I dont think ive seen anyone talk about lil seb as a dirk splinter before and thats sad bc lil sebastian is reflective of one of the sweetest parts of dirk aka his need to protect and help his friends.

Brobot also encapsulates this to a degree but also portrays it through the lens of wanting to make them stronger to be able to protect themselves whereas lil seb portrays it through the lens of dirk wanting to keep them out of danger and letting himself protect them.

I feel like there’s more here, but I havent seen anyone else discussing the idea of lil seb as a dirk splinter. He, like brobot, is a robot made by dirk to protect a close friend of his that shares imagery with dirk and brobot (the triangular shades and hat icon on his chest).

Today, I’m thinking about AUSPISTICISM.

Specifically about how, during Act 5 Act 2, Jade and Karkat were functionally a two-person ashen relationship, wherein they both function as the auspistice for the other and a different version of themself.

More specifically, I’m thinking about when Jade mediated between past and future Karkats and when Karkat mediated between Jade and Jadesprite (sidenote : yes, I do think ashen trios can and should kiss, just like I think all the quadrants should).

I genuinely think 1) that these are the BEST examples of ashen romance that we get in the comic and 2) that ashen Jadekat is underrated.

They don’t stay lonely; they break through the window and go where they want to be.

Dirk Strider and Leprechaun Romance

Hypothesis:

Dirk uses the leprechaun romance system.

Evidence:

Dirk does not use human sexuality labels to define his sexuality and doesn't think it should have to be something he labels, but still acknowledges that Jake is still the only viable romantic option for him out of his entire friend group.

Leprechaun reproduction, and assumedly leprechaun romance, is exclusively homosexual. Thus, it could be inferred that being gay is not a thing that needs to be labeled.

Lil Seb, a Dirk splinter, uses the leprechaun romance system.

I was re-reading Homestuck and something occurred to me that may clear up a point of confusion in the fandom, so I’m going to share a theory. If someone else has already brought this up before, I am not aware of it.

After being knocked out and blinded by Eridan’s Hope-Powered Science Wand, Sollux has a half alive self on the meteor and a half dead self in the dream bubbles.

I have always seen people confused over how Sollux ended up with two selves. Most people chalk it up to his duality theme or connection to the Doom aspect and call it a day, but I think there’s an element that gets left out that makes everything make perfect sense.

Eridan hit Sollux with a Hope-Fueled weapon. As we see later with Brain Ghost Dirk becoming real in the Game Over timeline through Jake’s Hope-splosion, Hope can make the seemingly impossible into reality. The reason Sollux splits is because of Eridan’s latent hope powers.
