awesome, lit meaning awesome, and ‘ight meaning awesome.

During Biblical times, Jesus saying let the “dead bury their dead” would have meant, let those who don’t believe; bury those who don’t believe. Let those who don’t follow; bury those who don’t follow. Let those who are not God’s people; bury those who are not God’s people. Let sinners bury sinners…etc…

I know some might be thinking, “Wow, that was harsh.” Well, sometimes justice may seem harsh. Sometimes, justice maybe not be easily stomached. Sometimes the truth is difficult to hear and might hurt ones feelings.

Let us pray.

God, we pray togetherness. To God, we pray more more faith is bold faith. God, too we pray to not merely say words of prayer, but feel our words that we pray. God, thank you for the teachings of Yeshua. God, we pray that more and more of your children are able to recognize your voice.

God, we pray Christians unite and stop going against one another.

God, as always we pray for POTUS, Q, Q+++, and Patriots world wide that are fighting to rid this world of those who seek to destroy your agenda.

God, we pray to honor you with our service. Lord, we pray to have bold and surprising faith. God, we pray to do right your blessings that you have given and untrusted us with. We pray to glorify you with our works. Lord, we pray that our life bears witness to your glory.

Father, help us to be easily molded, less suborn, and more faithful.

Father, help us to think more of those who are in need and less of ourselves. God, help us to know your timing is for a purpose and we are to trust you more and more each day.

God, thank you for being a loyal and loving God to us.
